Winchester has been my family's auto parts store of choice since I was a child in the 1990's. Best selection, best pricing, best employees in town. I've never left a review, but I had an exceptional experience there the other day. I picked up my car from the mechanic and it desperately needed a new battery. It was 12:35 when I left, and I had an appointment to make at 1. I stopped by thinking I'd grab the battery and go, leaving my car running in the lot. Well, turning out of the lot, my car stalls due to a lack of electricity. I run in panicked asking for a jump, and instead, an employee, Ben, asks how hard it is to change. I tell him I have no idea, but it's not that easy. He's eager to help, comes out to the car with me, and we figure it out. Ben goes inside, gets the right ratchet (he expertly eyeballed the correct size and only brings the one), and gets to work. With his help, we change the battery within 5 minutes, and I tell him I don't care if I'm late, I'll take my core charge back. He runs in with my old battery and receipt to start the transaction, I finish up with the car, go in and he's ready to complete the refund. Thanks to Ben, I get to my appointment on time! Ben's an amazing dude, hope Winchester sees that and values him as much as me. Thanks Winchester, and a particularly big thanks to my boy Ben!

Stopped in at our formerly wonderful local auto parts place. It was bought out by Napa, who ruined it. Remodeled, now it's a mini warehouse style box store but without the selection. Completely destroyed. Not worth going in anymore. It's just a mini distribution center for mechanics now. Wanted some engine flush and a window scrubber, there were no options. Asked to use the restroom which was never an issue. Was told they're on camera and given incorrect directions somewhere else. Won't go back, won't make any purchases there anymore. Whoever at corporate destroyed this place and replaced the former staff with an inexperienced know nothing staff, doesn't understand the appeal of a local parts store with a knowledgeable staff.*** This place won't exist much longer, mark my words.

Patrick and David are always so kind to me. I got sold the wrong battery and they switched it out and even installed the new one for me. On many occasions Patrick has installed headlights for me as well. I will always continue to come to Winchester Auto because they are kind people and always take great care of me and my car. Thanks guys!

I bought windshield wipers for my vehicle (front and rear) and the employee put them on for me! He was fast and knew what he was doing.!!

This place and it's staff are great! The guy at the counter worked with me on a "weird part" - a broken fuel filter for a tractor - despite this being a auto parts place. They didn't have the part, but worked with me to find a quick fix solution. Thank you, and can't recommend enough!

this place is horrible now that they were bought out by napa one of the last local autoparts stores is no more. dont support this place high prices, poor selection, and their online interface is embarrassing it lies about whether items are in stock to get you to purchase.

These guys are great ! I often go here for my parts. I took my 2007 Infiniti G35 there with the check engine light on, they told me it was nothing to worry about and it probably needed a new gas cap. Instead of just selling me a cap like most the salesman kindly came out to the car t look and showed me that in fact the one I had was just fine. So no sale this time,but this kind of honesty and service is what makes me return and write this review !

If you like flashlights, especially Nebo flashlights this is the place to go. They have every top model of Nebo lights. Other than that they have great customer service. When I wasn't doing so well in life and looked like a shady customer, they never judged me or had an employee follow me around and treated me like every other customer. I will always come back to this establishment before going anywhere else because of that. Thank you!

In the past it was a good and helpful place for decently priced parts. Recently I walked in, observed social distancing by standing somewhat down the aisle back from the current customer while one employee helped him and another employee typed on the other computer. As soon as the customer left the employee helping him "wrapped it up" and promptly retreated to the back room. I thought ok maybe he's coming back or didnt know I was ready. The other guy with his eyes facing directly toward me, the only person standing directly in the middle of the store continually walked to and fro across the counter never once looking at me or acknowledging my existence. I thought "does he think I'm looking at something because I'm not browsing I'm standing here". The statement was pretty clear that unless approaching the counter I will not be acknowledged. I just left feeling invisible gonna try somewhere else from now on.

Just had the best customer service I've ever had in a retail automotive part store. Braxton went way way above and beyond to help me with a fuse issue I was having due to an idiot mistake on my part of a diy battery install. Braxton never refered to my mistake in a negative manner and just worked on finding the issue. Wow. What a great experience. I now know why I always recommend and return to this store. Thanks Braxton and everyone that is so helpful at Winchester

This the best place in Santa Cruz for auto parts. Th they have knowledge and helpful staff. Even if they don't have what you need they can order it for you and their prices are very competitive too.

Wow, their selection of parts accessories and repair items has gotten better and better over the years.The gentlemen behind the counter were extremely helpful and even opened the package to see if the part would fit for me.

I've gone to this place for many years they stock usual parts that most O'Reilly AutoZone excetera excetera don't stock on their shelves they have great service the people there know what they are doing and no vehicles very well from Old School hot rods to new 2018

I don't think you want me to share cuz last time I bought electric bike from there and it doesn't even work but for 30 days and then I have to go take it back and it took me forever to get back to me and it writes down again he'll $1,500 for what bad products okay so be it so you see me coming all the way then
