Have been staying here for 30 years but I'm done. Noisy, no protein options at breakfast (just hard boil some eggs - easy!), very loud heater, uncomfortable bed & pillows. And they've had the same "out of order" sign on the hot tub for 3 years! I asked about this and they admitted there was no hot tub there anymore. No need to lie to your customers, especially if there are kids who might be excited about it working the next time they visit.

Great customer service, very informative, a little expensive for the average Joe, but worth it if you plan (book) in advance. Decent location, not far from town and the local (free) bus, and there is a free local taxi service with an app (TartConmect). The river and hiking terrain are just steps from this location... And the train tracks too!Walkability: Close to commerce and transportation.

Pretty pricey for what it is, but the Tahoe area has become ridiculously expensive for lodging now.The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The property isn't bad but it's showing it gets a lot of traffic. Room was clean but a bit cramped. Microwave and fridge in the room both nice and clean.Coffee service is downstairs in the lobby 24/7 and it allows a variety of different coffee drinks. The free breakfast (not really free as it's factored into the room cost) is prepackaged muffins and waffles. I managed to grab the last 2 Breakfast Biscuits and I was down at breakfast at 6:45. Lots of bagels however.I asked for clean towels from a Maid and they were super nice. There's no elevator so ask for rooms on ground floor if you don't want to lug your stuff up stairs. Parking is convenient. There are several places to eat nearby but you'll need to venture into Truckee for something other than fast food.Overall, not bad, but there may be other options. Unfortunately, the Summer is peak pricing season.Rooms: Small, dark but clean. Don't expect fancy.

The location of the place is convenient as it is close to the freeway, but please note that you may hear the sound of honking or passing cars. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. Regarding my room, it was decent. It had a simple and standard design, featuring a queen-size bed, a bathroom, and a 32-inch TV. However, I did notice that the cabinet was a bit dusty when I checked it. Upon removing the channel listing next to the TV, I observed a line of dust. The hairdryers were not provided in the room; instead, you need to request them at the front desk. On a positive note, the location is great as there is a nearby supermarket and other stores within walking distance, eliminating the need for driving. Additionally, in the morning, there are short paved walkways available where I can take my dog for a walk.

This motel was great. The room was ready before 3pm so we were able to check in. The front desk girls were nice and accommodating. The decor and carpeting is dated but seemed to be ok. The room we stayed in was pretty quiet and the air conditioning worked really well. A bit of light came through the blinds from the parking lot but that wasnt a deal breaker. There are vending machines downstairs, a Savemart grocery store a block away, and a McDonald's and a couple restaurants nearby. The room had a fridge/freezer and microwave. We chose this motel as they didn't require a 2 nite stay on the weekend and it was about half the cost of staying closer to the lake. I'd stay again next time I'm up there.

Not my kind of place. I booked it not knowing what it was like, needed a place we could bring our pup, and missed the opportunity at another location. When we pulled up there was trash all around the parking lot...first turn off. The few people loitering around were not the most favorable looking crowd. The staff at the desk were very friendly!! When my husband was confirming my feelings it me me even more unsure of why were staying....well - because we needed a place and it was not refundable. I think had we been able to get our money back we would have kept driving! Can't say we even stayed for the free continental breakfast.... it was all I could do to shut my eyes and sleep. The room was not inviting. There was a table and 2 chairs along the wall, but the chairs were stacked on the table. The bed was fair. The bathroom was clean but old. I just didn't feel comfortable!

I stayed here a few weeks ago, but I canceled my 2nd night and stayed at Granlibaken. Hole in the bathroom door, poorly cleaned, needs painted, figure glass broken, and here is the kicker.. the BED! I suggest you DO NOT lift up the skirt to see the box spring (disgusting ). It's so old, and shot that your head is lower than your feet. I tried to put stuff under the matress to offset the height difference but that did NOT work, as I woke up with a major back and headache! I was in the first room on the left when you go up the stairs closest to the front desk. The boy at the desk was super nice but the evening girl was not as nice, and obviously dislikes her job. They credited me for the 2nd night, but if they didn't I was going to stop payment on my AMEX card. All in all, don't stay here! I'll post pics showing my feet higher than my head!

A few weeks ago I made a reservation for my wife and I for July 1, 2023. Tgey gave me a price of $249. I called two days ago extended the stay ONE EXTRA DAY, checking out JULY 3rd. The person I spoke with sent me a confirmed modified email of our reservation, with a price of $663!!!!! I emailed them back after several calls , never got a reply. After five phone calls today, June 4th I finally I got to speak with a person to cancel the trip and reservation. My wife and I stayed at the Truckee Inn , in 2007 . We enjoyed the stay. To say the least, their communication is among the WORST I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN ALL MY YEARS TRAVELING.

Super friendly staff but unfortunately the room was dark, had many broken fixtures and was poorly cleaned. There was dirt and debris behind both doors and between the night stand including fingernail clippings. There were broken fixtures including a towel rack and the window screen. I asked the hotel to do a second cleaning but I came back and it wasn t cleaned.

Checking in was a comedy of errors. Check in starts at 4 but by 4:40 nobody was in the office. 4 different groups were sitting in the lobby waiting for someone to show up. Two non- English speaking house keepers kept trying to reassure everyone that the office employee was somewhere on the property. The began running through the hotel yelling his name. They finally found him asleep in one of the rooms. It took him another 10 minutes to arrive in the office, stoned out of his mind. There was an after hours phone in the lobby, we used it and got some random answering service that wasn't even sure which property we were calling from. Room was very small and old. Lighting in the bathroom was very dim. I think there must be better choices in town.

Terrible service from this Inn. There was 6 severe weather warnings in effect for the area and I had to cancel my stay. I called 48 hours before check in to cancel and they refused cancellation and on top of that, charged me for the entire stay without me ever setting foot in the place. I've traveled extensively and no other hotel has this type of absurd policy and greed. I'll be making sure no one else in my company uses this Inn.

Overpriced for what it is.First the good stuff: Room was clean, hot water worked, heater pumped well, and staff was helpful and attentive. The bad stuff: Beds/pillows were hard and not super comfortable. The TV remote was missing and we had to have someone bring us a new one and reprogram the TV so that it would change channels. The toilet in the bathroom ran at random intervals throughout the night. There was an overwhelming smell of propane/gas at the side door entrance. It was a convenient location for staying near snowboarding resort, but at $240 a night after taxes, it was definitely overpriced. Will be checking out other options in the area on our next trip.

Update : They have gone down hill ! Rooms not very clean and service is lousy now !! Will no longer be staying here. Are room was left with 1/2 used roll of toilet paper and no refill. One wash cloth for 2 people? Really. Towels look like they were used and had beard shavings. Bathroom wasn't cleaned. And pillows had looks like grease on them. See pic !Great friendly service, rooms are comfy beds are a little to hard for my liking ! Would recommend, great prices for rooms. Handy cap parking as well ! Allows dogs with extra fee!

Clean, nice rooms. But my TV didn t work, the remote for the cable box was missing and all the lamps were unplugged. I had to move the bed to plug them back in. The TV issue was never resolved. They also charged more than the room was listed for on google.

Its great if the average height of a person is 4'10. It was like staying in the hotel for the 7 dwarfs. The beds were short and small. The rooms were just as equally small. Fitting 2 beds in there was a wonder to me. The walls? Super thin. We heard music till about 10 pm and it was definitely making the walls rattle. For the price of 1 night, not worth it. My opinion, remove the carpets. The water damage alone from the snow has left a moldy smell that lingers throughout the inn. There were holes throughout the walls. The only good thing is it was close enough to local areas and a last min stop I guess...

My wildland fire engine will be in the Tahoe Basin Management Unit until October, and these guys have got us reserved up until the 23rd of September. We've been staying here since the 9th of this month and haven't had any problems. They can't clean rooms while you still have the room reserved due to covid, but they're doing the best they can to keep us accommodated with clean towels and such. I appreciate the helpful mentality of all the staff I've talked to, and would definitely recommend a stay. We still haven't got to try the hot tub or sauna yet, but I'm sure we'll get a chance.

Worst bed I've encountered in five decades of traveling five continents. I put bedding on the floor so I could actually escape the springs screwing into my back and manage a couple hours of sleep in spite of the roar of trucks on the freeway just outside the window. Literally *anywhere* else in town will offer less noise and a better bed.

Rooms were clean, staff was great. Continental breakfast was a bit lacking, but their juice machine and coffee machines were excellent. I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels... If all of them were this nice I'd be a happy camper. The only complaint I have, is that the hot tub was out of order.. but hey, things break some times

Overpriced, rooms are a bit dated, and walls (especially the doors) are paper thin. Can hear conversations clear as day from the hall. Room was a great size and the water pressure was amazing. But at $100+ a night it definitely was not worth the cost.

When we got there the first room was disgusting there was use Q-tips and hair all over the bathroom floor and the room smelled really bad. We paid almost $300 for one night and the pillowcases were dirty in the second room we were in as well the hotel was really old they informed us that there was no housekeeping so no one can come clean the room and I feel like it was a huge waste of money for a very poor experience unfortunately.

Sorry but the hotel was very disappointing. The carpet was dirty, room smelly with no amenities whatsoever. And to top it all, they charged me twice (which the front desk said it was taken care of when I first found out about it). I'm disputing the charges now. It had a very musky smell, maybe because they take pets (and I have nothing against pets cuz we have two dogs at home). They were in the middle of re-tiling the floor but it looked liked it was a three year project to make it look like that they're addressing the carpet issue. Don't; even get me started with the AC window unit that was loud and useless. I've traveled and have spent many nights in hotels, this one takes it all. Sorry :(
