I don't normally leave reviews, but H&M was so good that here I am. Long story - I had brought my small outboard for repair/maintenance to my normal repair shop in the East Bay. After 3 months of hearing they would get to it next week, I called H&M. They estimated a week to a week and a half, so I picked it up and brought it in to H&M on a Friday morning.The following Friday, it was ready! I left work early and drove an hour and a half to pick it up. They showed me the pieces they removed to replace, and pictures of the really corroded parts that were causing the main issue. I had a little sticker shock at the cost - it was quite a bit more than I expected, but I figured Sausalito is expensive and hey, I actually got my motor back and repaired! Took it out that weekend, worked like a charm. The main issue (something the other place had not been able to fully fix twice before) is completely fixed. So, I'm a happy customer.Monday morning, I got a call from the shop. I had been so eager to pick up my motor that their bookkeeper hadn't had a chance to review my invoice and I was overcharged. A few days later, a check showed up in my mailbox!Not only were they fast and did a great job, they were honest enough to reach out to me to refund an overcharge! one of the least professional marine shops I've had to work with. They estimated a repair to cost $1500 which I ok-ed. when the work was completed and I was handed the bill, it was for over $4000. I was never updated or told there would be a cost increase, and quite frankly I'm embarrassed to say I payed them. Any other shop would call to update a customer and make sure an additional cost is ok-ed before proceeding, but not H&M. on top of this they left an open bottle of 2 stroke oil in my console which spilled everywhere. Avoid this shop if at all possible.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Accessory & electronic installations

I have been looking for a good outboard mechanic for 30 years and I have to say EUREKA !! I felt good about my experience from the moment I called to make the appointment. My motor was older but the mechanic knew it well and obviously knows his stuff. I brought it in for the annual service and got it back as promised much sooner than anyone else could. The second time I had it out it had a hick-up and Ethan took my call while I was still on the water. I brought it back to them , they diagnosed the issue and didn t charge me. I would recommend them over any of the other outfits I have dealt with in the area. The entire staff was friendly and changed a worrisome experience into one of confidence. I ll be back!

H&M Marine went above and beyond to help us and we weren t even their direct clients. We purchased a used engine from one of H&M s clients who was getting their engine replaced at H&M, and John and Ethan and the rest of their team were amazingly kind, patient, and helpful when coordinating the pickup of the old engine. Very knowledgeable mechanics and excellent customer service. I definitely recommend you check these guys out!

Haven't been there yet! I have my motor in another shop. I had a bad impression when I met the owner. Planning on buying a new Suzuki. I'm looking forward to meeting you folks. Great reviews

H&M's level of service is superior. Their work, turn-around time, price and interaction with the client are all outstanding. I have used them twice and it appears that all the aforementioned is consistent. Thank you Ethan, Ben and staff for providing a level of service that I thought was long gone. As a fellow small business owner of 30 years, I'm impressed.

Take my boat regularly here to get serviced and work done. Quality place to get work done no half stepping jobs ever. Will continue to take my boat here for all my needs. No job to small or big for these guys. These guys are efficient as can be, I've been to other places around the Bay Area is this one by far os the most professional and the best quality of work you can think of.

Great service, well managed shop, interested ensuring you are happy with the work completed, good customer facing time, provide options for required work and advice on preferred option for your needs. Have worked with allot of marine service shops across the bay area, these guys are worth scheduling your boat into.

Very professional shop. One of the best shops in one of the best marinas in the Bay Area. Can't beat the level of service and dedication; a true hidden gem. They are also a dealer for beta marine, mercury, and suzuki engines.
