Super honest and helpful! Brought my car here with a burnt rubber smell coming from the engine. Britney explained that it comes from something used to melt the ice on the roads - very common up here but can be scary for people out of town. She was very helpful and didn t charge me at all.

Best auto shop with the kindest people. These are people you can trust and who treat you like a friend or family member. I cannot recommend them highly enough!!I was having a terrible day after a snow berm collapsed, trapping my car. Some well-meaning neighbors helped free my car, but at the expense of damaging my trunk (it wouldn't close). I took my car to their shop and while they didn't have the part I needed, still tried their best to straighten the mangled piece. I found the part in Reno and brought the car back later that day. They installed it for me, including adding a few washers to keep it secure. When I asked the cost, they didn't charge me. Said they didn't mind helping me out.What started as a stressful day ended with me feeling grateful for the kindness of the people in Tahoe, and especially at F.H.P. Automotive. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars!! Whenever I need a car repair, they will have my business!

If your near Tahoe City California and have car trouble. Give these guys a try. Being from Tennessee I was in a pinch when my alternator died. I got there as they opened and was on my way before lunch!! Great folks here!! Thanks Brittany, David and Bill!!

Great service!! We are from out of town and they took care of us like we were family. I would recommend F.H.P. Automotive to anyone! They replaced my fuse box and alternator in the same day, so we could leave town on time!

An amazing automotive shop . Very nice and helpful! I was stranded in Tahoe a weekend in the snow , my chains broke the brake line. The owners took care of me as quickly and efficiently, felt like a family member was helping me out . Ordered my parts and fixed the brakes for a reasonable price . I started taking my Jeep to FHP when I first got it in 2016. Bill has been the most honest, reliable, fast and efficient mechanic I have ever met. If you are in the Tahoe City area and need anything done for your vehicle, I highly recommend Bill and his team. He properly diagnosed many of the issues I was experiencing with my different vehicles over the years, charged appropriately and gave me great advice. I now have a DODGE RAM 2500, and once again Bill worked his magic and truck runs beautifully!

My car broke down Sunday as I was leaving Tahoe. This was the only mechanic open on Monday. Not only were they friendly, but they received a part from Sacramento in two hours and had me on the road quickly. They even cut down the diagnostic fee! Bill charged honestly for the labor, which I m not used to. I m super impressed by them and would recommend this shop to anyone.

What a fantastic experience. Our check engine light came on during our first full day in Tahoe. We had a full week of skiing and snow fun planned and were worried that it would be ruined by car trouble. We took the car into Bill at FHP and he diagnosed and fixed the problem within 2 hrs. We literally just had time to build a snowman in the park adjacent to the shop before he had fixed everything. And he gave us a free ice scraper and notebook! Cannot recommend enough.

While vacationing with my family and friends, the water pump went out in my car in Lake Tahoe. Seeing the good reviews for Bill at FHP Automotive, I took it to him. Bill did the work at a very reasonable price. He also was willing to keep the car a couple days since I had to get my family home in a rental and return for the car later. Bill is honest, very fair priced and does great work! I highly recommend FHP Automotive.

Brittney and team took car of my cracked radiator in four hours. She was responsive and transparent. The technician also picked me up and dropped me off from my house nearby. Car is back up and running the same day. Thanks y all!

Go to this place. I took my car in because I thought my bearing was shot out. There was a very loud rattling noise so instead of checking it out myself, I decided to just go straight to the shop. Bill (the owner), calls me back and says that the bearing is okay and there was actually a branch caught in my wheel. He then said that it is free of charge.Also, he has you sign a diagnosing form with a price attached but says it is only a formality and will not charge the diagnose. So yeah, he had the opportunity to charge me loads of money but instead took the branch out and gave me my car back; free of charge. Not to mention, a handful of people referred me to FHP and I am obviously VERY satisfied.I am definitely buying Bill a six pack of very nice beer. Take your car in here. Seriously, I don't think it could get more honest than this.

I had driven out to Tahoe from my home in CO and couldn't have been in a worse position when my 2012 Volvo broke down out there. After taking it to one garage who told me a crazy story about what the problem was, I had it towed to Bill & Dave at FHP. Too bad I can't make them my regular service garage, I would in a heartbeat. They were honest, accommodating, found the problem and fixed it. No muss, no fuss, no crazy Swedish mystery. Just the starter, m'am. And home I went. Great business.

The only place worth taking your vehicle in Tahoe area especially if you have a Jeep. Can work on all types of vehicles and always for a competitive price! They usually have a busy schedule because they're good so don't be worried if they can't get you in right away.

We were traveling and heading out of town when we noticed a small leak. We stopped by F.H.P Automotive and Bill was incredibly nice and helpful. He tightened a loose hose clamp and we were on our way! Thanks Bill! You Rock!

We've been to almost every other shop in the Truckee-Tahoe area in the past 20 years, and five stars isn't enough for FHP Automotive. I don't trust anyone else with our vehicles like I trust Bill and the crew at FHP Automotive, period. He's handled all of our automotive repairs for the last several years, and I'll never take our vehicles anywhere else if I can help it . I'm only sorry I didn't find FHP sooner. If you're looking for trustworthy, honest, fairly priced and expedient automotive repair services, look no further than FHP Automotive.

These guys are super nice, they helped me in the new year eve, when everywhere were closed and nobody had the mechanics to fix my cars, these guys were really helpful, super nice and they let me to park my car over there few days extra with no charging because of my work situation...
