I go here twice a year, The real service is: ask for DMV form and mileage. if people find that upsetting then smog check should learn how to deal with the entitled .I find The service easy fast and great. I have always been impressed with techs and the staff. One gentleman is the best mechanic west of the Pecos. They have a Female smog tech and are female owned,Remember This an excellent multigenerational business That has also gone through weather, Covid , flu and are still open and still local.By the way al the bad reviews had the car fail. You brought the car to them and then got upset when they let you know it is not correct.

These guys are the best. The guy actually came out and helped me during his busy day to address an issue I had with another smog place that was giving me the run around. Coming back to them from here on out!

I brought my car in for a smog here as the DMV required it be done at a Star station. My car failed smog, and when the extremely sour, unpleasant woman behind the window informed me of this she said: "have you not driven your car in awhile or had any work done on it recently?". I told her yes, that the battery had been replaced the week before, and she said "oh that's why it failed smog so you need to drive it around for about a week then come back in--I usually ask people about that". So I said "okay, so when I bring it back I won't be charged for the second smog test, right?". She said "Yes you will be, but it will only be $30".I told her that if she'd asked me the question that she "usually asks people about" this could have all been avoided. Her response: "I don't have time to ask people lots of questions". I said "It's one question, not lots of questions". Total joke. She was so utterly unpleasant, never saw a smile cross her face, worst customer service possible. When I brought it back in my car passed smog the second time, I paid the $30 (on top of the original $45 I had already paid the first time), and I will never come here again. I highly recommend you avoid this place if you are reading this. The woman I dealt with was literally as unpleasant as they come.

Absolutely horrible customer service! Extremely unknowledgeable staff, rude and inconsistent with pricing and procedures. Customers beware!

Total rip off. Poor customer service. Does not know old cars.Guy claims he knows about older Porsches, but clearly did not. He thought my stock Gen 1 Boxster had been modified. I had the dealership confirm it was stock. But, no, he thought he knew better from his quick Google search. If you don t know, that s fine. Just don t claim you do and then waste my time and money. He couldn t give me a refund unless I came back in. Are you serious?I ve also never met someone with such horrible manners. You can at least be civil when dealing with people. You re in customer service!

I had great a experience. They were fast, despite being very busy. While my wait, I did over hear the people that had really old cars or catalytic converter repairs were failing the smog. That is probably normal though, but if you have that issue, just know that is a possibility.

The name of the business explains itself. Quick and easy. Called the day before and got an appointment within 24 hours of calling. Brought the DMV slip and they said come back in 45 minutes . Came back in 45 minutes and paid, and that was it.

A good place, friendly workers, and no lines. I made an appointment over there website and dropped my car off at the appointed time. I read a book for 45 minutes in there outdoor waiting tent and then picked up my car and a smog certificate. Relatively quick and easy.

No-appt/drop in, a couple customers ahead of me but I was done in less than 45 min Friendly guy working counter. Comfy waiting area, good WiFi, all smooth.

So fast and easy!! Quick fair pricing. Picked up an older 2001 Dodge and we were in and out in 30 minutes. Highly recommend.

Very efficient. I have had good service each time. There is a small inside waiting area but for social distancing use the two outside benches. There is also a nearby deli, Starbucks and a Safeway if you want to run an errand while you are waiting.

Said it would take 1/2 hr. Then they took an hour for lunch, while I sat in the parking lot. wound up taking 3 hrs, trust? Then they decided they did not want to deal with me. so the guy said it would cost over $100 to diagnose why my vehicle failed. buyer beware.

Like clockwork. Under 30 minutes. Went to UPS store, watched YouTube at the sandwich shop then collected the car. Easy and done!

I d worked in the automotive business for 35 years, and there are a few mechanics in our area that are great mechanics but Over my years as a parts manager both in retail & commercial there s less then a handful that seem to shine above. What I view on top their ability to turn a wrench(because 95% in our area are damn good) but in Smog Check at the end of 41st theirs Owen and his trusty side kick. From the moment you call or walk in there s a feeling of respect & trust. I live up in Boulder Creek, and for me and all of my vehicles it s well worth the 45 minute drive just knowing I ll not be jerked aroundMr B

I am buying a car and was looking to have a few repairs done. I called to ask about prices and the lady was INCREDIBLY rude and told me I could take my business elsewhere if I didn't want to bring in the car first. Sorry, lady but my time is also valuable. It was simply to replace a battery and the front brake pads...obviously they must charge WAAAYYY too high to be afraid to give out prices over the phone. And that ATTITUDE! Never again and my husband and I oversee a fleet of cars at a local company!

Did not have the best experience here. The two guys that do the smog checks were not welcoming or friendly, enough to make me strongly consider going somewhere else. Luckily they do have a very kind front desk lady who was quite accommodating.

Arrived 30 minutes before they closed, the tech was in the middle of another smog but kindly squeezed me in before they closed. Fast and professional smog

Be warned-they close for lunch from 1:00 - 2:00 and if not there by 12:15, they won t help you. They don t take Apple Pay.

DO NOT GO HERE unless you don't care about wasting money. I'm a 22 year old women so mechanics are always trying to pull stuff over on me. I've been hoping to find a good mechanic but this place is worse than my dealership. I went in for JUST a smog check and they tried to do all this random stuff to my car (like changing my wiper blades) and tried to charge me $160. A smog check should never cost anyone that much or take as long as it did (seriously over an hour for a smog check wtf?). look for some else who's actually respectable.

Finding a family owned local business that is both fair and honest is truly priceless. Soquel Smog Check is the ONLY shop my family uses. We go there for smog checks on all of our vehicles as well as all repairs. We always feel like the repair is explained well and the price and timeframe is fair. Thank you Soquel Smog Check!

The service is good but with covid I had to sit outside in the cold waiting for my vehicle, bring a jacket because nobody wants you inside. They have you sit near a table and wait for the owner to come to you.

Smog Does more than just smogging vehicles. Owen is great. He always keeps me on the road. I had my truck taken to him when my clutch pedal came apart in an intersection. He had it fixed in no time

DON'T GO HERE. IF YOU VALUE YOUR CAR DON'T GO HERE. This place failed me for an aftermarket part that has been there for 7 years. My emissions were fine but because I had an aftermarket catlitic converter they failed me, no smog = no registration = no car... you don't want a super thorough smog place that's like having even harder security at the airport it's just not something you want.

Great place, fast friendly service, plenty of parking, nice indoor waiting area with coffee, handles two cars at a time, easy to find, just off the corner of 41st and Soquel Ave. Highly recommend.
