A couple of times a year an inattentive garbage collector omits emptying my can. (I don t know how because it s right in front of the mailboxes)I usually ignore it because my can isn t always full so I can wait a week. Last Friday it was full so I called Recology within 30 minutes of the truck being on my street. I was told a call would be put into dispatch for a pickup. Nothing happened on Friday or Saturday or Monday morning so I called again. A different person told me that they d put a call into dispatch for a pick up but it probably wouldn t happen until Tuesday.Here it is Wednesday and my can is still full .and sitting exactly where it s been since 5pm on Thursday.It seems that their current policy is We missed your can. Well, fork you, you ll have to wait until next collection day to get it emptied UPDATE: We ll it s Thursday afternoon so you managed to go a whole week avoiding correcting your mistake by not returning to empty my bin in spite of TWICE promising to do so on the phone. So, CONGRATULATIONS to all you liars, incompetents and general clowns it s only mid-February and you ve already won my Worst Company of the Year Award.

I have never been this angry with a company in my life. Every avenue I took with this company they have failed me. Bulk item pick up ordered 3 months ago. They told me the date to have my items on the street. They never picked them up. So I called back, they never had record of my first date appt. Scheduled another pick up date. It was three weeks out for that appointment. Moved my single mattress and microwave back into my driveway. Both of which now were saturated with rain water. And pulled them out back onto the street for pick up on December 21, never was picked up. Called yesterday waited on hold for an hour to talk to a person. That person told me that it would be picked up yesterday. I was hosting a Christmas party in the evening and I made them promise. Still there today. So called again. Ofcourse I can t reach anyone today. Can t even log in on the website because it is saying that I am not the person I am. I have spent too many hours wasted for no results. The worst part about it is this company is a monopoly so what other options do you have for trash pickup? Recology needs to pay their employees better and hire more of them. Get a functioning website and follow thru on you promises. If I could give 0 stars this would be a -0 company. Horrible!

Would give 0 stars if possible. When Recology started they were saying how great they would be. Liars!! They missed our Bin on Monday and we've been calling everyday since then and they keep saying someone will be by. It's now Thursday and nobody has come by. Now strangers are throwing their trash in our bin (illegal btw). They're so SLOW to resolve an issue yet are so QUICK to take your money

WORST service EVER. Been trying to get BINS replaced for 6, yes SIX MONTHS. Keep being told they're out of bins OR, they schedule a drop off and never show up.Take note that their website makes it hard to actually FIND a person to speak directly to, or even email. When you call them, they won't pass call off to a supervisor or give ANY names, phone numbers or emails...All SO SHADY.This is an ongoing, constant part of my life now, trying to get new bins for the bins THEY have basically destroyed. No lids, no wheels...seriously it is shameful. What can you do, you're STUCK with them, right??!

This company is one of the worst in Sonoma county. I can never get through by phone. I'll spend 30 to 40 minutes on hold only to just give up, because I CAN'T STAY ON HOLD ALL DAY! I have a life and have a job and they're closed on the weekend. This isn't my first rodeo with them either. They're right up there with the power company with my disappointment in them. Monopolies are horrible for society. This one is no different!

I scheduled a bulk item pickup over a month ago. They never showed. I called in to see why and request they pick up the items that were scheduled, talked to a supervisor and was told this would be taken care of. They never came for the rescheduled pickup so I called again, and they were very apologetic and told me it would be taken care of within two days, this is the third schedule time. It is now two weeks later, and all the items are still waiting pickup. I don t understand how a missed pickup, and two follow-up pickups were never done. It has been over a month. I will call again, can t wait to hear their excuse this time. Joke of a company.

Made appt for curbside appliance p/u. Nobody showed up. I called back same day. Was told they would pick up tomorrow. NO SHOW AGAIN. Now it s the weekend and I have a water heater sitting in front of my house for 4 days now. I will call back again Monday but I m sure I will get the run around again. Recology has the worst customer service and the highest prices.. I wish there was an alternative company.

Multiple times my garbage has not been picked up. When I call to request that they have a driver come back, I am always told it could take up to 2 days. Only once has anyone ever actually come back. All the other times my bins just sit out all week until the next garbage day. I am paying for a service that is not being completed and they have a monopoly on the business as there is no other waste provider in our area. This should be illegal. Some sort of oversight needs to be in place.

The lack of green yard waste bin has been completely ridiculous. I am told a SPECIFIC DATE by a rep and then it doesn't happen, pushed back to yet another month. I am thinking they have no system of tracking and it's just kind of on a whim of who calls when they happen to have some. It's supposedly "free" but of course we ALL PAY and some gets two and others get none. How does that work? No response to web form too, phone always busy/on hold no doubt understaffed. At some point people may leave their waste at the office front door.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the Recology driver that serviced our house in Sebastopol the day after Christmas. I got the holiday pickup days confused and forgot to put out the bins.When the driver came by and saw the obviously full bins next to our house, he took the time to come down to the house to get the bins. Many Thanks!

Pay to have my trash collected and they skip my house constantly. Great service guys...You took my money but not the trash or recyclingUpdate: Shows up right after your apology and misses an entire yard waste bin, only empties half of my recycling bin. Your drivers are rushing and the bins aren't even being emptied properly. If you're going to raise fees you should provide better service. This is absolutely terrible service

Horrible customer service. Most likely caused by even worse management. An autonomous monopoly that acts like one. No reason for them to actually work with their customer base. I feel bad for their drivers, they are actually really nice and caring.

Been a customer/homeowner in Santa Rosa for many years. Due to some moves/identity theft issues I got behind on the bill and didn t receive notice that the account needed adjustment. They took the garbage can from the house and now are not sure when another one will be available as they are short of supplies

Again, recology raises rates without alerting their customers. Those retirees on fixed incomes therefore will have less money to buy groceries. Thank you very much.

I called for a large pick up. They scheduled me and then didn t show. I had to call again. They wanted to know the number of things I was putting out, not thinking much of it. I told them approximately how much of each item. Even called back when we added a small table top. Customer service said I had too many items and it would have to count as my 2 pickups for the year. I said that was fine.They finally came to pick up and parked across the street.. I don t see a reason for that.. my street and curb were wide open and they carried away 80% of it and left the rest.I called again and they will be back in a month to collect the rest. They have been such a nightmare to work with for large pick up. We even made sure everything was under 6 feet as requested.I have my before and after pics and pic of them walking across the street. Like why??Update: They have called me again and said they can t pick up the pvc pipe and to discuss further exactly how much wood is there even though I have spoken to them 3-4 times about what is set out for them to pick up.

We have had great service with Chris and are very happy that they respond so quickly to any customer inquiry. We also like the fact that they work with you on extended vacation pickups and actually credit you back for those weeks. Most companies dont offer any adjustments for not using a service

NOTE: This review is based on an adm request.The person I spoke to Chris, was top notch!He was able to give me the information I requested in a straightforward, quick and informational way. Without hesitation.By the end of the business day. I couldn't have been more satisfied.Chris, should be elevated to a customer service instructor. He gets it done!

I recently moved to Guerneville and Chris at Recology was helpful and able to get me service in place fast. the people before me left a trash bin full of trash so I needed the pick up on the next pick up day which was 2 days from the day I called. He gave clear instructions and answered all my questions. He also followed up after the collection had happened to let me know the larger bin I had rquested would be coming later that day. And it did. I am very happy with the service.

I tried to find a service calendar on the website, but it only states that no flocked trees in green can. That should be so easy to post the dates that garbage pickup is delayed to holidays.

Recology Sonoma-Marin is very responsive to the website contact us feature, however I am Never able to reach them by phone which is my only complaint. They usually pickup on Friday as scheduled and when they forget a can, which happens with any service, I notify them on the website and the next day the can is emptied. The drivers are respectful, careful and courteous to the customer.My Sister-in-law who is handicapped and is signed up on the "driver mover can" service, finds they seldom go get it and they never bring it back up to the house as they should so I need to contact them to remind them if I am not available to do it.Services: House & garage cleanouts, Yard debris removal, Waste recycling

We are so thankful to Recology Sonoma Marin for donating trash pickup services to the Russian River Watershed Cleanup! With their help, our volunteers were able to pick up and dispose of a HUGE amount of trash in the Russian River before high waters would have carried it all away to the ocean. Many thanks to the whole team at Recology for making this happen!

Working with the team at Recology Sonoma Marin to partner in support of all local Petaluma students has been amazing. Their wanting to learn about the needs of our schools, creatively develop opportunities to address those needs, then take the time to follow up to hear how the support directly benefited our programs has resulted in a great community relationship. The mission of the Petaluma Educational Foundation (PEF) is about to celebrate 40 years of serving our students & schools thanks to partners like Recology who are putting education first!

The garbage man for Recycle bins came this morning and was upset because he had to get down from his seat to move my bin. I was looking out the window and he angrily motioned to my bin that I should have it on the other side of the curb, even though there was a car parked out there. I had all 3 bins by the curb and the other workers did not comment. This is not the first time he shows anger because the bins are not conveniently placed for him. I pay for my service and do not appreciate his attitude toward me, or any other neighbor.Service: Waste recycling

Today, 7/26/23 my recycling can was picked up by the truck at a little bit of a crooked angle causing some paper to fall out. The driver stopped his truck and picked it up. He didn t put a sticker on my can attributing blame to me. I appreciated that he took the time to pick up what spilled. My can was closed and not overstuffed to be clear; it s the nature of having the challenging job of picking up cans at difficult angles in a court. I m on Casita Ct in Santa Rosa. Recology in Petaluma does a pretty good job. It is free for an extra recycling and an extra green bin if you would like one. The pick up times vary but they are always picked up on the day of service. Sonoma Marin Recology did not pick up my garbage. Their customer service rep, Anna, was a witch and argued with me about our pick up dates. I was polite and civil, she was rude and uninformed. I ve paid for service, not some uninformed person to tell me when they pick up my garbage. Every one else on my street got garbage service today, EXCEPT me, but Anna told me no one got service TODAY, but yesterday. Great training! Rude to the moon and back

I am very grateful to Recology and their involvement in the community. As a partner with the Press Democrat, they help non-profits through the "Celebrate Community" program, and the non-profit I work with was a grateful recipient of their support. Sebastopol World Friends is hosting a fundraiser for humanitarian aid in Ukraine, and Recology sponsored a huge ad in the Press Democrat, helping us to raise over $4,500 (and still counting) in donations. Thank you, Recology, for supporting the non-profits in Sonoma County!

Been waiting for over 2 months now for a replacement of my recycle can call them every week they say its coming then they say I didnt leave the can outside til 6.00pm with is a lie I let it stay out front all night then they said they would come. But still no can its hard to move without a handle !
