Great place, amazing work, fast turn around. These guys sell and install catalytic converter shields as well! Don't be like me and spend thousands due to theft, protect your car. get your cat a shield.

I had my brake pads and rotors replaced by Ismael and it was a great experience here! Not only did they come in significantly cheaper than other auto shops but he had my car finished within a couple of hours. Service was very efficient and great price. Brought our van here a couple of years ago for a muffler replacement, this time it needed a new cat converter, unfortunately the guys here couldn t do the job as it s a dealer only job which I suspected but I d rather go to an independent shop. I appreciated their honesty and will be back for any other exhaust or muffler jobs.

These guys are great. The best price( I shopped around) and quality workmanship. Iv been here atleast 4 times over the past 17 years for various exhaust systems and acessories.

I called several local shops before going to American Muffler. But I chose this shop because of the great reviews I read.In the end, I am SO happy with the excellent work they did on my Honda. It's so difficult to find an honest mechanic and these guys are honest!The owner, gave me a great estimate to replace my pipe and muffler and that was what I paid.They customized a pipe to keep me from having to pay for extra parts I didn't need.The factory pipe came with an extra muffler and he told me I didn't need it! I was more than happy to save a significant amount of money by replacing ONLY the parts my car DID need.They even did the work quickly and I had my car back within a few hours.I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for an honest mechanic and will take any of the other cars in my household there without a second thought or calls to other shops for estimates.Thank you American Muffler for doing such a fantastic job!! You have a customer for life!!

I been to Dirk at least 5 times over the years and it's always the same experience. He gets the job done quickly without sacrificing quality. Good guy and honest hardworking business owner. Best muffler shop in TO.

I took my 2009 vehicle in for service. They put my car on the lift almost immediately and gave me a couple options on how I could resolve my exhaust issue. One hour later i got a call to pick up my car and its been A OK since. Great spot in the conejo valley. If you grew up or have lived in this area for many years its a must to check this place out. 5/5 stars no doubt about it.

Dirk's schedule was very flexible and he gave me a great price on my dual exhaust system, hundreds less than anyone else. He helped me pick out exactly what I wanted, and finished the installation in a timely matter. To this day I can't stop looking at the back of my truck; this man puts full effort into his work.

I bought a bolt on replacement catalytic converter to install myself but ran into all sorts of unforeseen issues (I do not weld). I would never buy online expecting a shop to install the parts for me but got myself in a jam this time. Dirk helped me out and did a great job installing the cat. Months later I had a small welding job that he did for me. I returned a couple weeks later to have a new Magnaflow muffler installed. Dirk and American Muffler are A+ in my book!

Needed a catalytic converter/exhaust manifold replaced on an older car. Dirk have me good service, fast installation, and a fair price. I've used them before and will use them again when the need arises. Highly recommend.

The previous owner of my Jeep had put an aftermarket exhaust on my car that was poorly installed and had a leak in the front section somewhere. I took the Jeep to one of American Muffler's competitors who lay on the ground under the Jeep, looked for a few mins and then told me it would take him at least a full day to re-bend and weld the exhaust, and even then he didn't know if he'd find the leak.So I took it to American Muffler and Radiator where they put the Jeep up on a lift and gave her a pretty thorough inspection before pointing out that there was a missing nut on the manifold that was probably the cause of the leak, and quoted me an hour's labor to turn the exhaust properly, get it on the hangers right, and tack weld the joints in the new position.They did the work on time, as promised, and the Jeep is transformed. Great value, great service. I'm a customer for life and will recommend this shop to anyone. You only need to look at the way they keep the shop - clean, tidy, organized - and contrast this with other outfits, and you'll get a sense of the level of professionalism you find here.

excellent service! They were quick and honest with repair my car. I went to several other shops,who want to overcharge me for the repairs I needed and their time to fix my car. These guys got the job done right!

I came here to get my 2018 Mustang Ecoboost mufflers removed. They suggested i remove 2 of my 3 mufflers so I did. After a few hours and a very reasonable price, It was ready to go! I think I may come back so that I could get my 3rd muffler removed too.

These guys are con artists. Brought my car in at about 4pm 2/20/20 and was told by Ishmael that they were busy and to come back tomorrow. Was quoted $60 for a job. Came in the morning 2/21/20 right at opening, was again told $60, Ishmael gets my car up on the lift and tells me that he can t work on it because of a previous exhaust modification (part he was to work on was separate) but that he would do it for $100. I told him to drop the car. Extremely distasteful and unprofessional. I have video and audio recording from my dash camera of the entire ordeal. DO NOT COME HERE!!!

11/2016 I Brought my BMW in for custom muffler. After the work was completed I noticed the tips were not aligned properly. I brought it back next day to be fixed. The owner said "I wash my hands of this, you'll never be happy" He kept my money and refused to fix his shoddy work. Terrible welding, terrible service, horrible sound. BE WARE OF THIS. Go to Artz Muffler auto repair & body shop instead. Half the price, great service and AMAZING work. Tell them Ivan sent you.

They did a great job installing a catalytic converter I had purchased online (Next time I will just purchase the converter from American Muffler. Buying online is risky, especially when trying to meet California emissions standards. Also fitment is a big risk, which is why I wound up looking for muffler shop.)

Dirk and his right hand man, Ismiel, did a great job at a fair price, in a timely manner, replacing son's CAT in his 1998 VW Passat.We are very pleased with the work and the service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AMERICAN MUFFLER, BRAKE & RADIATOR at 1320 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks, CA under the ownership of Dirk.Don't let Dirk's seeming lack of enthusiasm over the phone deter you. :-) I joked with him about it, which he good naturedly absorbed with a dry sense of humor. He strikes me as a mellow, old school shop owner which I find refreshing in comparison to some of the money grubbing, fast talking scoundrels who unnecessarily charge you just to plug in a OBDII!It turned out that the replacement took longer than expected so labor costs would have been more but he kept his word on the written estimate and that's what I paid. Did he lose money because of it? Well, you be the judge. He has a customer for life and this glowing review, which, hopefully will bring more customers to his shop. We drove over from Fillmore, left the car overnight and would do it again.I made three phone calls and stopped by two shops before contacting American Muffler. Yes, 6 estimates in Ventura County! But they ranged upwards of $1,500!! I paid about $700.The two local shops were more expensive, (not too outrageously) and couldn't get to the repairs for another week.The 3 shops contacted over the phone tried to run a fast one on us and tack on an extra $115 just to read the codes they were going to have to run anyway! Of course, the $115 would be applied to repairs if you had the work done there. Hogwash! That was $115 average... just to give me an estimate! What the.... ? You plug in the OBDII code reader. It clues you in. That's what it's for!. It's not a tool to use as an excuse to gouge customers. We already had the codes from the smog test but theses guys needed to run their own. To heck with the State mandated, Star Qualified printed results! They wanted money for nothing.Please People, don't allow this to become the status quo. Customers need to take a stand. DO NOT PAY $115 or even .15 cents for a shop to "run a diagnostic check'" and read the OBDII! Sure, they'll say there is more to it and there very well may be in some cases but that's part of the job called SERVICE!I'll take my cars to the good ol' boys where service is service and integrity still holds merit.Thanks, Dirk and your right hand man, Ismiel, at AMERICAN MUFFLER, BRAKE & REPAIR in Thousand Oaks. <3~Deborah G.Fillmore, CA

They know what they are talking about in the place. They will not try to pressure you into getting work done. They encourage you to do your research about the exhaust you want to buy. Fair prices and speedy service.

The guy was so rude to me and as he was shoveling his breakfast sandwich in his mouth he said I ll have to come back cause he was closing shop. It was 11:30 a.m. and he posts that he s open until 1:00 p.m. not going back.

Came in with an exhaust hanger snapped on my truck at the end of the day. They had it welded and reenforsed in 20 minutes. Thank you guys
