SO STOKED: Best mechanic ever for any car, including classics! Totally honest, fair, reasonable, and friendly. I am so thankful to Mike at Gary s Auto for fixing my rebuilt 1971 Ford Maverick. It had been sitting for a while and wouldn t start, but he got it purring better than ever at no time at all and little cost. Other shops said I needed a full engine rebuild and wouldn t work on it otherwise, but Mike got it screaming by using his expert mechanic/engine skills to uncover simple issues. Prior to this shop, I couldn t find anyone who could help, so I m stoked on finally finding my lifelong mechanic. Mike also takes the time to talk to you and explain everything, so you never feel rushed or overlooked. I was so depressed walking by my broken-down Maverick, and now I am stoked. No leaks not even a drip. THANK YOU!!!

Gary and his team have been my mechanic for 15 years. He is HONEST, fairly priced, never doing more than your car needs. (As a young adult Gary cared for 3 of our cars, always providing above board service and never unnecessary repairs just to make money)I highly recommend Gary s Auto Service.I have moved to La Jolla and still go to the trouble of bringing my car to him over anywhere else.

Are you kidding me? Gary's shop is the best. It's like a family here and I trust them completely with my Benz. Gary always shows me the old parts when something needs to be replaced, and when I lost my debit card and was waiting for a new one he let me take my car home before I paid him. What? One time I let a guy I was dating drive my car and he broke it and tried to patch up a part without telling me. Gary told me. You betcha! This is a trustworthy shop with quick, excellent service. Why would you not come here? You should come here!

Gary s automotive in Santee was recommended to me by Al s barbershop and that is one of the best recommendations. I ve had.Garys honest and trustworthy and quick..The first time he replaced the fuel pump which was in my gas tank on my 2001 Chevy van.this time however, it was the radiator and that was under warranty from a different auto repair shop. He understood and got it back put together so I was able to take it over and get the warranty work done.I cannot say enough wonderful things about Garys automotive.Services: Auto maintenance, Battery

Had my SUV fixed there and in less than 15 minutes I was broken down needing a tow and another engine. I won't go back and don't encourage others!

Do not go here, Refused to fix my issue 3 straight visits, told me doesn t have time, then to leave my truck. Also told me, it s hard to chase noises, your truck is breaking down and making noises because it s old. Been loyal, but this place is unpredictable. Takes several visits to fix anything, finally quit going there.

I love Gary! He has always taken care of me when ever I have had the slightest issue. He is very fairly priced, does really good work and he is a nice person to boot!Update.He's updating the office/wait area and its going to wonderful. Still 5 stars!

Gary's auto service is excellent. Gary is honest and team is fast and thorough. I appreciate how they take the time to answer my questions and explain everything to me. They replaced my catalytic convertor and a faulty pully. I highly recommend Gary's Auto Service. It's the only place I'll take my car now.

Best auto repair experience I've ever had. Broke down on way to beach from Phoenix with 7 family members. Limped my van to Gary's shop close to 5pm. Gary had it repaired by 10am the following day. Gary was very understanding, sincere, honest, and fair priced. Could not recommend it more strongly. Top notch experience !!

Gary and his team provide honest auto service at a fair price! Went in for oil change, tire rotation and brake check( brakes shaking). Gary's team said the brakes were in good shape and the tire rotation removed the shaking. I will refer everyone I know to Gary for honest auto repair at a fair price! Thanks Gary!

I first came to Gary following the reviews here. I try to do most of my own maintenance and consider myself an experienced shadetree mechanic, but we were in the process of moving and I had no tools and no garage to work in and my truck developed a sudden brake issue. I was going to be at the mercy of a mechanic whether I liked it or not.Fast-forward a year and a half and I have taken both of my vehicles, my sister in-law's car, and a friends car to Gary. He's incredibly friendly and honest, and his billing is modest. In a world where everyone is out to make a quick buck and run up the bill with extras, Gary cares about getting your vehicle fixed with only the parts that it needs and getting it done right with quality tools and workmanship. We're having our second timing belt service (different vehicles) done, and expected turnaround is one day. No backlogged appointments, no, "we couldn't find that part your car will be sitting in the shop for a week while we get it." We borrow a car from a friend for one day and we're back on the road and we didn't have to get a second mortgage to do it.I love wrenching on cars as a hobby, but when I have service that takes a lift or special tools that I just don't have, or I just simply can't afford to have a car out of commission because I have to work for a living, I trust Gary to take care of us.Thanks Gary

Great service and good prices. Fair and honest. My car temperature gauge was super hot and I took my car to Gary, ended up being a cracked radiator cap. $10, if he wasn't honest, he could have said it was something big, and I would have never known.

Top notch mechanics and customer service.Gary and Curtis are amazing and they have worked on two of my classic cars.They give you the straight skinny and don't beat around the bush.I'm taking my cars to this shop only now!!!Thank you Gary's Auto Service for taking care of my kids!! (cars).

My car was making a strange sound and smell last week. Luckily I was ony a couple hundred feet from this shop. The owner apologized that he was full at the time but he did come out to open my hood and take a look so he could suggest to me if it was dangerous to drive. He didn't have to take the time that he did but that kind of service shows that Gary is definitely a trust worthy guy.

Very Solid and Honest Family owned business, I had Some issues with a few Serpentine belts breaking. Gary and his crew diagnosed problem and got me handled in no time. I would definitely recommend him, Very Straightforward Shop

These gentlemen are true Gear heads! My Ford F 150 with 357,000 runs like new again after two other service centers, including a Ford dealer, could not figure out my service needs. Gary and his Associates are the REAL Deal!!!

Had to take my car back 3 times for them to fix my brakes correctly, which is 3 more times than I should of had to. Without a doubt, would NOT recommend to anyone.Service: BrakesService: Brakes
