Used to be a great place to get work done. Went there for years. Management has changed and the place seems really sketchy now. Pretty sure they took my rotors and switched them out for some resurfaced junk last time I had my brakes done. I didn t notice initially, but car is only 5 years old, and the ones they put on are definitely not OEM, and the center hubs are not coated and rusted right away. The last time I went there, I wanted to use my lifetime alignment when I got an oil change. I was skeptical they were going to actually check the alignment, so I watched from across the street. They just did the oil change and then parked the car in the lot. They waited about 45 minutes to call me and said they were done. Never checked the alignment but had a printout saying they did, but with no wheel specs. Didn t press them on it, just paid for oil change and decided I would never go there again. Shady business.

I just walked in, no appointment. I was greeted right away by staff apon entering the office area. I explained my vehicle needs and was assured my vehicle could get in the reservation list. I asked for the nearest coffee house and was pointed in the right direction. I was called by phone that my vehicle was ready for pickup just as I was finishing up at the coffee house. The entire experience was like a dream. I highly recommend Wheel Works.

I contacted Wheel Works and Patrick assisted me. I told him I needed a batter for my car a.s.a.p. and he was able to get me in within 30 minutes! The staff was very friendly and I was out of there with a new battery in less than an hour. Patrick was fantastic!

the customer service at the Front St location has always been great. The Service Manager thoroughly explains what's needed at the time of that appointment, and what can wait until the next service appointment. And they've been helpful in finding coupons to apply to my service.

I was sold front tires on Friday and planned to be back on monday for the Rear. However at checkout after tires were mounted I was told my rear tires were not available at all companywide and I would have a different tire in rear. I wanted a full set of 4 of same type and brand. I was also never told about warranty on tires. I did not want tire warranty but was sold on invoice anyway. Extra $48. I will be returning tires getting refund and never going to to business with wheel works again

OK. This is long but I want to be thorough to help others who may be on the fence!I got tires at a Wheel works in San Jose some months ago on the recommendation of a friend who lives there. Back home, in Felton, I ran over a screw near the sidewall (=leaky tire) a few days ago. Was going to take it back to SJ, but then i reasoned since i got the tires at Wheel works, any location would probably honor my warantee. NOt only did i get my destroyed tire replaced with a brand new one for less than half their regular retail price, but the man helping me informed me my warantee was running out and that i could renew it for a couple more years for like $12! I said "Hell yeah!" and hit the road only 15 minutes later with a new tire and additional tire protection! Bonus; UNLIKE just about every other car service place in the county, they did NOT try to upsell me on ANY other services (a huge pet peave of mine; if I WANT any other advice or service, I'll ASK for it!). There were two guys i was talking to in the cashier area...they provided friendly coversation and were helpful, explaining the varied events held at the basketball stadium across the street (MMA fights and Big Name Concerts; I didn't know!) and pointing out Firefly coffee house for brew and treats a couple doors away (good, but shockingly overpriced--the better part of 20 bucks for a small latte and a bite to eat? What?? I had flashbacks of SJ Airport. My bad for just ordering and not paying attention to prices!) . long story short, I left Wheel Works in Santa Cruz feeling really solid about my experience there and secure for my upcoming road trip! Thanks Guys, I'll be back!

I wasn't going to Wheel Works, just parking in the public lot of the "park" behind it. The employees however are rather obnoxious and take it upon themselves to police the lot by harassing innocent park goers. Once they've had their fun they call the real police and make up a story so that SCPD will come out there and harass the park goers as well. I think they do this to draw attention away from the back of their building which is quite obviously infested with black mold and a biohazard.

I really don t trust this place. They never reset my maintence lights, things on my car start malfunctioning when I leave this place. Today they refused to fix a nail in my tire stating that my tread was no good on any of my tires and that I need to buy four new tires. I was at Toyota yesterday having a recalled item replaced and they always do a four-point check on the car which showed that the tire tread on my car were all rated fours and threes. I was at wheel works over an hour (with an appointment) to be told they won t fix anything unless I buy 4 new tires because ALL of my tires were at a 2

I discovered a nail in my tire right before a 10-hour rode trip and Jessie and his team squeezed me in quickly. They were so kind and efficient, getting the job done in time for me to leave on schedule. I highly recommend this business for any of your car needs.Service: TiresService: Tires

Worst experience of my life - a bunch of liars and cheaters at this place - probably why there was no business on a Saturday afternoon, none. After using Wheel Works for 40 years, I'm checking out the other great looking and upgraded tire stores in town (even the used tire place is in better shape and has employees who provide customer service). Won't honor guarantees or warranties as well as purchased "lifetime" options. No wonder this place is practically out of business, the most expensive, and lacks customer appeal.Service: Tires

Thought I would get the oil changed since I already had the car there for new tires. They put conventional oil in my BMW which only takes synthetic oil. When the car was driving funny after I picked it up and the check engine light was on, I contacted them and discovered they put the wrong oil in the car. The manager, Adrian, wouldn t refund the oil change and wouldn t take any responsibility because he said I wanted to use a coupon (which apparently only applied to the conventional oil). They literally put the wrong oil in the car because of a coupon - as a customer I obviously didn t understand the coupon was only for conventional oil. I m shocked they were unwilling to take responsibility, refund, or offer to fix for free. Don t go here.Services: Tires, Oil change

Just the best service. Went there for and oil change and it was quick and professional. Trust these guys with my carDidn't feel like they were trying to take advantage like many other places near this location.Went back because I had a slow leak in my tire they were able to fix it. They didn't try to sell me new ones (like a place down the street). And they even changed my lightbulb.

I wanted to love these guys because this company had been my go to when I lived near Redwood City. All I got was high prices and impatience. Sorry but for the prices they charge, if they want to get in my wallet the least I deserve is a little conversation and maybe a smile. But no love here. I guess they think my vehicles weren t good enough for their precious hands. Makes me really miss Redwood City Wheel WorksServices: Tires, Brake service & repair, Oil change

This place is a mess re customer service honestly - don't recommend. After arriving at my 1pm appointment they said 1-1.5 hours to replace four tires. OK - seems long but I will stay local and deal. After 2.5 hours the car was just sitting there (as I was killing time at the coffee shop). After 3.5 hours I walked over to ask them about it. "Oh yeah, we should talk, I meant to call you". They give me a list of every conceivable upsell you could imagine, worth thousands of dollars, on a 8 year old car that's running fine. I say "can I get the tires we agreed upon and leave it at that?". 45 minutes later, and 10 minutes before they close for the night my car is done, though the old tires are sitting in the car and I have to ask them to take them away, even though I payed for that service already. It felt like they wanted to be very clear - "you are so lucky to be spending $600 on a set of tires here, you should be happy with whatever happens", and I feel pretty f'd with after this experience.

We were in Santa Cruz for the day I got a flat tire it was 4:30 pm they don t close till 6:00 pm. I went in and asked if they could fix a flat tire real quick. Guy at the counter said they were pretty busy (doing what I don t know). He said I could leave it and pick it up tomorrow. I ended up driving to Watsonville to a mom and pop tire shop. They took me right in and teenage boy repaired and installed my tire in 15 minutes even though they were all busy not standing around bsing or on there phones.

What happened to Wheel Works SC? I recently went in for a scheduled appointment, I needed a patch for a nail in my tire. The pricing was fair, but instead of allotting the hour like they told me when I scheduled, it took them 2.5 hrs. They said that they would call when it was ready. They didn't, I called them. They said that they were short staffed and only had 2 people, but when I went to pick up, there were over 6+. Lastly, the icing on the cake was their staff, normally they are super nice. The person in front when I dropped off had an attitude that was entirely unnecessary and made the experience dreadful. See you never!

Came to try and get a new tire, the guy behind the desk who was Latino, short guy with long dark hair and a Bennie was not friendly at all, he said he didn t want to change my tire, he was bluntly rude and said he didn t have time at all and did not want to help any of the other days either. Do not go here, your better off going to big o tires, they are friendly there and make sure they want to help you. He was the guy closing the shop Saturday feb 12th when I arrived at 4pm which was not closing time.

I have tried to use this wheel works twice to put new tires on my car. In both cases I clearly communicated which tires I wanted (brand/model/size/etc) and scheduled an appointment to do the installation. In both cases I arrived for the scheduled appointment to learn that they did not have my tires. The first time, I was told to come back in a few days. I came back a few days later and they installed my new tires. The second time around, I arrived and was told that they did not have my tires. Then the salesman tried to sell me tires I didn't want from a different performance category (lower than what I wanted) that I had no interest in. The salesman then offered to get the tires I wanted, and to only charge me for 3 of the 4 tires. The tires that were on the car at this point were fast approaching bald, so I accepted his offer since it was the fastest way to get the tires I wanted...I have not heard from this wheel works since. I called many times, and they have not answered my calls. I have decided that this business is exceedingly poorly run and have taken my business elsewhere.I would strongly suggest going to another tire shop.

I arrived first in the lot and waited for the place to open. A second customer arrived after me. I just needed a plug for a nail. Had $10 in my pocket for a tip. Walked around the block to stay warm on the cold morning then returned 30 min later to find my vehicle in the parking lot and the 2nd customers vehicle up on the lift. Meanwhile, Kyle is smoking a cigarette curbside. I politely asked for my keys back and utilized Big-O-tires for my tire needs. This is a free service elsewhere BTW.
