This is the lodge we return to every time we head to Tahoe! The staff is friendly, the cabins are so comfy, well-stocked and clean and quaint, and the location is very central. It's right off the highway and one block across from beach access. Unfortunately, this year we had a family emergency and had to cancel. Charlie, the manager, was VERY flexible and gave us a full refund, which was OVER and ABOVE the cancellation policy. We will never go anywhere else in Tahoe! Check out Cedar Glen!

Our stay at this property was fantastic. The room is super cute and clean - the pictures do it justice. But the view of Lake Tahoe is NOT properly captured by the listing. It's more spectacular than we expected. The site is easy to access, near Tahoe Vista shops, and has beach access (but you do need to cross a busy street). On site there's a lovely gas fire and they offer smore kits. There's also a nice hot tub year round and (in warmer months) a pool. We absolutely enjoyed our stay over the Christmas holiday and will be back in the future!

Simply the Best! Very Cozy and relaxing place to stay as a family Getaway with our 2 small kids for 4 nights. This place is super clean, and our room came with a jacuzzi which was a plus to stay in with my husband while our kids fell asleep. We had a spectacular view of winter wonderland. This place has a kitchen with all the utensils necessary for the kitchen. We also grilled when it snowed heavily outside and made it extra special. Also we took advantage of the fire pit to make s'mores with our babies. Last but not least, service was exceptional and makes you feel like home. Shaun and Kristy were very pleasant and helpful! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!! Definitely recommend this quiet, cozy, kids friendly, and very beautiful gem!Rooms: Very clean and cozy!

We had a fantastic time at Cedar Glen Lodge and you will too! This place is so cute and they really take care of you. There is a hot tub that me and the kids LOVED after a day of skiing, and a fire with s'mores every night - how cool! We stayed in a room with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen and it was perfect for us because we have two kids (10 and 3) and we all kind of need our separate space to sleep well and have fun.The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is a couple of small details with the room itself. (1) I noticed there was no deadbolt on the door, which may not be a big deal for you unless you have small children, in which case you might be worried about them getting out of the room at night while you sleep, depending on your kid. It's pretty easy for even a small child to turn the handle to open the door from the inside, so as a mom this was a bit of a safety concern. Luckily nothing of this sort happened to us, but every kid is different. (2) The interior doors in the room are made of frosted glass rather than being solid wood or completely opaque. This looks pretty, but what it meant for us was that when us adults were awake and had our lights on, it kept up the kids as well! We figured it out, but it was a minor hiccup.Other than the two issues above, we had a great time and we look forward to returning!

We stayed in Cedar Glaen Lodge for 2 nights recently and really enjoyed the stay. The receptionists at the front desk were very helpful giving us recommendations and suggestions. They also have a good discount ski package, though we couldn't take advantage of it as we'd booked our ski package before we arrived. The location is super. All in all, we'll come back when we visit Lake Tahoe again.

Overall I don't think I would book here again.Room Positives: Layout was nice, dcor, was great, amentias were also great. Outlets everywhere! Loved that as well.Room Negatives: Mini fridge and heater were so loud, overpriced, and very bad cancelation policy. Thin walls.Service: Everyone was nice enough, the "bring your own wine bar" was not what I was expecting when they said "wine bar". Rooms are only cleaned if you ask, so you have to either find an employee or call the front desk.Location: Great for summer, too far from ski resorts in the winter.

Absolutely love this place! As soon as we came in, we were greeted by a man who works the night shift. He was very kind and gave us info on spots we should visit and gave us a little smores bag to use at the fireplace. The rooms were very clean and comfy with a fire place. It s also right across the street from Lake Tahoe. Highly recommend!

We were celebrating a birthday weekend and wanted to do something different. We've always talked about going to a cabin in the mountains near a lake and around snow. We got our wish! The cabin we stayed in was more than we expected! When we arrived they had already started the gas potbelly stove and had the cabin so warm and cozy and left a personal note welcoming us to the lodge. The cabin was a stand alone (with no shared walls ) and reminded us of one of those cute cabins you see in a movie. Just perfect for a romantic couples get away. The full size kitchen made it even better to cook a nice romantic dinner for 2. The staff was friendly and informative of things close by and access to the lake across the street. Made for a nice brisk walk. They had a bonfire every night in the fire pit area in the middle of the lodge and if in the mood, they had s'mores available to make too! We had such a beautiful weekend and even made a trip down to Heavenly for some shopping and then drove around the Lake to enjoy the beautiful view coming full circle around and enjoying all the beautiful snow and scenery. Even stopped at a casino to gamble a bit. I could go on and on, but I will say that this is only the first of many stays planned at this wonderful place. If you are looking for peace and quiet away with family or just your honey, this is the place for you. Thank you Cedar Glen Lodge for an amazing and beautiful place to stay! Helped me make a wonderful 60th Birthday surprise for my main squeeze! He loved it and didn't want to leave! We'll definitely be back.

We have been coming to Cedar Glen for the past 9 years, usually staying for about a week. The location, cabin and site amenities are great. After our stay summer of 2022, the property changed ownership. We were hopeful that our experience this past August would be just as memorable. Unfortunately, that was not the case.tl;dr - Checked into same cabin we have stayed in past years to find: dirty dishes in the dishwasher, bedding that gave my son bug bites in the back of his neck, and old sponge for kitchen use. Asked housekeeping to change linens due to bug bites, and what we received was a plastic bag dumped in front of our door with new pillows in them. Staff was unknowledgeable or unwilling to help with basic request.**************Details:1) After the first night, my son woke up with 3 bites on the back of his neck. After a 2nd night where he had 4 more bites in his neck, I asked the front desk to have someone change the sheets and pillows. Also asked for bath towel replacement and informed her that we would be out at 11 am. She said housekeeping would take care of it around 11:30 and made a note.We returned at 5:45 pm and found a plastic bag with 2 pillows and 4 bath towels dumped in front of our door. I had made sure the Do Not Disturb sign was NOT on the door when we left. So they were expecting us to change it ourselves? Went to the reception, but no one was there. Tracked down the employee onsite and told him the situation, but all I got was I m sorry I don t know anything about this. We don t have any housekeeping staff here right now. When I asked how this can be fixed, he repeated that there was no note left and no one he can call to change the sheets. I pointed out that there was a note left, otherwise, why did someone dump pillows / towels in front of our door? After that, he said there may have been some note, but he wasn t aware of it. He could give me more pillows and make a note on the situation for the manager the next day.For $500-$600+ a night, I expect this to be resolved. In the past 9 years we have been coming to Cedar Glen, we have never received bug bites from pillows.I met the manager the next day, and he took responsibility, said the situation should not have been handled that way, and offered to have housecleaning do another clean. I appreciated that but told him it wasn't needed, since that specific issue was resolved by us changing the linens ourselves, there were no new bug bites the subsequent night, and I had done another wipe down of the cabin already.2) The first night, we were making dinner and I noticed we were missing plates. I then found dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I went to the front desk and explained the situation, and the employee said oh, ok and found me two extra plates. No explanation why housekeeping didn t catch this when they cleaned for our arrival or even an apology that they would follow up with housekeeping. Then when it came for us to wash the dishes after dinner, they had given us an old sponge. I had to go again to the front to ask for a new sponge. We expect consistency with prior years, which included basic clean supplies in our cabin kitchen, clean bedding, and staff that is responsive. The cleanliness issues are concerning.3) Free nightly s'mores is offered every year. I was told it started at 8pm. We arrived back one night at 8:35. Walked in to request a s'mores bag, and was told they were out. When I brought it up to the manager the next morning, he said that there were enough supplies but the night staff may have been too lazy to assemble more bags. Afterwards, I saw him have that employee make more bags to ensure there would be enough that next night. If we were at an economically priced motel, I figure some of this may happen. But this should not be the experience when I am paying 20% more than last year for the same cabin AND having all these issues. Our experience shows that service, cleanliness, and quality has dropped. Still a great location, but I m not sure that justifies the cost going forward.

We absolutely loved our stay at Cedar Glen Lodge! Charlie and the rest of the staff at the property went above and beyond with recommendations in the area and other efforts to welcome us to Tahoe. The clean/cozy room was perfect for our trip with a fully stocked kitchenette. Parking was easy right outside our room. The hot tub and cozy lobby were also great amenities to have on the property. We would absolutely stay here again! Highly recommend!

My wife and I have been staying at Cedar Glen lodge for years starting in 2013 with our daughter's marriage in North Lake Tahoe when the wedding party stayed at Cedar Glen. The Lodge has gone through several owners since then, but the quality has stayed the same. Without question the best place to stay in North Lake both for lodging and a perfect location. The cabins and rooms are charming and well decorated, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Swimming pool, Hot Tub and firepit in the evenings. It is our happy place, and we intend to continue staying there for many years to come.

Place was what i expected except toilet was clogged on arrival, i swear scouts honor, and also was looking forward to the sauna up in the chilly mountains. Unfortunately was informed that it wasn't functioning not only that but for more then a year. The public fire pit was cool but a large wedding party had taken it over, nothing wrong with it. Did enjoy the hot tub

Went there in this October second week, seems like hotel wasn t much occupied might be due to midweek. Room was quite decent, clean but still need some dusting under table. Bathroom was clean. Hotel was much silent what we like about it. Had a great stay there. Price of the rooms was great. Staffs were much helpful. They also have the charging port for the EV, quiet slow but still worth it. I still recommend people to stay there.

We were left somewhat disappointed by this experience. The price was quite high and we didn't feel like we got value for it. Our cabin had no view to speak of and felt quite claustrophobic. The living area had limited seating. We were also excited to take advantage of the highly advertised fire pit / s'mores which the signage said was open till 10pm but the employee on site decided to close up shop early and head home early -- that felt unacceptable given what we were paying for these amenities. Finally, to our disbelief, we realized we would be charged $25 if dishes were left in the dishwasher (whereas it is super normal in other rentals to start a load on your way out the door) -- not the end of the world, but just felt like the hits kept coming.

I am going to take the time to write this review for future travelers for the area. I want to begin by saying how AMAZING this lodge is. I stayed in a queen bedroom woody cabin that is within walking distance to the lake. They have a hot tub and gave out complimentary s mores on our first night. Our parking space is literally right outside the cabin so it s super convenient for those who do not like walking long distances. They provided a soft, fuzzy blanket in our room, a cute dining table for breakfast/lunch/dinner, the whole aesthetic is SO cute, 10/10. It is on the North part of the Lake and in my opinion, the best part of the lake is the north side and the entire right hand side of the lake. The drive near emerald bay is not for people afraid of heights. Everything you need is within 1 mile of you store, gas, beach access & water rentals, and restaurants & a gift shops. This place is best if you are looking for a quiet, low key place with a cabin feel. I suggest the younger crowds/party people stay in South Lake Tahoe for those kinds of experiences. If you are older or just really enjoy peace and quiet, this is your spot. The front desk gentlemen were so accommodating for us and really were personable, amazing people. Came all the way from South Carolina, so their hospitality was A+! Can t wait to come back here. 10/10 experience.

Beautifully cared for lodge - that has a wonderful personal feel. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin, which was perfect for a family of four. Rooms were clean, well equipped, and felt homey. We didn t use the kitchen, but it looked like it had everything you d need. Heated pool was nice, and you can get s mores kits from reception to roast on the fire. They also have beach chairs, tubes, and coolers to borrow. The beach is a short 3-4 minutes walk away.

OK, so we had a fantastic stay. It took me a while to update, as life gets busy. The place was extremely clean, the staff extremely welcoming. They were able to provide for any special requests we asked for. The owner Martha, greeted our dogs and us with a warm welcome. When we walked into the room we were surprised with locally made bread, coffee and a bottle of delicious wine -- all great and thoughtful touches! The view of the lake was great, and lake access is easy. The beach they have an easement on is very clean and spacious.I have seen some negative reviews in the past and want to address them. Martha is a business owner who cares DEEPLY about her business. As someone who assists in the daily operations of running a small business, I can understand why she takes negative reviews about her business so personally, as I do about the one I help run. We often get unreasonable requests from customers that we simply can not meet, resulting in a negative review. Running a small business takes a lot of blood, sweat, and tears. The idea that "the customer is always right" simply is not true. In fact, it's a toxic term coined by big box stores that can afford to have a policy like that. It should not be an expectation that small businesses accept the same logic. Martha has turned Cedar Glen Lodge into a magical place. Cedar Glen is Martha's life and it's guests need to do their best to respect it.We probably were not the perfect guests. We have two hairy dogs and I'm sure the room took a decent amount of cleaning after we left. Personally, I was more worried about being a good guest! It's such a beautiful place! I hope this can be the start of a yearly tradition for our family. We will definitely return here again, as long as Cedar Glen want us back! I enjoy giving my business to small business owners, especially one that is willing to stand up for her business when it comes to guests that simply have unreasonable expectations, or balk because Cedar Glen refused to accept an expired coupon. Instead of caving at the fear of a bad review, she stands up for her dream. Most could learn a thing or two from her. While we work our often boring desk jobs, she gets to wake up to a beautiful view and some of the cleanest air I have ever experienced.
