Needed the timing belt changed on my car. Did a little research prior to scheduling service to get a ball park idea of what price to expect. Called the local dealer first and got their astronomical quote. Found Specialized Auto online and saw they had great reviews. Gave them a call and got a quote that was under half the price the dealer gave me. Also received some candid advice regarding some of the service the dealer tried suggesting I get done at the same time. Dropped my car off at Specialized Auto and was pleasantly surprised to find they offered a courtesy Uber back to my place. Got a call the same day that my car was done. They had it washed and ready for me when I arrived. Top notch service at a great price. What more can you ask for?

Great service. I had taken my car to another local shop they quoted me $2900 said I need a new radiator and all the hoses replaced. Turns out that I did not need a new radiator (additionally the one the other shop wanted to order for my car wasn t the correct / compatible radiator) I just needed a couple new hoses and I saved $2K. With the excellent service, hey Larry! and honest work this is where I will take my car from now on.

Couldn't believe how quickly they turned around our car!! Amazingly kind and quick service, super knowledgable, got us a part at a good price - they even washed our car's exterior before returning it!! Definitely the best experience we have ever had with a car repair shop!

Brought my 04 XC70 here after finding out it needed some front suspension work. The team at Specialized Auto were great to work with even though I had an idea of what needed to be replaced they went in and confirmed everything to avoid having to charge me for things I didn t need. They ended up actually saving me money because some parts were still good to go. This was my first time with them but it s now the only place I ll go to. Very honest people not trying to up sell you for no reason. You won t be disappointed going here

WONDERFUL service...friendly and knowledgeable. I've used them for years and will take my car to them only. First timer here. I choose specialized base on ratings and reviews, and not disappointed!, staffs are nice and super fast, not even halfway of my cup of coffee I made in their waiting room/ lobby. Excellent service when our X5 decided to join the low-rider BMW club when the rear suspension lost its air. Unlike a cool low-rider, it couldn t pump itself back up to regular ride height. Larry Richman got us in so that we would have the car over the holidays and the repair was done quickly and at a very fair cost. Thank you to the crew at Specialized.

tldr: an already top-of-my-list auto shop went up another level after pointing out AND THEN repaying me for a scratch I likely wouldn't have noticed!I've been going to Specialized for 10+ years because of the quality of their work and their clear communication with me. Now I can add integrity to their accolades. My car is not a rust-mobile but it's definitely not in mint condition.I took my car in yesterday for an oil change, trunk strut replacement, and some other misc. fixes. When I came to pick up my car, my mechanic, Mike, said something like "Something happened to your car and I need to show you." He looked pretty serious, so I got a little nervous, thinking I might be driving home missing a door or two. Turns out, there was a noticeable but very faint scratch on my bumper. Possibly the most noticeable scratch, but one of many.They took 100% responsibility. They offered to have the bumper repainted or credit me for their work. I said credit. I was being pretty obvious how little it mattered to me, but they took it veeery seriously. The way they responded almost made me self conscious... like was I getting angry and demanding without even realizing it?Anyway, they ended up crediting me ~$350 of work because they estimated that's what it would have cost to have my bumper repainted. Again, this is a scratch that I likely wouldn't have noticed if they didn't point it out. Even after they mentioned it, I probably would have been satisfied with a free air freshener. But they treated me like I was the most vigilant car owner with a fresh mystichrome paint job.I don't know enough about good business to say whether that was a good business move. I can imagine it was. I know it was a good human move. I was so impressed and grateful. It made at least that one part of my day!

Specialized is AWESOME! We had a recurring issue that was challenging to diagnose. They troubleshooted until they found the issue and replaced the necessary part. So appreciate Paul for his willingness to listen and come through!

I am glad to be back with Specialized to care for my car. Stayed with the Mercedes dealership through the warranty, but now I'm back! They took care of my last car, an Audi A4 beautifully, and I'm confident they will show the same care for my current car. Thank you Specialized!

While the service on my car was great today, the customer service I received from the first employee this morning was not great at all. It was unprofessional and rude. The second employee Paul that assisted me was courteous and provided wonderful service.

The staff are very kind and are always putting the customer first in their interactions. The service is always thorough and on point with what they are being asked to do. I always take my vehicles to specialized auto and always tell friends and family about this top level business.

Larry is the best service advisor ever, needed a new catalytic converter to pass emissions he helped me order one and install one quickly now my car is able to be on the road for years to come. Thank you Larry and everyone else at specialized

I've been a customer at Specialized for over 20 years. I keep coming back because of the high quality work and the exceptional customer service. I'm buying a new car, and one of the criteria for the purchase is that it can be serviced at Specialized. Thanks to all there for taking the time to care for my vehicles (and me) over the years!

Specialized Auto is a rare find! I was so happy to find a shop that installs hitches on my Toyota Highlander hybrid model. The appointment was easy to schedule (they weren t booked months out like U-haul was), the customer service was super friendly, the work done was excellent, the price was competitive (more affordable than the U-haul quote) and they even surprised washed my car for me (game-changer for me). It was such a pleasant and delightful experience to have a well-done and timely install job AND get a clean car back in my hands. Super excellent service - I would definitely come back for more vehicle work and recommend others to this shop!

They saved me a lot of money. Took my car to the dealership and was told I needed a new transmission 6500.00 dollars! I bought it here to see if it could be done cheaper. It turned out to be a pan gasket. My wife's car was losing coolant. I checked and found a leak. Tried to fix and could not. Brought it in and told guy needed a new radiator. Got a call saying it needed a radiator which I already knew and told them. Found out part of bill was for pressure testing for leak which I already told them it was leaking and needed a radiator. So feel like I was overcharged for work that did not need to be done as I told them it was leaking and needed a new radiator.Service: Auto water leak repair

I ve taken my 20+ year old BMW 5-series car to both Specialized Auto locations (Santa Cruz and Watsonville) for routine service and to fix unexpected repair issues. I have always received excellent service. The car runs well. The service technicians and public-facing staff members are knowledgeable and pleasant, and I couldn t ask for more. This visit was to diagnose and fix a recurring misfire in one of the valves/pistons. The service team troubleshot the issue well and the car and I couldn t be more pleased.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Vehicle Inspection, Vehicle safety inspection, Oil change

Larry at Specialized is by far the most professional, helpful and honest auto technician I have ever met. He was able to diagnose the issue on our 2012 BMW 535I within minutes. Specialized went above and beyond our expectations and they even hand wash your car. If you need repairs or maintenance look no further. Specialized Auto is the place to go.

The staff there was super helpful and even managed to get me in after a mix up with scheduling. They don t normally take my year and type of truck but they did and did an incredible job getting it ready to pass smog and sold. Thanks y all!!
