One of the honest and highly skilled car mechanic I have ever met and seen. He is very polite to talk to and take time to understand the issues. I have been taking my SUV to him when I used to work in Hayward, but now moved to San Jose, I still drive my SUV or other car to him and return by BART to San Jose, that's how much confidence I have on this shop.

Hands down the best and only mechanic I trust. I come from the other side of the Bay Area just to bring my car.They are super helpful & I always leave feeling confident in their work. Gabriel, the owner, has always given me plenty of information about what s going on with me car (even answering as many questions as I have) and gives fair and honest pricing. He even helped me figure out that my battery was dead without charging me to get it diagnosed. I recommend anyone looking for an honest mechanic to give them a try.

I thought this would be a great place to take my car for general maintenance but the customer service and communication is terrible. The last phone call on Tuesday 10/17 is the final straw. I'm hearing different stories and basically wasted 4 days of no repairs. I did not like hearing, "I'll check your car when I'm done with this car", while my car has been sitting there for over 4 days now. I do remember when I showed up Friday at 9am, I did mention the issue with the car not beeping when hitting the lock button twice then I do remember mentioning general maintenance with the car making a rattling noise when the key is inserted, also the car becoming jumpy while driving on the road, and I guess the man did not hear me that well. I will not be coming back here to do business again. I'm questioning if the reviews here are legitimate. Huge waste of time and rip off!

It is a good small family business car repair shop! As a consequence of that, you should not expect to enjoy a luxurious waiting lobby with TV, coffee, and muffins while your car is being fixed, like in a dealership. All these is paid back buy the quality and the price of their service though. They are very customer oriented and try to do their job well at lowest possible price.They are careful in picking up parts, so that the parts will have a year warranty, which is important, especially if you need to disassemble half of the car to get there. They are very friendy, and once they even fixed a minor scratch on my car for free.If you want to do some minor car fix, such as oil change, you better arrive earlier, something like 8:50 am or so, as they open at 9 and you will be the first one served. If you want something significant you just leave your car there and take a Bart train from Union City, which is about 10 minutes walking distance.

Dealer quoted me $1200+ for 60k mile service. Escutia performed 60k service check for only $164! They are honest and won t overcharge you for things your car doesn t need. After doing the 60k service, my car only needed oil and filters changed. Will definitely be coming back. I like these guys so I referred my friends and family to them.

The guy was a total prick when I called in. You can tell being a mechanic was the only path he could have in his life.Feel sorry for the guy since he has no people skills. Sucks to suck though.

Honest people , Fair pricing and good communication !I got my BMW 328i's brakes replaced and they gave me fair quote (less compared to others) and did a great job. They are patient and explain everything to you. Highly recommended!

I have a general phobia of visiting mechanics/dealers based on the reviews because regardless of how good the ratings for dealers are on Google maps they invariably screwed me up.I came here after a quick chat with Gabe on Yelp. He was helpful and honest and gave me estimates of the costs. I came in here and Frankie helped me with my oil change (very prompt service) and also helped check the brakes. I most certainly will come back here when it's time to service my brakes.I can fully recommend this place!

Love this shop. They are my old neighborhood repair shop and after growing up I still bring my cars to them. Gaby works the front desk and is quick and knowledgeable.The boss Gabe is the auto pro! Great pricing. They work on old cars and new cars. Recommend for everyone

On Xmas Eve 2018 I arrived into Union City, from Colorado, with a knocking sound emanating from the front end of my 2006 RAM 3500 4x4. I called Escutia's, based on all the great reviews, and he took me in right away. He immediately diagnosed the problem as a worn-out u-joint on the front axle and ordered OEM quality replacements parts, which he put on the day after Xmas.That was fantastic service and kept my holidays on schedule and stress-free. They are real craftsman and did very high-quality work, and with a great sense of humor too. His workmanship was outstanding and his price was totally fair, which was impressive given the holiday week.Highly recommended and I will use them again when in the area.

Have been taking my cars for over 10 years I never have had any problems about fix my cars. Gabe is reliable and Honest and very knowledgeable about most cars he always been able to fix the problem or stir me in the right direction to get the problem fixed my whole family goes here to get their cars fix and I refer all my friends here. If you got a problem with your car Escutia's is the place go.

Have I died and gone to mechanic heaven? Don't let the decrepit facade deter you from this place (it actually adds to the charm), this is is what America is about! The guys here are very helpful and know what they are talking about...they want to help you get your car on the road with out the hassle that other shop will do. Me being a woman some shops will take advantage of that and the men who work here don't do that, they get the job done right and in a timely manor. I will always come back here and I recommend this shop to everyone. Thank you for still being human.

I've been working on cars for many decades and it's rare that I need a mechanic. Yet there are some tasks I can't do either because they need very specialized equipment or I'm prohibited by law from doing without certification. I was glad to find a mechanic who is knowledgeable, honest, and affordable. It always bothered me that there are mechanics who do jobs that I know take very little time, yet they manage to charge people exorbitant amounts for labor, and round up to charge for hours that they didn't really work, "preventive" services that are not needed, or parts that don't really need changing. Escutia charges rates that are very fair. I finally got to the point that I was willing to have a mechanic do things for me out of convenience, such as tune ups, rather than doing it myself since I wasn't being ripped off with high prices.The flip side is that they have plenty of local business and never needed to advertise, so the place looks like the last place I expected to take my car. It's the site of an old former two pump gas station with an unprofessionally hand painted sign hanging over it, and is entirely out of character from what you'd expect from a place that gives quality service.
