This was the best experience ever building a street rod, by Leonard Lopez at Dominator street rods. Leonard helped me throughout the entire process with great ideas , if I had an idea I brought it to Leonard , he made it happen on my car, I urge anyone to go to Dominator street rods and have that experience like I did, very professional throughout. I don't think there's anything they can't do on a car they know it all and they do it right that's the best thing these days about getting something done right, and being able to trust whoever's doing work for you, this is the place to go.

Probably by far, the highest quality custom car shop I've experienced. They don't cut corners, they aren't what I'd call a high-volume shop, and their billing policy is fair. Essentially, you have to keep a $5K balance on account. I find that acceptable, as most of the initial risk is for the shop doing the work, so I'm cool with it. It limits the risk on both ends, and gives the shop a small initial advantage. Either side can divorce with only $5K of funds in contention. When you're talking large project dollars, that's maybe a week of work lost if either side thinks things aren't working out.Communication has been very good. I haven't had many opportunities to visit the shop, but I get detailed invoices and occasional shop photos of the work completed. None of it has been superfluous or just adding on goodies I don't need or are out of scope for the project. I get great questions about how far I want to go, and have dialed-back a few suggestions because I have a longer term plan for for the car. I don't feel oversold about anything.Shop is also very responsive if I want to communicate with Leonard or anyone else that has sent me questions.I, specifically, handed my car off to them and said, "I don't have a date I need it back." I've been very happy with the work they've done over the last two years, and we're very, very close to being done. Their work has been meticulous.

Dominator is the shop I entrusted the restoration of my 65 Chevy C10 to. My original plan was to have them clean up and finish a partial restoration that went off track. It wasn't long before I knew their expertise was exactly what I needed to get my project moving in a better direction than I had originally planned.Owner Leonard Lopez is great to work with, the perfect balance of great design input while inviting my ideas into the process also.If you're looking for a shop that can handle every aspect of your build, you don't need to look anywhere else, these are the guys! They are deeply experienced, completely professional and always willing to make time for questions. My only regret is that I didn't bring my truck to Leonard earlier. Dominator is the only shop I'll have work on it going forward.

This was the worst experience of any kind I have ever had with a repairman in the US. AVOID AT ALL COST--this is a train wreck... He is ghastly overpriced...will creep the prices 10x over estimate...and I question his honesty and business ethics....Does not return calls...I had to take off days to visit the shop for an answer. He would call and tell me he completed repairs after I told him to cease all work.-Estimate for exhaust was ~$200, ended up nearly $700, and he charges you R&D $125 to tell his crew what to do that is about the same amount of time as the repair labor--exhaust hangs too low also.-$262 to change a power steering line, $62 to diagnose the leak.-Charged me $93.75 to "wire up exhaust and clean up dust and move the car out to clean floor". He charged me to clean his floor!!!-Leanard told me the motor mounts were reversed and now fit. Said the headers were in the way. When I took it to another shop, they wanted to know why someone drilled new holes in the frame and the headers never touch anything. I call that unethical and dishonest.-I have a bill for over 40 hours to install headers (he cut large portions of the shock tower and in the process removed the valve covers to lift engine...and caught/grounded the distributor wire in the cover...engine would not start and oil leak on both covers.-Then on my freshly painted new car...damaged the paint on the roof while lifting it where it had to be repainted...he stalled for a week until I demanded to know the hold up...then he told me why. When he admitted he had to paint it and it was taking longer to get a painter...then it wrinkled the clear coat. I am not sure he would have told me he was painting it otherwise. I finally just towed it back after months of delays and excuses...6 months for a 3 week estimate.-This is one that just needs to go out of business.

Leonard is a great guy and amazing builder of custom Street rods! I had the pleasure of meeting and working with on a film project. I would definitely recommend Dominator Street Customs.

Dominator built my truck and is in the process of building a 32 Tudor sedan. I can't say enough good things about Leonard and his talented crew. From mild to wild they can do it all.
