RUN OR DRIVE AWAY from this place as fast as you can. I have never written a review of anything, but if I can save 1 person from the shoddy workmanship of these guys it is worth my time. I went through most of my 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty trying to make my truck drivable. I rarely drove the truck as I lost all confidence in it after taking it to Jim Dandy. I did finally start driving it, but it leaked transmission fluid. I took it back and it still only had about 7,000 miles on it, but it was close to 3 years. They refused to honor warranty even though the 12 month part of the warranty was spent making it driveable. I also "coincidentally" had my transfer case go out at around 1600 miles after they had drained it while doing the transmission work, due to lack of oil but they never would admit it even though we all knew what happened.I took it to another shop and the leak was due to them "modifying" the pan and using wrong gasket and needing 11 helicoils to be able to properly tighten the pan. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Jim Dandy!

I had my truck brought in for 3 codes relating to the transmission well after many days of being there eventually I had it pulled because the truck is being shipped off they had it for a total of 7 days and they could only tell me things I already new that was wrong I get the truck home and it was dark of course well the next morning I coke out to oil rubbed all along my fender and about 10-20 new scratches all along the doors bed and roof even!! The truck wasn t perfect but this leaves no excuse for my truck to be treated this way just as a psa as well my truck is now home with 11 codes instead of the 3 I brought it in with choose wisely on you re shops before going to these places

Came in to change transmission coolant lines that were leaking. Tech said i was very low on trans fluid and charge me to fill up. Had fluid leaking all around repair area. When I took to different mechanic. They said install was loose and that I have over 4 quarts over max of fluid. Also when I showed it to the new mechanic they also noticed they never put the bolts back for the front grill that were removed during the previous coolant line change. I m pretty disappointed that this happened. I m also even more disappointed since this guy advertises himself as a transmission expert and I come to find that not only was it done wrong but was over charged for fluid that was unnecessary and may have caused the failure that happened after the service. If you do come here I hope your also able to verify and check everything yourself after they are done.

I went to to see them because my son car have a problem with the transmission, I left the car and after a couple hours they told me that the car was ready. I pay to change the gasket put the filter and put new oil, a couple week later i let someone see the car and told me that he believe the transmission was never open so there is no way they change the filter. The guy told me that was low in transmission fluid and i believe they fill up and still charge me for something that they never did.Service: Transmission

Please dont ever use this business. They are the most unprofessional people I have ever met. I have the pleasure of having my business across the street and witness everyday how they move your vehicles around. Sometimes pulling them with other customers vehicles. My Van's have been damaged twice now because I have them on the street. They park as close as they can to our Van's just to make it inconvenient for us. Not professional in any way. I wish I would of know about them before I bought my building. Nothing but a weekly nightmare watching these guys try and work.

My truck transmission broke down. I called Jim Dandy Transmission and Roger said he knows the issue with my transmission and should be easy to fix. They have been in business there for at least 31 years. Looks like they are a popular transmission shop, as all their bays were full and much of the parking around there was filled up too. I figure it will be a few days before they get it fixed.

My transmission was slipping and they serviced it. Got me out to Tennessee and still running strong. With 300k on the odometer.

I would highly recommend these guys for any transmission problems. Their prices are both fair and competitive. They were very helpful and consistent in keeping me informed of my vehicles status. Most importantly, they got it right the first time at a fair price.Skilled labor ain t cheap and cheap labor ain t skilled.Blue Collar Proverb

Do not go here to get your transmission serviced! I know how to work on vehicles and I have my entire life, but I am currently in the process of moving. Therefore, I thought I would save myself some time by letting a shop do a transmission service. I took before pictures of my transmission pan. While I was in the waiting room the female at the counter told me that there is great news. The technician had dropped my pan and there was no metal shavings at the bottom of the pan and everything looked great. Finally she gave me my keys and said my truck is all done. I paid my $160 for my truck to get serviced and I received a phone call so I had to hurry up and leave or else I would've looked at the transmission pan there. Once I got to my house I noticed that my transmission pan was wiped clean, but the hard to reach places was still dirty. Then I noticed that my bolts had no fresh metal showing, meaning that they didn't drop my pan. Then I compared my before pictures and realized that my gasket had the same exact cracks as before in the same spots. They lied to me and on my receipt it states that they dropped the pan, changed filter and the gasket and replaced oil. So I called them and told them that I have before and after pictures and I want a full refund. They admitted to not doing to full service. I dropped my pan myself two days later and the pan was not clean and was not serviced, it actually had metal shavings on the magnets/gunk. Please save your time and money and do not go here, especially if you don't know much about vehicles because they will screw you over.

I had my 2001 Jeep repaired at This location. My rear end had failed. I talked to Tim and felt My Jeep was in good hands. They made the repairs and I got my Jeep back within 2 weeks. I was charged over $2700 for axel bearings, ring and pinion gear set, installation kit, posi carrier, and a differential cover. I was assured by Tim and Roger that my Jeep had been repaired correctly and I would have no further issues. About 6 months later., the rear end of my Jeep began leaking. I took it to a transmission location where I currently live and after they removed the differential cover he saw that all the shims were falling out and there was major damage to the ring and pinion gear set. I called Tim at Jim Dandy who gave me the run around, and never returned calls. When I got ahold of Tim again he told me they were having phone issues and because of the way their phone system was set up they were not able to call long distance (wow). I eventually got ahold of Roger who said he would do the right thing and call the guy who was doing the repairs on my Jeep. Shockingly he never called. I called back Tim today 6/18/20 and I asked for Roger. Tim told me that Roger was busy working on a transmission and Roger had instructed Tim that he did not want to be bothered. This location obviously only wants the money for lack luster work and does not honor their workmanship. Avoid going to repair shop. I will be seeking legal counsel and see them in court.

DO NOT GO TO JIM DANDYS TRANSMISSIONS!!!!!I brought my 2004 Chevy Z71 there for a transmission rebuild and after getting a few days after having my truck I noticed transmission fluid spots on my driveway so I took it back in and they told me it was a factory defect and I should contact Chevrolet. My driveway was absolutely spotless before I took the truck to them for the original rebuild!!!! They are dishonest thieves from my point of view!! Especially after paying $2800 for the rebuild

Kind of a hole in the wall place, but they are so busy it's hard to find a spot to park. Front counter guy likes to joke around, so be ready. Good job for a good price.

I paid $45 for a diagnostic test. I was told I needed a "soft re-build" totaling $1,800, if not more. I took my vehicle to Vacaville Transmission where the diagnostic test was FREE. Randall was very helpful and explained exactly what was wrong. The part was less than $60 and about an hour of labor. I would recommend Vacaville Transmission.
