Auto mechanic was super helpful and friendly, offered knowledge and a quick diagnostic on the car. Did not end up getting the repair due to time constraints on the way out of town, but from a customer service perspective, would recommend.

We had a bear try to break into our car and tore off the back panel where the latch for the tailgate was. Luckily it only separated some wire which Tahoe City auto repair was able to quickly fix and with some gorilla tape I had temporarily I was able to secure until I can get my car to the dealership. They were so helpful and knowledgeable!Service: Electrical repair

Came in from out of town with a Jeep compass borderline overheating - Most shops would take advantage of the fact that you're hundreds of miles from home - your car is vital. The nice handsome gentleman at the shop took a look at my car immediately and explained the likely cause. He filled up my coolant and aspirated the cooling system without charging me a dime. It's so comforting to know that there are honest and kind mechanics right here in Tahoe city.

Heard a knocking in my engine on the way to Northstar. Turned around to see the guys at Tahoe City Auto Repair since AAA would not come help us. The noise stopped by the time we got to the shop and the guys were able to explain the potential problems. They got my oil changed quickly and sent me on my way to get me back to Napa.Didn t try to gouge us didn t make us wait all day. A1 service if you ask me.

My wife's 2018 Q5 threw a check engine light while visiting Tahoe. This shop saw me the afternoon I called and ran the diagnostic OBD. I was told there may have been a sensor problem, but it was not current. Code was cancelled and did not re-appear the remainder of our stay and return home.So appreciate the straight-forward discussion and repair, fair price, and easy and timely access.

These guys saved us on vacation. Our truck was having some issues and nowhere else would help in the time frame we needed to get home. Alex was fast, honest, and great with communicating with us. Wish I could give these guys 10 stars. Very grateful for their fast work while we were away from home.

Came up for a weekend camping trip in my 02 Chevy Trailblazer only to find that the car was losing power coming over the pass. On a whim I took my car to Tahoe City Auto Repair at 10:30 AM on a Saturday to have it checked out. They diagnosed the problem as the alternator and had it replaced by 2:45 PM, while the girlfriend and I enjoyed the beach. True life savers. We could have been stranded but instead I paid a very reasonable price and didn't even inconvenience my day. Excellent Work! I highly recommend this place.

Fantastic Service and price. Punctured my tire driving up to Tahoe. Slow leak. They found it in 30 seconds and repaired it in less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend!

Stranded on west shore. Called several times and left messages to see if I could have my truck towed in. No answer, no call back.

DO NOT GO TO THIS GARAGE! Long stories short- this shop will send you out of there with issues that you didn't have before going in. Most recently, I took my 4runner in because my coolant was leaking. Mind you, at this time- the car was not overheating, just leaking. They were able to replace my radiator and set me on my way. The next day we had to drive over donner summit and realized the car was hugging the red line of thermostat. I called to inquire what could be happening and THE OWNER never called me back. I had to stay in Sacramento and spend another $400 to also replace the thermostat, which should have been checked when radiator was replaced. Again, called TC auto repair to find out what happened and why he sent me out in a vehicle that was not properly fixed. Still, have not received a call back- two weeks later. This garage should be appalled at their lack of follow through and inability to properly service vehicles. This is not my first incident and should have learned my lesson after they messed up my brakes and costed me an additional $500. I would not have returned to them, but they are reallly the only garage in Tahoe city and it was a decision based out of convenience during a week of snowstorm. Please, save yourself the headache and wasted money. Go to Truckee or Reno for car maintenance and repair.

While travling to Tahoe City for a wedding, our alternator went out on our Lexus suv. They had to order the part from Sacramento and they stayed until 8pm to complete the job for us so we could get back home the next day. Would definitely recommend!

Best mechanics I've ever been to! Friendly, knowledgeable and never short on a sense of humor. They took care of my car every time I've been in and never over charge. They do a great job! Never charged when I came back with a question about the repair.I highly recommend and trust these guys, they will take care of anything and do a great job!

I broke down in Tahoe with a spun bearing and although it took a while to fix these guys did a great job. Super friendly and professional, reasonable prices. Ed is a killer mechanic and I highly recommend checking these guys out if you need good straightforward car help.

I brought my 4 runner in because the front tires where wearing weird. I thought for sure it was the front ball joints because the truck was 23 years old and I had just bought it a few months earlier. Justin checked it out and let me know it was just a front wheel bearing. Saved me a bunch of money. I've sent in a bunch of friends and they have all had a great experience as well. Check out all the great reviews on Yelp for this shop as well.

Took my Subaru over when the check engine light came on, the last of many unfortunate events which occurred that day. Jeff? I venture to guess saw me right away, explained what he could to my completely automobile ignorant self, updated me as he was diagnosing my issues, did not scold me when my Subaru was inexplicably low on oil (I say inexplicably but it was in fact an explicable leak) and cleaned the carbon buildup that was causing my check engine light to come on (without an additional labor charge) and advised me on problems that might occur in the future. Mostly it was so nice to have a full check up and a mechanic who was fast, efficient and who was kind and patient and did not take advantage of my lack of understanding of vehicles. Subie's running much better but I'll definitely be back to Tahoe City for any future issues.

These guys fixed a puncture in our Chevy Tahoe tire in under 20 minutes. Highly recommended. Avoid Chevron and go here. Very friendly, helpful, and professional.

When my car started leaking oil while on vacation I took it to Tahoe City Garage and begged for help. Justin (I assume the owner) looked under the car, said, Yep, it's leaking oil. Looks like the oil filter cap is cracked." He quoted me $70 to fix it plus the cost of any oil to top off. When I picked up the car he charged me $69 and change plus the cost of a quart of oil. I was back on the road with no muss and no fuss. Had they wanted to take advantage of me there's not a lot I could have done about it. They didn't take advantage.

They always have a lot of work on but never fail to fit me in when it's an emergency. They are honest (which is key), helpful and always have time to answer questions about the work done or the condition of my car.Really grateful we found these guys when we moved here.

The friendliest and most knowledgeable people around. My brakes went and when we found out it would take days to get the part they didnt charge us a penny for the diagnosis. They are really gems in the gravel pile of mechanics.

Definitely don't bring your jeep there these fools are dumb replaced my belt 8 times still squeaks. Didn't know it was rocket science. Replaced a pulley a bracket a tensioner the belt coolant cap. Took it to a different mechanic fixed right away. Find a new day job

I was told about this shop buy a long time local Frank over at atomic printing. He said they know what they are doing always answer the phone all ways freindly been using now for over a year from new motors in my work vans and transmission in mymy person car. For get reno keep it local.
