I bought a small $15 adaptor cable that didn t end up working (no big deal) to try to get me by with my stock radio until I had them install a new system. When I went in the next morning to see if I could get the $15 to go towards the stereo since I threw away the box. The owner accused me of bringing in a different cable. I would totally understand if he just said no to the return since I hadn t had a receipt or box, but accusing me of lying about such a small expense seemed really weird. Especially since he was right there when I purchased the cable the day before at 4:00pm. Any ways, the employees seemed like nice guys, Colin was extremely helpful with the quote for my trucks stereo system. The owner lost a $1,200 job because he accused me of lying when I would have been totally fine with him just saying he can t take it back. I won t go back, I d recommend others steer clear as well.

Russell and his staff know their stuff! Fixing my PA/Amp this week for a reasonable price. Now I'm looking at a car stereo install, I didn't know to expect reasonable rates right here in Truckee. Look here first before heading to Reno.

Super friendly and knowledgeable. I had an electronic emergency and they had a solution. Super easy, no hassle. Their services extend beyond my expectations, like an in-house entertainment installment. Really, really nice looking shop too. I was very impressed.

Great service. I am pretty novice when it comes to electronics. The team here helped me navigate the software of my new car stereo after I had to return multiple times with questions. Conveniently in Truckee.Very thankful for the help, and the new stereo rocks!!!

I contacted them to rewire my rear dash cam because my puppy chewed wire. They told me there was a $65 charge whether they could fix it or not. Jordan told me that it s for his time to figure out if he can fix it, I declined and went elsewhere. The other company told me it s not repairable and I need to buy a new one the replacement was LESS than Carlson s fee not to be able to fix it! With the other company there was 0 no question whether or not it could be repaired, but Carlson s electronics was willing to charge me and then tell me they couldn t fix it. As an electronic company that does wiring , they certainly must have known they were not able to repair it rather than being honest, telling a senior citizen, they could not repair it. They wanted to charge me to tell me that they couldn t repair it. Honestly, that is BS in a major way.

I had an idea for what I wanted for a sub in my Wrangler when I came in, and questions about what I might want for my stereo screen interface. Nate was insightful and informative which I really appreciated. He showed me the difference between 2 interfaces, that was exceptionally helpful to see and touch what he was explaining to me. Have my sub on order and am anxiously awaiting their call when it comes in to schedule the install. They put a whole new system in my husband's jeep last year and it sounds great! Quality work, and I don't feel like we are paying "tahoe prices" for the equipment and labor

Very RUDE customer service! I only wanted to get my CB antenna tuned. He could not even get off his chair to go outside and look at my antenna. No customers were even in his store. Not a good way for a small business (who I was trying to support) treat a Truckee Local. I would NOT recommend him to anyone in the future. I ll drive to Reno!

What does a recliner have to do with auto electronics? My recliner stopped working, so I went to Carlson's to see if they had a figure 8 power cord. They did not, but a young man named Sam graciously tested my cord and said it was OK. As I was exiting, I noticed a display of BlueTooth car stereo.s, and Sam explained all the different features of each, in a way this 70 year old could understand. Because I knew anyone who would employ such a fine young man had to be of good ethics.I went back later and met owner Russel, and ordered a JVC system w/ back up camera for my truck. I also had a forward camera installed, which was no small task to adapt. Thank you, Russel,and team for the MOST professional and courteous service. ANY time I can purchase local, and avoid Big Box stores I do. The service here is beyond what I expected, and I will always return..P.S. if you want to know about what it takes to create a chess app. talk to Nate..Such a great place to do business..

Had a simple service done here recently and I was very pleased with the results. I was talking to the owner and complimenting him on the work that he had done and his answer was simply the best response you could get. He said that he did things the way he would like them done for himself. As a customer, I can't tell you how pleased I am to hear a business owner say this. It is the best way to do business , period ! Give this place a try , I can't imagine you would be disappointed.

Lame lies about my installation of my stereo... wasted my time. An took a day off to have this appointment... then wasn't important as other customers... an pushed it out 3 weeks ... really displeased... I had heard good things too but I guess unless u know on a personal level... u dont matter... bs .. rude

Carlson s Electronics has horrible customer service and has cost me hundreds of dollars in repairs due to improper installation of equipment. I recommend going somewhere else to have your vehicle worked on.

Very RUDE customer service. I was treated VERY poorly. And they have no idea what they are doing. The guy that was installing my truck was reading a manual to figure out how to install.
