[Update] Be aware that parking is not free. No one during check-in and check-out told me that the parking is $10. Upon checking out, the front desk staff told me there won t be any charge (I used a free night award from my Marriott credit card) and the receipt will be sent to my email. Today I received the email receipt, and it charged me $10 for parking from my saved visa. It wouldn t be an issue for me to pay for the parking for $10 if this is mentioned in any place while I was there. Changed service from 5 to 4 stars. [end of update]If you are in Twentynine Palm area, this is a great place to spend overnight. We visited Joshua Tree National Park, which was beautiful, but since the night can be chilly, we decided to spend the night at the Fairfield Inn and Suite near the park entrance instead of camping in the park. Having a free breakfast is also a plus!

I expected a little bit more from this stay. Hotel is standard Fairfield Inn setup. It s clean, although it s outdated. Mattress is comfortable and provides a good night sleep.. Service provided from check-in to checkout should be better. For example everything what should be included we had to ask for. A little bit more effort will go far away.

Spacious rooms and bathrooms. Unlike some other hotels, the tissues here don t feel like sandpaper on your nose! On the other hand the sheets could be a bit softer.A short drive from any of the northern entrances to Joshua Tree Park. The Grocery Outlet on the corner is very convenient to pick up anything you may have forgotten or waited to buy until your arrival.Nearby activities: Close to Joshua Tree National ParkWalkability: Easily walk to Grocery Outlet on the corner, or there is a Stater Bros across the street.

4 star price for 2 star amenities. It's probably the least sketchy motel there but hugely overpriced. They do get the award for having the worst coffee ever! It amounted to brown toilet water. Really gross.Nearby activities: Nor much

This is a great home base for exploring Joshua Tree National Park. The staff was friendly. They need more help in the breakfast area. One poor lady was trying to keep up with the hungry mob of people wanting breakfast each morning. I felt bad for her. They have tea and coffee available all day. The rooms are in need of a deep cleaning.

Our room was fine. It s not fancy but it was clean, nice size and accommodated us well. Beds could be better but we slept fine.Staff was not friendly or particularly helpful. You would think they d know a little about the area. When we asked a question, one lady literally told us she really should learn a bit about the National park. I asked the other lady if they had any plastic spoons and she was so disgusted to be bothered.Location is fine. It s not the man town but it was an easy ride to it. Plus this area has enough around it too, including a convenient park entrance.Cell phone and internet was horrible. We had better reception away from the hotel than we did using their WiFi. Not a huge deal for most things but it is good to know going in.

Room was spacious and overall good. Staff was nice and helpful, breakfast was usual Fairfield breakfast. However, the room was not clean. First thing we found was a bottle cup on the floor in the middle of the room. Then we encounter some sand on a coffee table, a little coffee left in the coffee-maker, and finally some sticky liquid on a nightstand.Next time I ll stay in that area I ll probably go with another brand.

A no-frills hotel next to JTNP that is clean, convenient, and quiet. I ve stayed here four times so far and every time is enjoyable. Mona at the front desk is an absolute delight. The people leaving poor reviews are acting like this is a premium or luxury level brand. This is not a standard Marriott or Ritz-Carlton- stop treating it as such.

Parking: Most of the parking spots were taken, so we had to park far, far away near the pool.Customer Service: The receptionist was very nice and understanding when we told her about the experience we had.Best Part: The beds were comfy.Worst Part: The rooms had some stuff that were not working. The breakfasts were also terrible, and everybody was bringing their coughing kids. I was filling up my orange juice, and then a kid turned their head towards me and then coughed in it. I could even see the ripples. Super disappointing and disgusting experience.Tips/Recommendations: There are better hotels out there.Return: Definitely not.

The bathroom worked but shower needed maintenance (shower curtain was too short so water gets all over the floor), stains on the tub from being old, I guessThe bedroom carpet felt a little sticky in spotsThe staff was nice but my complaints are they ended breakfast 20 mins bf 9, coffeee cups were out, mobile key wasn t ready when i gave 4 hours advanced warning and unresponsive to my late night messages in the app.The pantry has some good options however you can t receive points for what you buy there which is a bummer. The room was big and spacious. Location is Super close and convenient to the park

This hotel offers little service but lots of "freedom". For example it allows people playing loud music at midnight for hours. Filing a complaint to the front desk did nothing, despite being told they will ask to turn the music down (not off, and the volume remains the same).Definitely recommended to those have no regards to rules and other people's well beings. But if you consider yourself an individual equipped with basic human decency, avoid this place.

Rooms were clean and staff was polite and friendly. Reason for 4 stars is Marriott is crazy for adding a $10.00 parking fee in this little town of 29 Palms. No question they have a potentially expensive problem with the parking area. This is a Marriott problem, not a customer problem. This review is my opinion.

Decided to have a desert vacation without looking into a hotel first. Luckily we found this place and what a good choice. We checked in around 3pm, dropped our luggage off and back out for dinner and adventure. Room was really nice w/ little living room area where my husband and I enjoyed a night movie before going to bed. Woke up next morning for free breakfast 6am-9am. Breakfast was good but I would've appreciated dairy free milk available for my cereal. We took a morning swim before getting ready for more desert fun. The hotel claimed it had a heated pool but trust me it was not heated. Water was freezing cold, do not get in until 1pm on maybe.Rooms: Room was really nice w/ little living room area where my husband and I enjoyed a night movie before going to bed. Bed was comfortable but I didn't like the AC is literally next to the bedNearby activities: Casino, shopping, dining, Joshua tree national parkWalkability: Markets and Burger King are next to or across the street

Overpriced for what it is. Large rooms that are mostly renovated except the TV and the pull out couch that is impossible to sleep on. No mattress between the springs and the sheets. Annoying outdated ac. Room was not clean and several amenities missing. Breakfast the worst I have ever seen at any place. No toast or bread of any kind. No regular milk and hardly any fruit. Garbage bins were overflowing and nothing was refilled. Awful coffee. No wonder they did not ask about the stay at check out. On top they charge $10 for parking !! This is a small town in the desert and not a city. Expensive place to begin with. Avoid this place !

Everything about this hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean. The pool was very nice (small deck area but didn t seem to be a problem). Cell service and wi-fi were not great but that has more to do with the location than the hotel itself. Breakfast was the standard Fairfield inn & suites breakfast. The best part was location! It was a 12 minute drive from the north entrance of Joshua tree, about 20 from the west entrance. There wasn t a lot in the way of restaurants or activities nearby outside of the National park but that s what we were there for so it was as great! Compared to the other hotels we saw along the route this one seemed to be the best. It was set back a bit from the road so it made it a more quiet location. Also a large discount grocery store right in front and another grocery store across the street. We would definitely stay again. It felt safe, comfortable and was in the perfect location for our trip to Joshua Tree.

Even if the rooms are a bit outdated they are very well maintained, it s very clean, great staff, a lot of parking spaces, good proximity to Joshua Nationalpark and there are a few stores near by where you can buy some snacks and food for the night. Our room came with a small fridge and a microwave, which we really appreciated. We really enjoyed it!

This is a great hotel! The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Our bed and couch were pretty nice...they appeared to be new. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything was up and running at breakfast; no issues at all. In addition, it's located on the east end of the park, so your drive is much easier, and the park's best spots are close. The only gripe we had, is the parking fee...it's unnecessary.
