UPDATE: They also left a dent on the top of the car that i didn't notice until the next day. I tried to save time by coming to Lloyds and it ended up becoming a huge financial disaster.Brought in car for an oil change. Was called and informed that the oil filter was fused to the housing and that they were unable to change the oil. Then I later received another call stating that the oil filter housing was now broken and that the only way the car could be picked up was on a flat bed tow truck and the car would be stuck there all weekend until they get a part on Monday. Then I later received another call stating that they actually figured out there was a lock on the filter housing that releases the filter and they were finally able to change the oil. I paid the full price of $124 and got my vehicle. When I got in my vehicle I found that the glove box was completely removed and laying on the floor and a dirty air filter was laying on the passenger seat. I cannot even understand why the glove box would need to be removed for an oil change and why it would be left on the floor and I don't understand why a dirty air filter was left on my seat. Was it even my air filter, why was the air filter touched? I didn't ask for an air filter change. Did they take my air filter and leave me a dirty one on my seat? don't know what's going on but this was very sloppy and I will not be using or recommending Lloyds ever again.

Went in to get brake pads replaced, and the mechanic wanted to sell me on $4,500 worth of completely unnecessary repairs. I kept pushing back, asking how many of those repairs are actually necessary, and he finally settled on $400 to replace the brakes and do an oil change. It was the exact opposite of a trustworthy mechanic, I could tell he was trying to take advantage of people who don't know much about cars. They have B.S. "packages" where they claim they need to do certain repairs to maintain their standards, when actually they are just piling on unnecessary repairs to make more money. I truly hated my experience here and would advise you to take your car elsewhere.

I recommend them. It wasn t crowded and they took me right away. A few hours later the car was ready. They were able to repair the tire and charged a nominal fee.

Juan was awesome called on Thursday before Christmas and he ordered the tires at a great deal and had them installed the day after Christmas. I could tell they were busy and understaffed but he still took the time to call me afraid the wheels were the wrong size just to be sure. You can tell he really cares about the customers and their experience.

I went for a oil change. Supper awesome got told it will be a couple of hours. I did make an appointment but I guess it didn't work but that's ok. I had a check engine light on in my car. I had been told it was an e vap. Leak. I got turned away and got told Loyd's would be able to get it. I will be back for that. I was waiting for 7 hrs for a call. Then realized that when they checked me in my number was wrong on the paper. Oops but it was ok. Just thanks for helping me out. But way to go Zach and team!!!!

Always helpful, no matter how busy they are. Whenever I ve had low tire pressure or tire damage, they ve responded quickly and efficiently, and because they are also my go-to tire service, they don t charge for removal and repair of a damaged tire.

New ownership as of 2019, new management, and a bunch of the old employees left. It's a new place, not Lloyd's at all, shame they get to keep using the name as the soul is gone, payment office and waiting room is abandoned and missing all the nice touches like coffee, family, etc., Not anyone there at all for the 3.5 hours I waited. I got the distinct impression that there wasn't anyone there with a vested interest in the business itself - "when the cats away..." feeling, and that was confirmed by my overall experience. Got the wrong tire size, had a confused discussion about load rating versus speed rating, had to come back another day and the cost went up. No evidence they inspected the brakes, even though I reported pulsing, but they had time to tell me I needed new cabin and engine air filters and coolant change and battery, and list all the "customer refused" prices for their corporate statistics on the invoice. Battery is a month old, top shelf. You charge it before trying it? Don't let them put alignment on the quote and "back it out if it's not needed" as they'll just do the alignment, they "forgot" that I asked them to show me the inspection and let me decide, went on about not being able to get ahold of most customers for approval, which is not my problem and I was there the whole time. Claimed I pre-approved it - I did not, I asked them and trusted them to bring me the inspection report before doing the work, like last time, but should have made them remove it from the quote. Then went on about not having access to that report "it's way in the back and someone would have to walk it up here"... Sounds like the job y'all signed up for, and I'm sure you could string a cable to hook up a printer at the management desk if it's such a problem. Claimed I needed 1, then 2 tpms sensors, then said they are having trouble pairing with the other two, low battery etc and ended up telling me I needed all 4. Let me just say I've got doubts at this point, we'll see how the old sensors test. Worst : one tech said "don't worry about it" when he overheard how I'd not approved alignment, you know ... customer service...then instead of doing that or not the new Assistant Manager spent another 10-15 minutes making me wait in the office while he walked that back and "met me half way" aka only charging me for half the alignment I did not approve. Not sure if he was chewing out the tech or calling corporate for guidance. So my bill went from an initial quote of $460 to an out the door "discounted" price of $875. For TWO lowish grade tires. And I really don't want to hear the remote New York corporate owner response to this review. There was an opportunity to do the right thing while I was there. I'd say they lost a 10+ year customer but honestly it's the first time I've been to this shop, there was a different store there before owned by a local family. Sad the owner sold shop and name to this absentee outfit, as they are TREADING on it. "If you're on a budget go for the alignment instead of TPMS". Bub, EVERYONE is on a budget, and the alignment could have waited. "I hope you come back" indeed. Find a shop with local owners.

Stayed within quoted price + schedule, kept me updated, comfortableand clean waiting area, short walk to good coffee, library, and restaurants. Prices are competitive. Report on my car's condition was solid information and not upselling.

I'll start with this, I was looking at getting some tires for some aftermarket wheels on my car. The width of the rim was 9.5 inches. I asked them to put a 245 mm wide tire on the wheels and they said they couldn't? I spent about an hour listening to this guy talking on the phone asking other people if they'd fit. (Keep in mind you can fit 275mm wide tires on a 9.5in wheel if you wanted to) he said the widest tire he could put on the wheel was a 225mm tire. ????? Goofball. Then he said I would be able to buy the tire he just couldn't install them to the car? After I told him "yeah I got jack stands at home" he said let me ask my manager and I'll call you tomorrow... Never calls back. Goofy people man. Called up another place, said they could do that no problem.

I've lived in Santa Cruz for 30 years. Over the course of 3 decades I have dealt with 4 tire companies in town. Lloyd's is hands down the best. Not the cheapest. Definitely the most competent so over time the extra upfront cost works out. Alignments, wheels, tires, balancing experiences have all been the best I have had. I stopped going anywhere else in Santa Cruz 10 years ago.

Excellent service + professional and friendly staff.I popped down without an appointment to get a couple things checked on my car. Was greeting immediately on arrival, and my car was on the rack in less than 15 minutes. Estimates were accurate and honest. Ken spent a good amount of time going over everything and reviewing alignment / tire wear. My family has been going to Lloyd's for ages and it's clear why.

Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. I've taken my Chevy truck here for many services and diagnostics. They're always thorough and spot on. They do excellent work and their prices are very reasonable. This time I showed up late on a Saturday with no appointment and needed a tire rotation. They were super busy but managed to squeeze me in and get me out sooner than expected. It's always a pleasant experience. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could! Thank you, Lloyds!

We noticed our tire pressure warning light came on the dash. Checked the readings and right rear was LOW. Since it was after hours, we looked around everywhere online for a tire shop that was open - Lloyd's was the ONLY local shop open after 6pm (until 8pm on Mondays). Spoke to Ken and he said to bring it in. First we had stopped for ice cream and I noticed a nail in the center of that rear tire. Called Ken back again to let him know we had found the issue before our arrival and asked if they could get that repaired if we came right over. He said no problem. We arrived, he knew who we were (because of our vehicle description we gave by phone) and he told us how long the wait may be. Ken was very friendly and was sure to keep us updated about the status as we waited in the waiting area. He checked out the lady before us and informed us they were already started on ours. No surprise charges, we paid what he quoted by phone for the flat tire repair service, and they had us on our way BEFORE closing. He did say they would be sure to stay no matter how long it took to complete the other jobs ahead of ours, they would get us taken care of. We appreciated the honesty, genuine customer service, and that they got us back on the road that evening. A+ Service, Thank you Ken!

I get pretty stressed when it comes to car stuff, and I had just taken my car to the dealership for a regular checkup that had taken 5 hours vs the 2 they told me it would. After all of that they told me that I had something really funky going on and that they probably weren't the best people to handle fixing my alignment and I would need new tires. I called Lloyds and they said they could take me in that day. I came down and they were able to fit me right in and fix my alignment and then the manager gave me a good deal on Goodyear tires. I haven't driven my car yet with the new alignment and suspension but I appreciated all of the help and it only took 2 hours!

Place sucked. Service sucked. Guy doing my flat repair moved like a sloth. Slowest flat repair ever. They charged me for a tpms kit for $12.49. Tire only has 3200 miles on it. Looked it up after and it does not need to be changed every time a flat repair is done. They just did it without asking and charged for it. Not a very friendly place. Just had a arigance about them. Will never go back.

While the updates and the courtesy inspection were not provided, these were unnecessary given that all I was doing was getting flat tire fixed. Rapid service and a good price are why I gave the encounter a 5-star rating.

Fit me in at the last minute for all new tires, sensors, and alignment. Understandably it was going to take a few hours but Ken went above and beyond to make me and my young son comfy in their lobby. They did a fantastic job! Great service!!

I'm not sure if they were having a bad day or I wasn't being pushy enough but I'm not likely to come back..Did not tell me when it would be ready until after I asked then to specify a time which would be 1pm ish. That's great, buy it was almost closing time and I had to call to see if my vehicle ready. Then when I pick up my vehicle, the windows were all down and car unlocked and parked on street and out of view. This isn't the safest or cleanest street in town. When I mentioned something to them they just shrugged their shoulders and asked me to swipe my card to pay.No one went over the inspection results with me then when I asked they said "it's fine", then I got home and found that I have a headlight out - they didn't tell me. They could have swapped that for me but now I need to make another errand. Yes it's my responsibility to know and I can do this myself, but I expected them to say something about it since I paid them to do an inspection. I've had a few friends with similar experiences.Lloyd's used to be such a great shop, I'm bummed about the change in management. I don't trust these guys anymore.

I bought my tires at the Scotts Valley Loyds, but I like this one better. They are friendlier, so I come here for my rotations. I recommend getting there early in the am to get the rotation done sooner. They are located near a coffee place, so that's where I hang out while waiting. Oh, and they have restrooms luckily cuz the coffee place does not. The guy who checked me in was super friendly and professional.

Got me in and out of the shop in time for me to make it to work! They were just doing an oil change but they showed real care for my car and made sure everything else was in good shape. The new manager is a real nice guy and is still working hard despite his leg being in a cast. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for wonderful customer service.

I needed new tires for a road trip back home for the holidays. I went to Lloyd's for some help. Ken, recently the new manager of Lloyds, was FANTASTIC. He didn't pressure me into anything that I didn't need. I knew I was going to buy more expensive tires because they are just worth it. Although they didn't have the tires I wanted in stock, they were able to get them in the next day. Also, they are open until 8 PM on Mondays and Thursdays. That was extremely helpful because it allowed me to go in after work. Ken, you are and man, you worked magic to get me in and out with new tires. Thank you very much for your help.

These guys are awesome, they helped us out so much I really couldn't thank them enough. They did a fantastic job, their customer service is wonderful and they were quick and fairly priced. I really felt that they were open and honest and that meant a lot, thank you again for getting us back on the road!

Lounge area was hot, no water, no Wi-Fi. No updates on estimated one hour service that ended up taking 4 hours of time. This is not the same Lloyd s experience I have had in the past, which is a shame.

Good prices, polite staff. We had tires replaced on both my car and my Wife's. No one bothered to call us when the work was done, and both cars were left unlocked and with one window down out in the parking lot of a neighborhood frequented by scores of homeless people.Needless to say, I was disappointed. Not recommended.

The unprofessionalism of this place is second to none. The staff at Llyod's damaged a set of wheels that I brought in for a dismount and have not payed me for the damages. It has been 5 months. I am owed more than $500.I have been extremely patient and trying to work through their channels to get this situation resolved, but dragging it on for this long is simply abuse on their part.I just reported each and every person (by name and title) that I've had direct contact with to their corporate office for unprofessionalism on numerous accounts. In doing so, I have also found that zero cases had been logged on my behalf and no insurance request (required to pay me out for the damages) had been raised -- after all of this time.Constant phone calls (over 15), dropping by in person, (once a month) emails (6), etc. -- no results on their part. Zero.I always allow someone the ability to resolve a problem before writing a negative review. This has been a terrible experience. Avoid this place like the plague; I'm questioning the validity of the other reviews here.
