My experience at Walt's Auto Service was seamless. Their online appointment service is very efficient. Their communication during servicing and afterwards is professional, courteous and very pleasant.Most importantly the service provided to me was highly ethical. During a routine maintenance appointment Walt and his technician found an incidental problem with my axle. Instead of recommending an expensive repair to be done at his shop Walt instead looked up the car warranty details and verified the needed repair would be covered under warranty. Because of Walt's honesty I can take the car back to the automaker and have the repair done there free of charge.This kind of above-and-beyond service means a lot to me as a small business owner and I highly recommend you trust Walt's Auto Service with your car service needs. I know I will.

I had high hopes for this auto service based on their great reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. When I initially spoke to Paul on the phone, he seemed pleasant. However, when I visited the shop in person, his demeanor completely changed. He was rude and dismissive towards me.To make matters worse, I had to wait for days to bring my car in for an insurance claim. Despite the insurance company's request for a supplemental quote, Paul refused to perform any work on my vehicle nor provide the supplemental quote to the insurance company. He didn't even bother to look at my car.This level of unprofessionalism and lack of customer service is unacceptable. I would strongly advise against using this auto service. Their behavior not only wasted my time, but it also hindered the process of getting my car repaired. I hope my experience serves as a warning to others.

Walt's Auto has been my sole choice for car service since 1991 when I purchased my Honda Accord. Now 4 Camry's later, including 3 hybrids, the latest a 2020, Walt's continues to provide honest and excellent service. When my cars have been for service, Walt's has never insisted on unnecessary parts replacement but rather provides written recommendations for service on such items as brake and hose wear, etc., at the next scheduled visit or elapsed miles. This honesty I appreciate! They're always available to answer questions if you just stop by. Friendly, yes! Fair, definitely! Quality of service, beyond reproach!Torrance xfmrman

I bought a Jeep from CarMax, as soon as I bought it I got a 2,5 inch (less than a week after buying it). Getting the lift revealed there was a huge crack in my axle the crack was so bad the whole tire set us was wobbling. CarMax paid $2500 to get the Axle replaced. This guy was the closest CarMax certified Mechanic to my house. His shop is about two miles from my home. I Loverd his work so went back 6 months later (last week). replaced my axle, calibers, Roters, tail lights and break pads. These guys are very fair and know what they are doing. Everyone in our community speaks very highly of his work.

Decided to try here after the dealership charged $70 for a battery inspection/repair in July and I ended up stranded 2 months later in Fresno with a battery terminals corroded beyond belief. At Walt's, everyone was super friendly, the service was QUICK (checking in, checking out, and the work itself). I'm only sorry that I waited so long before going local. ;)

Walt's Auto Service did a great job on my 1996 Ford Explorer.At the last oil change, I was notified of oil leaks on the oil pan and rear main seal. I was provided an estimate and rescheduled another visit.I notified Paul Dice that I had 2 additional cars so time was not important. I told him he could hang onto the car as long as possible because I knew it would be a big job.The mechanics did a great job of replacing the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, intake manifold gasket and timing chain gasket.I brought the car home and removed the cardboard that I had left on the garage floor that was soaked with oil prior to gasket changes.The next morning the garage floor was dry, no more leaks.The best part was the price. It was several hundred dollars less than the original estimate.I have been going to Walt's Auto Service for close to 25 years.There is no better Independent Auto Repair shop in the South Bay than Walt's

My first time at Walt's and I was treated like a long time customer, every person I cam in contact with was a professional that had my best interest in mind. They were economical in how they did the repairs to my power steering, and were kind and courteous at every step. My old mechanic went out of business, so I was looking for someone to fill the void in the approximate vicinity. Walt's had a high rating on Yelp so I took a chance. The first time I came in, I didn't figure I'd get serviced right away but they did make an appointment for the following morning (it was for the "Check Engine" light, so my car was driveable). They fixed the problem, the price was reasonable (what I expected), and the car was ready the same day. Communication was great throughout the process. Would definitely return.Service: Engine repair

I was looking to purchase a used car while living across the country and needed to get a thorough pre-purchase inspection performed since I wouldn't be able to see the car prior to purchase. Walt's was able to get me in quickly and at a very reasonable rate. They performed a very detailed inspection, and called me shortly after to go over all the nitty-gritty details (and even did a further look for any cosmetic blemishes since I wouldn't be able to look at the car myself). They took all the uncertainty out of what would otherwise be a risky purchase. I can't recommend them highly enough!Service: Vehicle Inspection

I've got a long story to tell you. I received a coupon for free oil change and inspection. Their mechanic performed the promised oil change, for free. I expected to see a list of unnecessary service recommendation that some dishonest auto shops would recommend. To my surprise, they told me everything looks good and no service is necessary. So my impression is that these guys are very honest.After the oil change, on the way home, I started hearing weird noise from the engine that I've never heard before. Every time I rev over 3000 rpm, the engine oil warning light would lit on. I noticed the oil started leaking from the engine to the driveway. I knew something wasn't right. I called them right away. Unfortunately, it was a Saturday evening, and they don't open on Sundays. I waited till Monday to tell them what happened. They paid for the tow truck to move my car to their auto shop. After inspection, they informed me that the oil filter housing O-ring seal failed, causing the oil to leak all over my engine bay. They said it was a manufacturer defect. They spent Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning cleaning my engine bay to get rid of any residual oil. They told me the next oil change will be on the house as well. Despite of this unfortunate incident that made me car-less for 3 days, I think they handled this issue with the utmost sincerity and professionalism. After all, they didn't make a penny for 2 oil changes (1 in the future) and a towing service. My car is back to normal with brand new oil and filter. For that, I thank them.

I called on Friday, June 16th to see if I could schedule an appointment for the next day, Saturday, June 17th. I was told that they were only open on the first Saturday of each month. Fine, not a problem. I scheduled an appointment for the following Friday, June 23rd, in the morning. The Thursday before my appointment I called in to confirm my appointment time because I forgot what time I scheduled the appointment, only to find out they never put me in their system. The person I spoke to apologized and said they were having issues with their system on the 16th, then asked me what time I would like to come in on Friday. I scheduled an appointment for 8:30 AM. I come in at 8:30 AM to find out they didn't put me in again, as the person at the front desk couldn't find any information on my appointment. They said they would add me in. At 9 AM, they still weren't working on my oil change. I took two hours off work to get an oil change done. I go up and tell them that I have to be at work by 10 AM. They said they'll get working on it. My car doesn't get started on until around 9:30 AM, and they finish after 10 AM. I had an appointment at 8:30 and it took them about an hour and 45 minutes to do an oil change. The reason it took them so long to get around to my car is because they were finishing up a repair or something on someone else's car and messed that person's car up. A ton of smoke was coming out of that car's exhaust and they couldn't figure out what the issue was so they had 3-4 people looking at that car's engine.I came here once before for a tire balancing. That went well, until I left and was about a mile down the road when I realized they never put my wheel lock back in my car, so I had to turn back around to go get that.Service: Oil change

I think this was my best auto repair experience ever. Paul is friendly and clear in his communication. He told me exactly what was needed and why and whether it could be postponed. He told me exactly what it would cost, and the repairs were done when he said they would be done for the price he quoted. The car runs perfectly. It was not inexpensive, but the charges were fair for such excellent service. I had a flat tire and while trying to remove the tire I twisted off a lug bolt. I called Paul at Walt's Auto to see if they could fit me in that day? Paul said sure. I also ask Paul if they could repair my tire also Paul said they currently weren't doing that kind of repair but not to worry he would see that it got taken care of. While the stud was being replaced they checked serpentine belts and found cracks and recommended they be changed. I had been wanting to get the belts changed because those are the original belts and the car has 67,600 miles on it so it was time I had just forgot to get it done so I was glad the mechanic caught that before it became a big problem later.
