Went in for smog check and the guy I talked to in the office was not polite or welcoming in the slightest. He made comments about how he could tell I've never been there before. I waited for around 35 minutes till they called me back to the office to tell me they could not do the smog check. I would not go here if you are a young woman very unwelcoming and unhelpful.

Have to watch these guys. They are very shady call them up told me $75 after we re all ready to go jacket up to $85 after I called him on it he proceeded to tell me to get out of his shop and never come back. great customer service right in a small town like Santa Cruz Terrible do not show up here

I have brought both my vehicles ( 2 seperate occasions about a year apart ) to these fine folks to undergo extensive and required smog inspections, in order to satisfy California State Emissions' rigorous high standards of engine performance.In a keen location, just one block East of Morrissey Blvd. on Soquel Ave., you will find this outfit with an A1 outstanding crew. They are honest, knowledgeable, and most capable in the services they provide... all at an affordable rate.Both vehicles are registered and road-ready. You drive in. They set you up usually in 30 minutes your done. Can sit and wait for it to be done. They have always done a fantastic job making a smog check easy and painless. Best prices in town.Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

i give 3* bc the staff is very nice but the price is very high i have to stop them and move to another shop then i can save 50$ their rate is 140$ and holiday smog is only 90$, thank you the the guy who helping me

This place right here is one of the best shops that I've been to. This is where I'll bring my Subaru for now on. They were very transparent and showed me my old parts. As a woman it has been hard to find an honest mechanic and I finally found one.

Smog Plus Service is the best smog check service in town. Also with a full service mechanics garage. Honest and trustworthy.For many many years I have used their services and I have always been pleased with the quality and speed of their service. I don't take cars anywhere else in Santa Cruz for smog checks!

My smog check went without any problems. The fellow at the counter was friendly and helpful. He took my keys and helped me fill out the form. I spent 45 minutes reading and chatting in there outdoor tent/sun shade. No problems, but I suggest bringing your entertainments of choice.

I had a great experience here! Called yesterday, got a quote and booked an appointment. Came in this afternoon and got my smog test done in a snap! Great experience getting my smog check done today! They took me in without an appointment, had a nice chat with Jan in the office, and was out of there in about 20 minutes (even with a car ahead of me). Also was the cheapest out of the 3 places I called. Thanks for the great service, you have a happy customer!

Reasonably priced. Friendly and knowledgeable customer service. I didn't have an appointment and they were able to get my vehicle in and out within 30 minutes. All the paperwork was electronically submitted to the DMV which made it easy for me to renew my registration online.

I really enjoyed my experience here! Called yesterday and Jan gave me a great quote. Came in this morning right as they opened and got my smog test test! Great value and great speedy service! After my experience this morning, I can confidently recommend that you take your smog related business to Smog Plus Service.They were awesome. I was extra appreciative because I called at 8:30am and he was able to do a smog check at 9:00am on the same day.All of the other shops I called could not get me in for same-day, or they wanted me to leave my car all day, or both.JAN* was who I spoke with, over the phone and also who I spoke with in person when I arrived. I assume that he was either the owner or the manager of this establishment.*(pronounced JAN, as in January, ...not Jan as in Yawn. )Jan was down to earth and friendly, and had me in and out in 20 minutes, even though I didn t have all of the proper paperwork in hand. He did seem a little guarded at first, but not in a bad way. My guess was that he probably has to deal with quite a variety of personalities on a daily basis...Overall, this was a 5-star experience for me. It was painless and very quick. They were also set up very well for health & safety, and they practiced responsible and appropriate social distancing. The waiting room was outside and they had an automatic touch less hand sanitizer dispenser and proper clean and dirty pen jars for customers to use and return as needed. I would definitely recommend them and I plan to return here for the next car I need to smog.

I love this place! I have a 2006 Audi that has 181K miles on it and a check engine light that wouldn't shut off. After spending $700 at my mechanic in Monterey, fixing the faults listed on the computer, they still were not able to get the check engine light to go off and the car was due for a smog. Well, Fardad the owner of Smog Plus, promised me he could fix the problem and after 3 tries we were golden! Not only was he able to fix it, he also gave it to me for a very reasonable price. I'm recommending them to all of my friends. Fardud, Jan and Cesar are really knowledgeable, helpful and very kind souls. Go there! you won't be disappointed.Service: Smog certification

SMOG test prices are a great deal relative to neighboring shops and the facility is STAR certified too. Jan is always very helpful and easy to communicate with over the phone. After my STAR test, I returned another day to have my headlights restored for a fair price. I'll continue to come here for SMOG tests and explore the other services they offer.Services: Smog certification, Emissions testing

Have been coming here for a couple years. Smog check prices are reasonable. Fardad, who has worked on my vehicle before, is great and I would recommend asking for him specifically. Unfortunately, the other owner is extremely combative and rude. I can't recommend bringing your vehicle here unless you don't mind being patronized by the grumpy old man who runs the place.Services: Smog certification, Oil change

They are a STAR smog station if you need one. Price good for the Santa Cruz area, better than even non star stations with no free retest on fail like these guys give.Wearing masks and putting plastic cover on seat before driving car were appreciated precautions as well as outside table for paperwork, payment, etc. Can't think of anything they could be doing better. So 5 stars :)

I stumbled upon this place while looking for a smog station that would pass and certify a '94 Nissan at a reasonable rate. 20 min. Later I was good to go! Not only was I impressed with the service, their attitude and knowledge was refreshing. So I returned when Ineeded repair work. Cesar, Fred and Dak make a great team in a small shop. I highly reccomend.Fair prices and quality work!

I have a car that's been difficult to smog and another place (Holiday) would no longer try, but these guys found the faulty sensor And a small exhaust leak, for a reasonable price! :) I really appreciate them.

Soquel Auto Repair is the best deal in town! Honest people and great mechanics. Fred and Cesar have been taking care of our cars for almost 20 years. They are now in SC, near Soquel Ave and Morrissey. You can't go wrong here!Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

I take my car to Jonny for everything from Smog, to new struts, to my check engine light going on. He s friendly, honest about pricing and prioritizing what needs to get done on my budget. Highly recommended!

First Rate! Drove up, signed, sat down, read and 20 minutes later I was out the door. Easy to get to and not packed parking as the other smog locations have nearby!Good quality professionals at taking care of my smog!

Not sure if the last reviewer was talking about the same place. I have never seen a coupon for this auto shop. The owner, Fardad, is an honest guy who won't take you for a ride. My first experience here was after following a coupon for Precision Tune and Auto Care, after which they told me I needed over $1000 of maintenance work. I brought it to Fardad and he did all the work they recommended for hundreds of dollars less.
