We had a lovely stay at the Rio Sierra Riverhouse for a last minute trip up to Sequoia National Park. The property is a short drive to the national park entrance (after which there is a long and twisty drive up the hill to get to the big trees!). As well as enjoying seeing the national park, we really enjoyed our time spent at the property which has great views and some lovely outdoor seating areas that overlook the river. Our room was very comfortable, and they provided a bed for our 7 month old baby which was very kind of them. We very much hope to come back one day!

A true hidden gem! My family and I were very happy with the Rio Sierra Riverhouse! What a beautiful place, so clean with all the amenities you need. Your backyard is the river, you have your own private oasis, you have restaurants within miles and a store down the street! Beautiful scenery and drive to the Sequoia's (pictures do no justice). You have everything there you need. Highly recommended! It was a pleasure coming across Mar's as we were leaving and meeting her personally. Such a sweet and nice person! Thanks for the hospitality Mar's! We will be back!

Lovely little hotel, we enjoyed our stay here very much. Behind the hotel is a beautiful river which is great for playing in, and there are lots of chairs and little tables just for sitting outside and relaxing. There is even a hammock too! Rooms are very clean and tidy, there are some bugs of course, but it is in the wilderness so that is expected. We decided to stay here to visit the nearby national parks, and the location was very convenient. Highly recommend this hotel, especially if visiting the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.

If you are looking for a quiet, quaint, classy and close-to-Sequoia place to stay, this is it. The panorama room worked out well for our family of 4. The kitchen has a lot of space to prep, eat and store food. The views of the river/mountains from the room/porch are beautiful. The property is huge with multiple areas to sit, relax, eat and watch the kids skip rocks. Mars was incredibly helpful and kind and responsive.

The property is everything it advertises. Clean, well maintained, a little campy and a lot of cool. The river is amazing, the room was all you need and we had no issues. Everything worked and the support is there if you need it. We were there during a 'non-swimming' season, so we didn't get in the river, but just being on it was very special. Would recommend and will tell friends and acquaintances that are traveling in the area that this is the place they need to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay, ( Room #1) Charming place like a comfy house with a wonderful view of the river. Great place for couples or small family, I loved the privacy of being on private property and encounter friendly staff. Also was able to take some wonderful pictures w/out lots of people in the background, lolWill definitely be returning again!!

I just stayed at the Rio Sierra for the 3rd or 4th time. It is my go to place to stay in Three Rivers. The entire groove always feels like a vacation, from the furniture to the views, the "set dressing", the whole nine yards. Such a great place to stay. And last but certainly not least is the attention that is provided by Mars and Deborah. Awesome!

By FAR the best in the area. Very beautiful setting regardless what room u reserve. Easy walking to the river and small to medium waterfalls. Easy swimming in the river pools. I really have nothing bad to say about this place besides its exclusivity hence the mention of planning months in advance. Rooms may seem pricey but it is totally worth every penny. The staff are an absolute joy to have around. Gardens are magnificent. BBQ is on site and very nice so bring a cooler with some steaks or stuff for burgers if that's your jib. Propane fire pit up top and fire pit down by the shore, make sure to ask about wood for the fire pit as they have hours for when it is available. I plan on visiting again just to stay on the property, but the park is a very short drive either way. Mars is the owner and she will do whatever she can to accommodate your stay there.

Awesome place! Better than what I was expecting. The owner, the staff, everyone very kind. The view is great, the 20 feet away river is an amazing place to have fun. We came in summer time, the weather was perfect to swim in the river and go hiking to the sequoia park. We will be back next summer!

Wonderful place. Beautiful nature. Lovely people. Nice details like flowers in the room. Grilling marshmallows in the evening. Awesome breakfast! Best place to stay when you visit the Sequoia nationalpark even with kits. Could stay even a few days longer just to relax and hang loose :-)

Stayed here many times over the years, very tranquil with the river flowing right by and quiet atmosphere. Owner and staff are very accommodating and courteous. Every room is different(stayed in all of them), the master suite is the best with room for at least 6-8 ppl. Has private balcony as well. They light 2 fire pits at night so you can enjoy a glass of wine with the other guests under the stars. This place is worth coming to, you will find yourself wanting to spend more time here after your first visit as it's very relaxing.

Five stars because our room and amenities exceeded my expectations. First of all, my husband and I stayed two nights here with our 14 month old son to celebrate our second anniversary and they provided a *clean* pack and play/crib for our boy! That meant so much to me... we were going to let him sleep with us but thankfully we were able to enjoy our nights together here. The location is about 1.5 hours from the entrance to Sequoia National Park but I would have rather stayed at Rio Sierra instead of gone to see the big trees. The river was SO much fun. To anyone with kids, I was surprised to see that some previous guests layed out rocks near the shore to create two 'kiddie pools' which allowed our son to have fun and let us feel more secure about having him in the river.A few things I adored were all of the private and relaxing spots to sit down in the shade or even in a hammock. The towels provided were large and soft, easy to find and smelled like honey, oh my they smelled SO GOOD. Mars seemed to have a green thumb (like myself) so I REALLY loved what she did/does with the place. She has utilized every inch of that place to grow gorgeous foliage/flowers.Our room was gorgeous and inviting. I felt very comfortable and the shower/tub had a giant moon light above it and a large potted plant sitting on the tile beneath the light. I will include a photo. What a romantic bathroom with more than a few night light/lamps and plenty of counter space. We had breakfast once made by Deborah($15) and once made by Mars($10) and although Mars was smaller, and they were both healthy and wholesome. You can make special requests ahead of time by texting Mars.In closing I would like to mention how kind and well spoken Mars is. I was coming around a corner to get something from our room when I was greeted by Mars big smile, hand on her hip, asking, "are you my guest?". She was kind enough to unexpectedly serve us ice cold hibiscus tea while we were relaxing under the shade after a swim. She answered all of my questions and even told us the detailed story of how she acquired Rio Sierra, who built it, etc. The house was already charming but that just added to it.In closing, I have a few cons to note for future guests. If you or anyone you are staying with is a light sleeper, be aware of the squeaky old wood flooring. I grew up in a house with squeaky wood flooring so although it was nostalgic, it made walking to the bathroom with a sleeping baby in the room quite a mission. Also, our bed was comfortable (especially the pillows) but squeaky as well. If you are afraid of lizards, they are everywhere. It really gives the place more character. I love reptiles but I also know some scaredy cats.My last comment is on a charge we had after we left the river house. We were confused about a 'room cleaning fee' of $25 so I gave Mars a call simply to ask if we had made a mess or something of the sort. I had never seen a separate charge for a room cleaning. Mars explained why they do it that way and quickly offered to credit us back the $25. How sweet of her! We just cannot wait to go back to Rio Sierra!

Wonderful place to spend few days vacation. Great for families. The unit is right by the river wich is awesome. The place is an 2 in 1 for picnic and your lodging too, and is near by some good attractions. The service is excellent as well led by the owner herself!

Lovely stay here with my family. We were brought a basket with marshmellos, graham crackers, and chocolate to make s'mores by the fire. We were able to sit right next to the river and be in touch with nature. Highly recommend, we wish we could have stayed longer.

This is a very nice and comfortable B&B. All rooms are self contained with the team own amenities. Breakfast is served on the verandah overlooking the river and is a delight of eggs, cereal with fruit and yoghurt OJ, and coffee. Home made jams with bagles, crossaints, and muffins. The owner and staff were very friendly and gave good recommendations for local places to eat in the small town of Three Rivers just down the road.Would highly recommend this place.

Stayed in the RV. Was a bit unsure what to expect but it was great fun. The RV was tiny of course but we spent most of our time outside relaxing, BBQing and looking at the beautiful river views. Would highly recommend.
