After storing my motorcycle for 8 years in a garage that had a river running through it when it rained, all the chrome rusted. I moved out, and decided to see if I could have it restored. I contacted Reed the owner of Santa Cruz Motorcycle Service. He picked the bike up for me, and not long after having it, had the idea to powder coat the rusted chrome, instead of replacing the parts. Brilliant! Saved a bunch of money, and I think it looks better than the original look. Jeremy over at "Powder Coat It" in Santa Cruz did that part of the job for me, and it came out amazing. Reed's attention to detail, especially in regards to making sure the bike ran correctly, all the electrical was perfect, and replaced the brake lines, and pads, put new tires on it. The thing runs like a new bike, and looks fantastic! Thanks to Reed for his patience, and diligence through the whole process. You've heard the old saying. "You get what you pay for". I'd go back in a heartbeat!

I had a really great overall experience today with these guys today.I was overdue for my first service on my new motorcycle, so I called them first thing when they opened to see if they had any availability that same day.They had me in and out in under an hour and I also left with a ton of suggestions and tips with my bike and looking into modifications I was also considering.Not only did they provide a great experience, they were also priced incredibly reasonably for both the labor and the supplies involved. So much so, that I found out I was actually a bit ripped off at a different retailer when attempting to purchase my own oil and filter elsewhere to attempt to do it myself.I actually paid the same price to have them do it for me with their oil and filter than I did paying for my own oil and filter from a different motorcycle supply store.Which I genuinely appreciate them for not taking advantage of my newbie ignorance and doing the service properly with the correct supplies instead of trying to upsell me on things I didn t require.In the works of having them order me a new seat as well. Always thrilled to support a local business right in my home town, especially when they deserve the credit where the credit is due.Thank you Alexis and the rest of the crew, y all are much appreciated.

Santa Cruz Motorcycle Service is like a second home for riders seeking a laid-back yet professional experience. Reed, the owner, is not just amazing but adds a friendly touch to the whole atmosphere. It's the kind of place where you walk in, and it instantly feels like you're among friends who know their bikes inside out. The cool and easygoing vibe of the staff doesn't compromise their professionalism they get the job done with a relaxed confidence that puts you at ease. These guys genuinely love what they do!

I bought my first Triumph from Reed after formerly being a Harley rider. I couldn t be happier with my decision!The experience has been a fantastic one! Reed is extremely knowledgeable & a pleasure to work with. He is a local who has been building and fixing up bikes for years & recently took over this shop. It s nice to support someone local who is sharing great products & services!As a female rider I am very cautious about getting all the info before committing to something mechanically. This place is somewhere I d recommend anyone come for repairs or if you re looking for a whole awesome custom bike of your own. The shop is clean & organized. They are straight shooters if you will. The prices are fair & work gets done well & at a good pace.Definitely suggest checking out the place if you re in the neighborhood! It s right by REI & Marshall s.You don t even just have to take my word for it. Lots of other folks in the business recommend him too.10/10 across the board.

Santa Cruz Motorcycle Service (SCMS) and the owner, Reed, are the very best. Riding more than 20 years, I always struggled to find a decent mechanic, much less a great one - well, Reed is an AMAZING mechanic!He went above and beyond in fixing a very unfortunate flat for me. He is smart, funny, and really skilled working on bikes. He works on all kinds and all ages of them. Lucky for me, he's also a Triumph expert!He not only fixed my (completely ruined) tire, but checked over the bike for safety and maintenance issues that might be there. I left his shop with a bike that was not only running, but safe and riding even better than when I came in!His rates are incredibly reasonable. His talent is above and beyond. And he is a good guy.SCMS is the shop for you. I have been to many, many of them. This place, and Reed, are it. I am certain you will find it fair, reasonable, and, most importantly, you can trust your ride with Reed.

This shop is awesome! We had some issues with our Harley while on vacation and Reed was extremely accommodating and friendly. He was genuinely concerned about our situation and was willing to stay and wait until we could get to his shop. Reed pushed our Harley to the top of his list even though he had other bikes waiting for service. He was about to get us up and running in just a couple of hours! Thank you so much for your fantastic service and care!

I had an Indian FTR that I got t-boned on, wanted to get it repaired. Reed has been absolutely awesome and he and his team did an amazing job getting my bike up and running. Working with him has been absolutely fantastic and he even helped me out with my other bikes. If you need any work done, I recommend his shop, 100%

I recently visited Santa Cruz Motorcycles Service for a fork service and to fix a leak in my front cylinder head, and I couldn't be more impressed with the quality of service I received. They quickly identified the problem, communicated the necessary repairs. I highly recommend them.

My coworker recommended me to this shop. I brought both my dirt bikes for maintenance. Reed and his team are extremely professional, knowledgeable and very responsive. Made me feel very comfortable that I was in good hands. This is the only place I will service my motorcycles going forth. I have a 2016 triumph, which was built up by Reed. He does excellent work. He now owns Santa Cruz Motorcycle Service where I have brought that bike for service and I m very happy with the work they do, very professional. Reed is THE MAN. We had ridden up from SoCal when I got a flat on the freeway. Reed came and got us and brought us to his shop. Holy Amazeballs, the bikes he s working on are so beautiful! He s also got some gear he s selling. He loaded us up with snacks and provided top notch service! He s so knowledgeable and his work is u rivaled. I will gladly come back up from SoCal to have Reed and his crew modify or work on my bike. They know their stuff.Outstanding work and friendly to boot? Nobody better!

Had a number of jobs done here. These guys offer great advice and do a phenomenal job. Great attitudes, they all clearly have a passion for tinkering on bikes on and off the clock. Sylvan, Jimmy, and Reed are the best in the business! My little XT250 pales in comparison to the other bikes they wrench on, but it feels like a XT9000 after servicing at SCMS!Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair, Engine repair, Wheel alignment

These guys are great, absolutely recommend their services. Always very knowledgeable and resourceful and have always been extremely fair and helpful with everything. Really appreciate all their work and would definitely suggest taking your bike to these guys if you need something fixed right and for a reasonable price.

After experiencing a weekend breakdown and being several hundred miles from home, Reed and his team were the only shop within miles willing to work beyond closing time in an effort to get us back on the road. Reed was very personable, welcoming, knowledgeable and thorough with his service. We were able to continue our trip following the repair and even received a text later in the evening from Reed checking to see that we made it safely to our destination. I came here after being recommended this place from a friend. Reed and the rest of his crew have consistently been friendly and helpful. Prices are fair and they are willing to work with your situation, when appropriate. Everyone here is knowledgeable and dedicated, and I will definitely be coming back whenever I need work done on my bike!

Thank you Roddy for doing an awesome job on my bike. He was able to diagnose a problem on the bike and get it fixed for me. Great communication, and a timely repair. He was referred to me by not one, but 3 other people. That s saying something. Lots of cool bikes in the shop. I m back on the road and couldn t be happier.

Bought a scooter a few years back knowing nothing about caring for it. Reed has been my to to guy for everything from maintenance to visual improvements. He s insanely knowledgable, helpful and informative through the whole process. Just visited Santa Cruz Motorcycle Service for a 12,000 mile service on my Tiger. I'm prepping for a cross country trip so I wanted to be sure the bike was ready. I will definitely have Reed look after my bike from now on. He is responsive, knows his Triumphs, and was quick and fairly priced. He went over my bike and proactively offered a few things that we should address before I leave. He was proactive - but didn't mansplain to me (other lady riders will appreciate this ) and has been awesome with a few troubleshooting follow ups. Thanks Reed! The owner Reed is an excellent guy. His customer service is outstanding. He answered any and all of my questions. The rest of his staff are very friendly as well. Reed is also very prompt and timely with his communication when i texted or called him. I got some work done on my sport bike and he assured me if there was any issue I could bring it back they would check it out ASAP. Come here to get work on your motorcycle, their shop is clean and organized, and their work is honest and excellent. They are straight shooters like all the other reviews and like it says on their site. They ll get you on the road in no time.Service: Engine repair

This is an amazing shop to take your motorcycles. Reed was very professional and very helpful. Got my first service on my Vitpilen and the price was great along side brake line replacement. He even took care of my height issue (as I tiptoed on my bike) by helping me lower it a tad bit. Right away Reed (the owner) was very welcoming in helping get my bike to him. He had to diagnose a no start and came off as a sharp guy who knew what he was talking about. In fixing the bike, he was incredibly thorough and communicated everything I needed to know at all times. He diagnosed the no start, did several other jobs I had been putting off (oil, chain, coolant), and even managed to change little things on the bike that had seen better days. AND got me out of there paying far less than I was expecting to.Services: Engine repair, Oil change

I just bought my first bike (a Piaggio scooter) and Reed did a wonderful pre-purchase checkup for me. He walked me through everything he was looking at and was careful to make sure I felt comfortable and safe on the bike, and even bled the brakes for me even though it was only supposed to be a checkup. He is very knowledgeable and excellent at what he does and I will absolutely be coming back to him for repairs in the future! Reed can work on anything and I would 100% recommend his shop for any bike repairs you may need. Great guy and great shop!Service: Brake service & repair

Finding trustworthy motorcycle repair in Santa Cruz has felt IMPOSSIBLE in the 6 years I ve lived here until now. I am so grateful this shop popped up. Great service by someone who has a genuine love for fixing bikes and engaging people in the process. Prices are more than fair and if you re willing he will talk you through the whole process. Highly recommend for people with ANY type of motorcycle.
