Golden State Smog is the best place to get work done on your car! I wouldn't go anywhere else. They are very caring and knowledgeable mechanics. The office staff is also very caring and helpful! My husband and I have been going there since 2003, when we first moved to California. I would highly recommend them!

This was the fastest Smog Check I have ever had. Daniel took my Jeep Cherokee right in, and it was finished in 15 minutes. Diego was running the office and did the paper work. He was courteous, efficient, and polite. This was a very pleasant experience for me!

Have used them on and off for 10 years. Now I will only use for smog and oil as pretty sure that s all they want to do. I asked for them to put in a new battery since mine is 5 yrs and didn t want to wait to get stranded. Easy money for them. Nope. Told me it was charging fine. I didn t ask to charge or test. Literally asked for them to do it. 2nd, asked for a radiator flush. Nope. Told me fluids were fine. Again, I ve owned vehicle 7 years and asked them to do it. Easy money. Asked to check front brakes and or pack bearings because of loud squeaking that is intermittent. All I got told is pads were at 60%. I asked to then check bearings and they didn t.I m now left to find new mechanic that wants to actually do work. I m out $350 for an oil change, four spark plugs, a cabin air filter that probably wasn t needed and a coolant check. Just wow.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

I had my car smog checked at Golden State Smog, and I was blown away by the outstanding service I received. Daniel and his team did a fantastic job checking my car and caught issues that I would have never noticed on my own. I am truly grateful for their attention to detail and expertise.What impressed me the most was the professionalism and efficiency of the staff. They completed the smog check in a timely manner and had me back on the road in no time. The care and attention to detail shown by Daniel and his team were truly exceptional.Overall, I would highly recommend Golden State Smog to anyone looking for a trustworthy and reliable smog check. Perfection is a myth, I usually anticipate some things not going well and try to be fair with my review. For this particular location I can t really say anything positive. From Daniel the supposed owner down to the lady who answers the phone this place is 1star worthy. If you appreciate above the table business and customer service look elsewhere.

My Dad was a mechanic, as he got older and less able to fix our cars he started taking them to golden state. Good prices and great communication, can't ask for anything better.

This place was recommended by the speedy smog that was basically around the block. They said they couldn't do my Jeep and sent me here instead. I called ahead and they just told me to go ahead and walk-in. I basically walked in and walked out because the service here was so quick and affordable. Thankful for the recommendation because after this i was able to run to the DMV across and get my tags done instantly. This place just made it so easy.

I had them do a diagnosis and repair for a leak in my evap system. Their prices were fair and they seem real honest. The price they charged for the replacement sensor was a good deal, it would have cost me an extra $100 +tax to buy that part online.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

We have been using Golden State for decades now. We started with just smog check then brake service, AC check, catalytic converter replacement, cam shaft repair and others. The shop is super!

I have been getting my car serviced here for three years. It started off with basic oil changes and moved on to more advanced work. I love this place because great mechanics are hard to find. Ally, who works at the front desk, is very knowledgeable and helpful. I have never been taken advantaged of and they have always done great work at fair pricing. Services will only be suggested if there is actual work that needs to be done. They have never suggested unnecessary services to take advantage of my lack of understanding. Thank you, Ally and team for providing stellar service!

The most unprofessional place I ve ever been too! After Daniel promised a refund I went in and he declined my refund. Told me he doesn t wanna talk to me and leave. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!

Daniel the owner is nice and seems to be fair, but the guy he always has work on my car is a complete ahole. I have asked him about the car and he ignores me and seems like he does not care about the customers or there cars.the secretary is ok but she always quoted me higher price then the owner does.. i have been going there for a while but am going to find another mechanic prices are too hi and unfriendly mechanic.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes, A/C installation & repair, Air conditioning, Oil change

One of the worst shops I have been too! Very unprofessional! Do not waste your time here! They re prices are very over priced too!! Daniel is a very unprofessional mechanic.

It is really hard to find an honest mechanic, we all know that. This is one of the few places you can trust. I restore old cars and have worked on cars for over 20 years. If there something that I do not want to do, these guys take car of it for me and when they do their inspections, they are spot on with the information/ suggestions they provide. If you're looking for an honest and reasonably price shop to get your car worked on, this is the place.

I have an 87 Chevy El Camino and I get all my smog and engine work done here. It's passed smog the 3 times so far, and they've kept it running smooth.

I am a Do-it-yourself Home mechanic. When it's beyond my abilities I go to Golden State Smog.It's rare to find a bona fide honest Shop & Owner.Golden State's the Place. And Danny is your man!Repeat Customer. No complaints. Only praise.I've been through a lot of Local Shops over the years ( don't get me started about Top Tech Auto & Sons or McGrath Auto)...If you want a good, professional and honest job done- without the fear of being screwed over-Call Golden State!Bob Edmiston

Took my Sequoia here for rear shocks and these are the silly airbag suspension setup with shocks. I had bought my tires nearby at Disount Tire and those guys can change tires but they could not figure out what part to use for those rear shocks. Golden State, the owner looked at it and was totally confident he could have the shocks ordered and installed by lunch time. He went above and beyond. Even found the source of a noise I could hear when going over bumps...said I needed the sway bar links replaced, even showed me so I could see they were moving around and tore up. Discount Tire had said everything there looked great. LOL. Now I'm changing my oil here too bc they use Mobile. When you love what you do it shows in your work and Golden State Smog does tons of other mechanical work you can count on!!Services: Steering & suspension repair, Oil change

I've been getting my smog check here for approx. 10 years! I've always received quality service and passed all smog tests. Today I was surprised because I called before business opened but left no message! Daniel was nice enough return my call to see what I needed! Thank you Daniel!

Took my car in because it was running hot I thought I was the water pump that needed replaced turns out it wasn t the water pump it was some minor but they still charged me for a water pump service. So I asked to see the old water pump and the lady at the counter proceeded to tell me that they dispose of them as soon as they take em off which I felt she was lying about I d never take my car here again nor will I recommend anyone going here!!!Service: Air conditioning

If i could give you guys no stars i would. I get here and i was quoted one price by "the owner" and the secretary quoted me a different price. Since when does a secretary override the owner? The secretary was rude from the beginning and pretty much doubled the price i was quoted. I will not be back. On top of my yelp review she decides to tell everyone what i wrote on that site. BRAVO!!

It's really nice when something as mundane as getting a smog check can be a pleasant experience. They did a great job, was really quick, and cheaper than anyone else in the neighborhood. Highly recommend him.

Disappointed in the work done on my vehicle. Parts were left unplugged and some things taped as I found out after taking it to the actually dealer for inspection which has cost me more in repairs to fix their mistakes. Bummer, because I had recommended them to friends and family.

Honest, fast and friendly service.Took my highlander for a smog check and was in and out within 25 min. They had an offer for $30 including certificate.
