Place was really nice had some great views. Easy access to the lake. The restrooms were very clean glad they had showers at an extra price of course. The only negative I would give it was to many campsites you have people on all sides of you and close too. Just need to drive around to figure out which campsite is more secluded for next trip. Yes will definitely be back

In honor of a loved one who passed away we had his services at this location in the Tanager area. We had a large BBQ before the service allowing for people to make it ontime and to enjoy a great meal with fellowship, as the loved one would want. The area was clean, there was a volleyball area, and a brief walk to the shore line for easy access to the lake and plenty of picnic table seating. This was a half day event and was a wonderful way to say goodbye.I have been to Shaver Lake before, and there are many areas around the lake that will be amazing to see. This lake is a must visit. So much to do. Visit the website to see all that it has to offer.Add it to your bucket list.

We just visited this week before July 4th 2023. Our party, 2 adults. 4 kids, were heading to a different campsite but decided to swing by Shaver Lake after seeing on the Camp Edison site that they had 2 spots open. The woman at the front entry, Renee was so incredibly helpful and friendly. She suggested the better spot for us with 1 RV and 2 tents. Our kids had such a great time that after 2 nights we decide to stay one more. A young guy at the front desk whose name I didn t catch, went out of his way to suggest sites that were open for 1 night.I read some reviews about staff being unfriendly. We never saw this.Everyone we talked to was so nice and kind. One member of staff even gave our dog treats. The campsites themselves are well maintained.Full of nature, clean bathrooms and showers. Lots of firewood. Basic supplies at the store. We rode our bikes all over the grounds and rented a boat at the marina. It was a beautiful vacation and we will most certainly return.

Camp Edison, located on the western shores of Shaver Lake in California, offers an exceptional camping experience. Built in 1963 by Southern California Edison, this unique campground is nestled in a pine forest and provides a blend of natural beauty and modern amenities. The campsite is well-equipped with 252 campsites, each complete with electricity, free cable television, and limited high-speed Internet access1. The sites are spacious and well-shaded, surrounded by gorgeous trees and beautiful boulders2. Each site also features a unique wood cabinet for storing items off the ground. One of the highlights of Camp Edison is its cleanliness. The restrooms are easily accessible and maintained in sparkling condition, with hot water available2. The camp hosts deserve a special mention for their dedication to maintaining the campground2. Upon arrival, you ll notice that the campsites are raked clean, giving them a zen garden-like appearance. The location of Camp Edison is another plus point. It s conveniently located near the town of Shaver Lake, offering easy access to various restaurants and attractions2. The proximity to the lake also provides ample opportunities for water-based activities. Camp Edison offers a memorable camping experience that blends the tranquility of nature with the comforts of modern amenities. In conclusion, whether you re a seasoned camper or a first-timer, Camp Edison at Shaver Lake, California, is a great choice for a camping adventure. It s not just a campground; it s a destination where beautiful memories are made.

I mean it's basically the same as getting here earlier and getting a spot on the lake. The only difference is they might have a better bathroom for the women to use. A boat launch for hundreds to cause racket & disturb the stillness, peace and quiet of the lake. I wouldn't pay for a season pass for this place. I can imagine camping here but not day usage. If you get a season pass make sure you have your second person with you because their condition is having all your license plates to have them come into their park registered whereas if you don't you can't add them later to it. I think I waited a shift change to learn more information on this & decided eh this isn't for me and pulled out of the park to find a quieter place. There's if not more crowds but just the same crowds of people except they pay Uncle Sam to get in. That's about it.

We stayed for three nights in July 2022 in Site 219. We also reserved 236 which has a partial lake view. Check in was super easy. The campground was super clean and bathrooms were well taken care of. I never noticed a cleaning person, but the bathrooms were always clean. At night the loop was very quiet. The camp loop was rather hilly which wasn t ideal for riding bikes around the loop. The lake access was great. We were able to park at the water. The lake was a great temperature and the kids had a blast swimming. (We rented a pontoon boat at the Marina which I was disappointed with because the boat was super old and not well taken care of torn up seats, broken ladder etc. If renting from the marina, I would recommend calling about reserving a boat and in what condition. For $480 I expected a boat that was clean and without torn up upholstery.)We have AT&T and had great service throughout the campground and at the lake.Overall: We had a lovely time and plan to return.

Quiet, nice and peaceful during off peak season for camping. Restrooms/ showers are clean! Walking in, it's nice and toasty, don't have to worry about being cold whether using the toilet or shower. They allow dogs in to camp, of course cost $$ per day for dogs to camp too. Also, made sure if you had a dog that you indeed have them on leash and not free to roam around.

Compared to other campsite in the area, this campground is expensive. But you are close to the lake. There is a very cute little museum at the front that we enjoy visiting. The staff is always nice and helpful.Nearby activities: Lake activities such as boating, swimming, and fishing.

This is a wonderful place to camp. It's quiet, very well maintained with easy access to the lake and hiking trails. They are limited to 43 full hook up sites, but all sites have electricity; some with great views of the lake. At the marina, you can rent a wide variety of water vessels, from canoes and paddle boards, to jet skis, fishing and pontoon boats! Easy to use website for booking. This will become a regular camp spot for us.Restrooms: Super clean and well maintainedDog-friendliness: Ok leash only - the camp host are nasty mean about this!Picnic area: Lots of tables on the lake shore

Good campsites spaces but it depends on how the site is set up. Sometimes the tables are on the right sides, left side, or behind you. We were in the Dogwood loop, good electricity hook-up and friendly host. Check-in was easy. Shaver Lake is right there and a short drive up to Huntington Lake too. They have a little store and info center. They even have charge stations for vehicles. Would definitely recommend.

Great campground. The sites are spacious and level. Most are well shaded. You only get electricity at the site, but there are multiple water taps available. For 2020, the bathrooms are closed. So, you need to be self-contained. The lake is wonderful!2022 Update: we have continued to come here every year! We love spending a few days in the campground and on the lake. This year, we even enjoyed live music at the pavilion by the museum!

We ended up staying one night here on Veteran's Day weekend. The weather was gorgeous! During non-peak season most of the campground is closed so we were able to hike all over without seeing many people. The water in the lake is a little low but still really nice. The campground is very well maintained and clean. We were very impressed. On top of that we even had full 5g Verizon service. Sad part is that a lot of the area outside the park burned during the Creek Fire but they are recovering. Will definitely be back!

Super clean.Nice security to make sure no one breaks the rules. If I have anything to contribute, I wish the hiking trails or bike trails were better labeled. However, someone can argue the opposite. Either way I am coming back for more.

I absolutely love camping here, it is so beautiful. Sometimes we see the same families/campers that we saw the previous year and it is so nice to be able to say hi and feel like you are in a welcoming community. When we go we usually staying in the 180s camp spots and we love it. Also, if you are in the area check out Dinky Creek, it is a nice fishing spot as well as a nice, long creek to explore. Be careful as you climb around and please keep the forest, campgrounds, parking lots, restrooms, etc. clean everywhere you go!! It really does matter!

My family and I were kicked out without warning by staff and we didn t even stay a whole 24hrs. We were supposed to stay 3 days/2 nights. We were a big family group and the only Latinos from what I saw around us. According to the employees they had refunded a neighboring camp bc we were too intimating , too loud, & our lights were too bright. However our whole stay we turned music off at 10p sharp and when they asked about our light we turned it off right away. We were compliant the entire time even when staff told us to move our tents literally a couple inches away from the neighboring camp site. We felt watched the whole time and one of my tias overheard the neighbor spouting how did they allow all these Mexican people here. I m gonna figure this out. We kept to ourselves the entire time never interacting with anyone else other than the employees that continuously kept harassing us.With no opportunity for compromise or warning, were told to leave within two hours with NO refund or else they d call the police on us. They said they couldn t do anything about it because it was orders from management and the manager left after giving staff the orders. This place is racist. We felt so marginalized & discriminated in a place meant for peace & retreat. If I could give a zero star review I would. Do not come here.

Honestly, best campground ever. We stayed in site 140, and our campsite (full hookups) was HUGE. We drove around to a lot of the other loops and even though those weren't full hookups, so many amazing sites. You go camping to be in nature and surrounded by trees, right? Well, each campsite has loads of trees, and they all are just great. The campground has a lot of lake access areas with picnic tables everywhere. We just loved it here and will come back each year, hopefully. ****Honestly, it may be our first campground we have been to that has full hookups with a wooded site and that wasn't on top of the next site.****Pictures to show how huge our campsite was, and how far away the next picnic table was from our fire pit.

We loved this campground! The sites are well maintained, the bathrooms are clean and the showers pretty nice for a campground. Shaver Lake is a beautiful spot. We stayed in site 45 and were tent camping. There was water, electricity, even a light over the kitchen area. There were hundreds of annoying beetles that were constantly landing on us, but at least the mosquito population wasn't overwhelming.

Large camp for tents and RVs with hookups. The hookup equipment appears to be in good shape. It may be a bit of a walk downhill to get to the lake. At night the usual thick campfire smoke. The place seems well maintained. The altitude makes it more comfortable during hot summer months. The camp loops are built into the hill and surfaces may not always be totally even.

One of the cleanest camp grounds I have ever seen. Restrooms and showers are available and kept clean. There are power and cable hookups as well as water in nearly every lot. The proximity to the lake is nice, and the general store is stocked with ice and all the necessities with not so gouging prices and friendly employees. Lots of shade, and very family friendly.

Site itself was very pretty. Beautiful water and campsites have what you need. However camp sites are close together. My friends and I were treated like dirt and we were given attitudes by all of the staff our entire stay. They also told us to leave earlier than the rest of the sites. They kicked us out while we were eating our breakfast. We were told 5 times in one day that we were too loud the night before, even though the people next to us told us they didn't hear anything. This could have just been our section host that was trash. We were also the only diverse group camping in the area and the only ones given a hard time. I definitely would NOT camp here again but would return for day use MAYBE. We tried to have a good time but the staff being so rude and coming up to us almost every other hour to complain to us about something while everyone else was being louder and staring at us the entire time circling our sites on their golf cart, made it a little difficult to enjoy.

Such a great place! We went last year and loved it so much it's our families new yearly tradition. The sites are large and private, bathrooms are clean, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We enjoy our SUPs and kayaks on the lake and you can even rent boats at the marina. We have plans to go back in August and can't wait to go back!

We visit the campsite every year on during the Labor Day. Excellent outdoor water activities. Camp site Do Not have sewer or water at each site. Only electric is provide. Share water at spigot. We usually rent a jet ski and pontoon boat. It can get very cold at night, but during the day the weather is very nice. Camp hosts are very helpful and nice. Well secured and monitored. You don t need to buy firewood, there is a guys drive by and selling fireworks after 5pm.

Our favorite place to go as a family! If you're trying to get outdoors, close to trees, be in the mountains.... This is a great place to do that! It's a great atmosphere for the kiddos with little libraries places to play basketball and volleyball. There's a laundromat if you need it in the bathrooms are well maintained.
