I was passing through and had transmission problems. They took me in immediately and diagnosed it for the amount they said it would cost. They gave the bad news that I needed a rebuild but helped me sort out a way to get home. Friendly, honest and knowledgeable. I recommend this shop.

Great shop and great people!! Car broke down on our way home and they dropped us off to the Enterprise to rent a car. Highly recommend coming here for any car-related needs!!! Wish I could give 10 stars. Straight ~vibes~.

Wow-Talk about service. My RV warning light came on and I just pulled in off the side of the freeway. It was 3:00 in the afternoon, these guys were really busy, but they came up to me, diagnosed with the problem, ordered the parts, had the parts delivered and then installed the parts while I was sitting there. All this on a Tuesday afternoon. Price was great, service was fantastic, the people were as friendly as can be and very informative. I would recommend this business to anyone. By the way I went to the RV place but they didn't service the drive chain so they sent me here. Even though this is a transmission business they worked on my engine with no problem. Very expert.

Courteous, quick and knowledgeable mechanics. My work was completed quickly and with no problems or concerns. I will definitely come back if i need any additional service. If you love dogs they have two wonderful pups in the main office. If you don't like dogs then just a heads up, but they are super friendly and calm.

I was given a diagnostic quote of $150 to drop the pan to find my transmission issue and when I dropped off my truck it became an additional $100 service charge. Was told I needed a transmission rebuild and if I didn t do it I had to either pay $443 to put it back together or tow my truck back with the parts in the bed. I was not advised that there would be charges to put it back together before taking it to them. They wanted an additional $860 for further diagnostics because they said there was a piece of the snap ring for the overdrive hub in the pan and also the price of a rebuild. When I told them I would pay the $443 and not do the rebuild I received a call that they could fix the issue for $777. It was just a sensor problem. Very shady. Weird how it was fixed for $777.

I brought my RV in because I had a transmission filter warning light go off and a low coolant warning. Brandon quickly diagnosed the issues and provided me a quote. They did a great job and repairs were done on time. I'm posting this for my friend Aleta McCormick."As a 74 yr old woman who lives alone in the mountains and knows nothing about cars, these people have taken fantastic care of me! They are honest and fair and have gone out of their way to accomodate my weird timing when I need something done! Recently as I was driving to work, 4 hrs awayto the LA area, my transmission decided to stop. I had my car towed to what the driver told me was a very good automotive place and they quoted that it was the transmission and that it would be around $5000 to fix it. For me, that was an impossible amount to snap my fingers to come up with immediately so I had my car towed home. I called my friends a Tehachapi Transmissions and asked what they would charge. $4100! That's an incredibly HUGE difference in price and they rushed the job through so I could get to my next job. The other place would have made me wait 2 weeks and I would be out of work! The transmission was done, put in and running perfect!! Then, a couple weeks later, as I was driving along my dirt road going home there was a loud crash in the back of the car. It turns out the cage where the spare tire sits broke and the whole thing was dragging behind the car. I managed to mickey mouse it with rope to secure it until I got home. I needed to leave in two days for work and was freaking out after the transmission fiasco. I called Tehachapi Transmissions and asked if they could help me. Since I needed to leave for work in 2 days, they told me I could bring it in the morning that I had to leave for work and they would look at it. They took my car right in, did their magic, the guy came out to explain he fixed it, and then my favorite head guy, Brandon, came out. When I asked what my fee was, he said "no charge! Go to work.Be safe! " I can't recommend this place more! Not only are they honest, efficient, kind, and fair, there is A LOT of eye candy walking around there! And my dog loves their 2 dogs as we sit in the waiting room while work is being done! Ypu cannot go wrong with Tehachapi Transmissions! They epitomize everything that a small town should be! "

I had a great experience with this shop. They worked on my suburban for most of the day. They fit me in and ended up replacing two parts. My problem is complex and since they have to find the electrical issue we tried the obvious first. No charge for the parts that didn t fix it. They only charged me for one hour of labor when it was really more like 4 hours. I sat in the shop and listened to the guys and to the integrity and kindness they showed all their customers. They could have easily gotten away with charging for easy fixes but instead told customers the truth with no charge. They had a very cute dog that I got to play with too! Great people and so happy there are wonderful people in the auto industry like these folks. Use them!

I was traveling for work on Friday @ 3:00 pm when my truck broke down. I thought for sure I would be stuck for the weekend and end up with thousands of dollars in repairs. I was offroading in the desert and my heavily modified Chevy Blazer broke down. We were able to zip-tie and bubble gum it together enough to get almost as far as Tehachapi Transmissions, a shop my friend in the area recommended. Had to be towed the last couple of miles, but then my luck changed. I had doubts on finding a mechanic to work on something we had already taken apart and frankensteined together to get it there. Even more doubt that anyone would be able to figure out what was wrong. Brandon, though, was nice enough to really make an effort to get someone to take a look for us, even though they said they were booked up, and couldn't do the repairs until the next week. When I explained the bind I was in, and that I was from out of town, he met the challenge...not only did they figure out what was wrong, they had it fixed and back to me by 6 pm that night. Two guys stayed late to get me on my way....If that's not old-fashioned good business, I don't know what is. Instead of taking advantage of the situation, they looked at it from my side, and helped me out...Truly appreciated, I only wish they were closer so I could take my truck there for everything. By the way, this isn't a transmission shop. They do everything...my problem was an ignition coil and the ignition switch caused by some loose contacts in the steering column. According to Brandon, they do it all but tires, and there's a shop for that next door!Thanks again for the help on a stranded motorist, guys, and if I'm ever up your way again, I will definitely stop in! I've had good experiences and take my car here regularly. Each individual takes time to listen, explain and give options. Besides that, they are trustworthy to do the right thing and friendly. They have gone out of their way and done extra things too.

The people that work there are very nice and thank you to Brandon and Efron for all your help. I had to have my transmission rebuild along with my transfer case and a few other parts as well. They took there time with me knowing I am a pain but very much willing to deal with me. Both Brandon and Efron where willing to show me everything that was going on with my truck and to let me know what need to be done know and what could wait till I got paid again.I did have a hiccup but they took care of it and did an amazing job on what needed to be fix. My truck shifts so we ll know and runs well for its age (1995 ram 1500).With all that being said I will be coming back and have them do more work on other cars that I own and would tell anybody else to go there. There transmission work is great and they are local so they stand by you and there work.Thank you all not just Brandon and Efron all the staff is nice and I love your music too:)Service: Transmission

I was going to go to the dealer but I am so glad I stayed local... These guys did a great job on my Jeep Cherokee. Very professional and they found the problems and repaired them fast! I would highly recommend them for any mechanical repair not just Transmissions!

It cost 80 dollars to remove a gear off of a countershaft and put it on another. 5-10min worth of work was charged .8hrs. Seems excessive but everyone was nice that s a plus.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

They went above and beyond to get me back on the road. I had an interview upstate and need to leave a day earlier and they got the parts to get me on the road to get upstate. Thank you so much! I definitely recommend using them to do repairs/maintenance to your vehicle!

Tehachapi transmissions took us in on a Friday afternoon at closing time, after me and my family had been turned away by 2 other auto repair shops, when we were over 600 miles away from home, they did not have to help us, but they chose to. They not only fixed our transmission problem but they found another problem and fixed it too. For all of that we thank Tehachapi transmissions and recommend them to anyone. (Even if you re from Humboldt County)

I took my truck to tahachapi transmission to have my bellhousing and flexplate replaced. They did a great job for less money than I expected to pay. There were even some small problems that were fixed without charging me. My truck runs better and shifts better than it has in years. Tahachapi Transmission will be my shop of choice from now on.

I've been taking my cars/trucks to Tehachapi Transmission for many years(at least 10).Let me say first and foremost...no mechanic is perfect...all shops make occasional mistakes...but...it's extremely hard to find an honest shop.Being mechanically inclined myself... I can do alot of my own work but(but not all) sometimes prefer not to...what I'm trying to say is I've caught "other"(read..NOT Tehachapi Transmission) shops in lies in the past when it comes to working on my rides. I've even had one shop across the tracks take my muscle cars for "joy rides"...I caught them myself when they thought I had left the shop but immediately came back...the shop across the track were hot-rodding my cars....Twice.Tehachapi Transmission has always been extremely honest. They've fixed dozens of issues with at least half a dozen of my cars over the years.My whole family will continue to stay loyal to Tehachapi Transmission. They are kind , honest and hard working people.

I would highly recommend this shop to all the people that drive Class A or Class C RV's... they are very reasonable, and are not looking to rip people off!!! I am going to travel to Tehachapi any day to have them service my Class A.... I am going to tell everyone to go to them!!! I've been going here for years and they do way more than just transmissions. They are "real" mechanics who fix the problem based on sound experience...not just computer readouts. I trust them implicitly and they have always treated me fairly.
