I took a shot based on online reviews and the fact they were able to get me in right away. Others I called were several days out and I couldn't go without my work truck for long. I dropped off on a Monday morning, and the tech had me run to pick up parts, which was odd and should have been a red flag. They got it done the same day and I was told to to pick up before they closed. I was there at 4:10 (online website said they closed at 4:30) but they were gone and my truck was locked up in the yard. The hours on the door say they close at 4:00. So Tuesday I go to pick it up and the shop was locked up all day. Hopefully I can get my truck this morning and all is good. I will talk to them to see what happened, but I doubt I will go back in the future.

My insurance had my broken down car to Ban's. Biggest mistake ever! 1st it was $250 & 2 hrs. Then $1900 the next day, something worse wrong. The next day we're up to $2900! The repairs were too much. So I decided to take my money & put it towards a new car. They had taken out the engine. Ok. However when the tow truck brought him home his flatbed was flooded w/oil. They hadn't put the engine back! It was in the trunk of my car! Now even a junk car dealer will not buy it! The tow guy even told me he's towed many a car out of there because of their bad work. And they charged me $150 for storage. I paid it just to get my car out of there. I Do Not Recommend This Place. Word of warning.

Super nice and inexpensive! My car started rumbling when idle and had gone to another mechanic and charged me a lot to fix but the problem didnt go away. My parents have used them for years. They say foreign cars, but when I called for our 04 Subaru impreza they said they don't have the tools to do the clutch. I thought that was weird. They have always been up front and honest and helpful in the past. Will recommend and use if needed for a diffrent car.

I've been a loyal customer of Ban's Automotive since 1991. I always found them to be honest and trustworthy, as well as reasonably priced.Unfortunately, I will no longer be a customer. I took my car in because some gaskets blew and oil was leaking everywhere. First of all my quote was $510, which included motor mounts as well. When I went to pick up the car, the my final price was more than $110 over the quote.After my husband picked up the car, the check oil light came on within 3 miles from the shop. He looked at the dipstick, which had no oil marks, and added a quart.. He drove the car two miles to his destination and the check oil light came on again. When all was said and done, he had to add more than 4 quarts of oil to a vehicle that only takes 5.5 quarts.When I called to let the owner know, so that he could make sure that he discussed it withe his mechanics, he told me my car must be burning oil. Really??? Four quarts plus of oil in 8 miles and it's been fine since we added the 4 plus quarts a week ago. The owner was very defensive and would only say that they checked the oil and it was fine. I just had the car smog tested one week prior to the gaskets blowing. The car passed with all normal levels. In fact my husband has checked the oil 3 times after he finally had a proper oil level. Each time he's checked it, the oil level was full.

I love this place. They are very honest and helpful. They help you find the inexpensive way to get back on the road, and do not recommend repairs that you don't absolutely need. They check my engine light codes no charge. Really nice guys, great mechanics with integrity, I recommend highly.

I LOVE this place, they are HONEST , EFFICIENT, RELIABLE & not expensive. They do QUALITY work. They diagnosed the "wierd" sounds coming from my engine and fixed it right away. Ban is the most honest mechanic out there. His prices are more than fair and he never takes advantage of a situation. He and his team are genuine. The best mechanic that Santee has. He knows cars inside and out!

I'm always appreciative about how honest they are. I highly recommend Ban's. Make sure to pull all the way in to the back driveway. You will almost always find him in the garage, not the office. Keep up the great work!

My dad s car was running rough, but friend had a mechanic s diagnostic machine. All the machine said was wrong is that an EG valve was stuck. Mr. Ban didn t even mention that, but he did make up many other problems.
