I ve been going to AE German for 25 years and I don t know why it s taking me until now to write a Google review. When the lights go on in my car, I take my car there. They do the diagnostics. They called me with an estimate before they do the repairs. I m very grateful for everything that they have done for me and I will continue to go there until I die because I only drive German cars. I have recommended them to family and friends for the last 25 years and I will continue to do so!!! I know all the mechanics. They are my friends. They give me rides back home while they repair my car and pick me up when my car is ready. I don t know anybody else who has an experience like this. I feel extremely privileged. I hope that you are all reading this because now you know where to go for your German Car.

What an amazing place !! Friday night right before closing (6pm) my car broke down on the freeway. I called them up more or less expecting them not to be able to do a lot for me, the complete opposite they said they would be in store and if I can get my car towed to them by 8 pm someone would still be there. The whole team but especially Tim was just amazing! They explained everything to me and tried to get the best outcome for me and my situation. So patient, welcoming and truly kind would recommend this place to anyone! You ll be in great hands!

I haven t personally been here yet but so far when i ve called and stopped in they been nothing but helpful. This place has good expertise on their staff and prices are way better than going to the dealership. Especially in Los Angeles with how expensive it can be and i m new to the area. I plan to get all my work done here.

Over the course of about a year, I've grown to know this shop and the crew (Paul, Joe, Bill, Jerry, and everyone else) quite well and recommend AE German to everyone I know. These guys rebuilt my engine after a cracked cylinder head, they replaced my shocks, replaced window regulators, and have done various smaller jobs for me. They even provided a great recommendation for fixing my upholstery and convertible top. They've always been honest and care about doing the best work for a good price.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair, Battery, Oil change

The most honest auto repair shop in Los Angeles! Jerry, Nick, Chris and the entire crew are fantastic. These guys are not about the money, they are about great service and making their customers happy. They are truly knowledgeable when it comes to foreign cars, they do a great job, and I highly recommend them. You will not find a better place in the entire area. The service manager Bill is great to work with. He helped me anyway he could on giving me a fair price to rebuild the top end of my 2002 VW Eurovan. Which is a huge job. I had total confidence in Paul the mechanic after talking to him about the job. He did an amazing job getting my van back in the road. It runs great now. This isn t the cheapest shop around, but at AE you definitely get what you pay for. If you love your German car like I do you want It taken care by the best.

This place was recommended by a friend who I trust. I took the two BMW s we have there and got quick and honest assessments and repairs. I m very happy with the results. They are caring, knowledgeable, fair and professional people. I will be returning tor future repairs. Pavol is fantastic and knows a lot. You can t go wrong with him

Really impressed with AE German Car Service. I recently purchased an older 328i convertible and I knew it needed to be serviced at the time of purchase - so I took it to the dealer and they said I needed $3100 worth of service and maintenance. They weren t wrong, but I wasn t about to pay that much. Took the car to AE and they independently verified that I needed maintenance and what items needed to be serviced. They performed all the work plus identified that I needed a new battery. Out the door with tax the total was $1600 - quite a savings from the dealer. Took the car in the morning and had it back by late afternoon. The car feels and drives like new. Service was friendly, professional and top notch. Unless you re under a warranty or maintenance plan there really is no reason to go to the dealer. AE performs the same services, they run the same diagnostics, and have qualifiers technicians that will do the same, if not better, quality of work. Can t recommend them enough!

I initially took my 18 yr old Mercedes to AE after the Mercedes dealership in Santa Monica were unable to fix a trunk latch problem. AE caught the problem at minimal cost. I subsequently returned for a smog issue related to a failed hose, leaking coolant reservoir, and routine fluid service. I have been most impressed with their honesty, capability, and reasonable costs on each of these visits. Everyone here is very polite and respectful. Excellent service and quality work at fair prices. These guys are all so friendly and knowledgeable. My check engine light came on my audi and i took it in. They ran some tests and found no real problems and didn t charge me for the assessment! Will definitely be back and can t say how nice it is to have some friendly and trustworthy mechanics in the neighborhood! Very sweet guys!

I can't believe this place! I have a BMW, and always use to take it to my dealer, because of the warranty. Finally I decided that they have sucked enough money out of me, and was under the suspicion that they weren't doing their job properly. But that's for another review... I got a recommendation form a friend for AE German. The service to my car was done quickly and professionally and executed to my expectation. I haven't had to return to fix a problem they missed the first time, which was new to me! I have however came back for my routine maintenance, and am for the first time satisfied with my mechanics, as well as the rest of the staff there. I love this place as much as a woman can love a mechanics shop.

I handed over my BMW with check engine lights on and car bumping while driving. I went away and came back after an hour after inspection. Bill was the person who described the issue to me pointing at portions of the opened up engine. Some of the wires of my engine's spark plugs were shorted out so the spark plugs needed a replacement. I gave a go ahead and was told he will order the parts and will have the car ready by the evening. In 4-5 hours the same day the car was ready to drive smooth again. I loved the way the issue was described to me clearly without any unnecessary service upsells unlike my past experience with other service centers. Labor and parts pricing was reasonable for the quality of service. And my car has been driving smooth since.

I have been taking my Mercedes Benz to AE German Car Service for more than six years. They provide excellent and timely service. They have always been able to solve the little warning alerts that appear on my display quickly and with economically. I find that I get better service at AE at a much more reasonable price than I would get at a dealership. AE is a two-generation family business that takes pride in their efforts and it shows! I have begun taking my BMW you there as well.

Was referred by someone who I barely knew. Took my BMW for service, the staff immediately got to work on it, formulated a short list of items that should be looked at but no hidden fees. They knew exactly what they were looking at, charged me fairly and asked me to come back any time to look over the rest. My car and I left happy because of the professionalism, great attitude and stellar service. This is the only place to go if you care for your automobile.

Friendly service, quick turn around. YMMV when it comes to price, you have a BMW, those can be expensive to fix if not taken care of in a respectable manner.Update: 6/21/18Joao, David, and the other people there helped us out in a big way in regards to our injured BMW. I will continue to bring my business here, as they went the extra mile, good prices, swift work and they understand that their reputation matters.Thank you guys once again.

Had my 09 Jetta repaired here after the engine started sputtering and I started hearing a whistling sound. They were able to identify that one of the belts had gone bad and they were able to order and replace the part in only a couple days for a great price. Great service and excellent work

Estimates of completion incorrect - had to call them several times after they said they d call me later in the day but didn t. I kept hearing that the car was 99% done and will be done today or tomorrow for 4 days. Finally got the car, was treated rudely by a gentleman who was asked to try the reverse for me (shifter needed repairs so I was making sure).20 minutes later the drive belt blew out (to be fair I didn t specifically ask them to look at that). I have to take it to another shop now.All in all the parts cost about $30 and the labor ran nearly $800 to repair a few wires and throw in a part for the shifter.The shifter was repaired but the customer experience was not pleasant and the cost felt excessive for the work done.

The folks here are awesome, I had never been here and I brought my car in to swap out some pedals, it took them about 30 min to do it and they didn t want to charge me, even after I insisted. I will definitely be back here!

Great guys, I had very little time to make a quick inspection before heading up north on a 5hr drive, they made the time, were friendly and courteous about it, and the car performed as they said it would. Would highly recommend.

I brought my 2007 VW Jetta in to Volkswagen Santa Monica with serious brake issues. Their estimate for "Premature Rotor Damage" was over $1000. I took it over to AE German, and had it fixed quickly for nearly half the price. I will be coming back next time I need a mechanic and stop waiting my time with over priced cheaters.

I know the owner for decades with outstanding performance of service, job in any directions of business point of view very satisfied and highly recommended technicians are very well trained and experienced you will never regret put your car in this independent shop and is cheaper too when big dealerships
