I went to this shop because of the reviews. I needed to get a new wheelset installed on my current set of tires. While balancing the tires, they scratched two wheels pretty heavily. A couple of the wheels did not have the valve covers i initially had on either. The kid that was helping me, offered a $10 discount, which I refused. They should have offered me my money back. They also ask for cash over card, red flag. Terrible customer service and does not hold integrity over their work. I think they are learning as they go. I highly suggest going elsewhere.

Good and genuine people, really do appreciate the outstanding service. came here about 2 weeks ago to install new brake's and rotors and haven't had anything wrong so thank you once again!

Went in to get a set of tires and was amazed in how good the prices were. They were able to get me in the same day and install my tires. Fast and easy ! Thank you

I visited the shop to purchase a set of four tires. Initially, I had a pleasant interaction with a polite staff member who helped me schedule an appointment. However, during my second visit, I encountered a different employee who was quite rude and appeared to be taking out their frustrations on customers. He kept complaining about the work, angrily throwing the tires, which was unsettling.After leaving the shop, I noticed that the low tire pressure warning light kept coming on. I returned to the shop to request a check, but the same unfriendly employee defensively claimed he hadn't made any mistakes and refused to inspect it. I made a total of four visits, and only on the third visit did I encounter the owner, who was friendly like the first employee, but my issue wasn't addressed due to time constraints. When I came for the fourth and final time, I had yet another unpleasant interaction with the rude employee, so I decided to seek assistance elsewhere.Furthermore, I was asked to make a cash payment for the tires and used an ATM located in the adjacent store. Unfortunately, the ATM failed to dispense the requested cash, despite deducting the amount from my bank account. The store employee suggested that the machine may have run out of money and advised me to return later. However, when I did, I was not refunded the lost money.Overall, this has been my worst experience at a mechanic/tire shop in California, despite having visited several others. I would strongly recommend considering alternative stores where customer service and politeness are top priorities.

The convenience store attached to this place sells stuff at different prices when different people work. They charge SIGNIFICANTLY more depending on who is there. Picked up something for 27.99 two days a week for the last three months, from the SAME GUY. I go in this afternoon, different person and it's suddenly it's 35. Nah.

Frank was unbelievably helpful and quick! I called him in the morning and was able to come in immediately and he was done changing my two tires in less than 30 mins. He also went the super extra mile of fixing a non tire related issue after he was done just to help me! The tires themselves are great and inexpensive! Highly, highly recommend him!!!!!

I went in to get my rims painted. He sprayed painted them. But took several times to get it right. The 3rd time they looked great but after a month or two paint chipped off the rims. Now I'm just going to raddle can it myself. $500 bucks down the drain. Nothing against him but oh well. That's what I get for paying for something I knew a could've done myself.

Update 3/7/22: I'm moving across state lines in my van and noticed a terrible wobble after bringing the first load of our stuff out. I have to drive back again tomorrow and desperately wanted it to be a safe trip. The owner, Frank, got me in on short notice today and swapped out the separating tire and the next worst one as well. He even put the newest tires on the front for me, and all for just over a hundred bucks. Fast, friendly service, AND affordable!? There's nothing more I could ask for. Because of Frank, my tire won't explode on the way to my new home. Thanks for everything!!!

Enjoying our Hwy 1 road trip, when we unfortunately ended up with a screw in our tire while going through Santa Cruz. It was almost 5 and we were worried we wouldn't find somewhere that was still open to help us. Luckily we found Independent Tires! They were fantastic, even on the start of a holiday weekend, the owner stayed late to fix our tire. Great people and service, highly recommended. Thank you Independent Tires for saving our trip :).

Steven really took good care of us and was very friendly. I trust them and believe that they are doing the best work they can on my car. I wish they did More Than Just Tires because I would like to go to them for everything having to do with my car. Highly recommend them to anybody that wants a great deal and some great quality tires. The owner, Frank, cares about his clients and it is very clear!

Highly recommended!...Great personal serviceand great prices!...Frank and his crew were veryhelpful...The owner Frank has a very positive attitude and took time to work with me to findthe best tires for my truck. He even installed asimilar tire on one rim to see how it would lookbefore I ordered a set of four tires. His assistant Juan was also very polite andhelpful during the whole process. I don tthink there is a tire shop in town with lowerprices or better service than Independent Tires!

Best tire shop in Santa Cruz! Great prices in town for new and used tires, brake repair, and general mechanic services. They are quick, reliable, and the owner Frank got me the tires I needed in the same day with a great price! I recommend all my family and friends to go here.

Great place, great service, great price! We needed tires, and we brought our own brakes and rotors to be installed at the same time. They got us in immediately, and we hit a snag...... we had the wrong size rotors! Any other place would have refused to do them. And just sell the tires. The owner here was so nice and had one of his mechanics give us a ride to O'Reillys to exchange them and got everything done in time so that we weren't late picking up our kids from daycare! We will be bringing all our trucks here from now on!

We stopped here for a emergency repair. Our rotors and brakes were at the end of there life and we needed to cheap used tires for the front. He gave us a really good price on everything. We had to wait a little bit but nothing good happens fast when it comes to auto repair and safety. I'd sure like to see this guy's business grow!!!!! Thank you again

These guys are awesome, great courteous service, excellent prices, fast and professional. I like a Auto shop that looks and feels like a Auto shop. Classic restoration cars being worked, little projects being done. Not a sterile corporate clean and perfectly clear , but an old school garage that treats you with old school respect and courtesy.Check them out.

Really pleased with our experience here. Didn't have the used tires we were looking for but were able to get us new tires for a very fair price. Service was quick, considering the tires had to be brought from another location, & the staff was very friendly & helpful. Will definitely return for any other tire needs.

I needed a cheap used tire in a pinch.I talked to Frank the owner and he hooked me up. Frank is great! He knows how to take care of customers and he enjoys it.Will recommend Independent tires to everyone.

Was in town for a quick visit...got a flat tire and needed a fix QUICKLY!Googled used tires and this shop came up...Frank and his crew not only had our size, but got us in and out very fast! Clean and respectable...that's all this guy can ask for!100% recommended!

2nd visit. Just as good as the first! Both times I had very quick service. The owner is always there putting in sweat equity. Both times he listened to my situation, presented me with various options (new vs used, 2 tires vs 4 tires) pro's and con's of each, and was fine with whatever decision I made. Not a hint of a hard sell or upselling, even if I chose the cheapest option! Service was completed extremely quick ... Always faster than the estimate given. Highly recommend! Although I haven't used it, they offer roadside assistance as well.

Great business. My second time there. Honesty is so important when it comes to purchasing tires I bought used both times they're in much better condition than any used tires I've ever purchased before the owner listens to your concerns and he's honest with his opinions and they're all are hard workers great place to go

I'm sitting here right now, this shop has the best deals in this county!!! I called all around and he was the only one that had my size tires!! Then when I got here he even lowered the price!! What a nice guy!!! If your looking for tires and you can't afford new ones come here!!!

These guys are great. I needed tires for my old truck and they had used ones, installed, and old ones disposed of, for an amazing price. They are a great locally owned business, the owner himself on hand and working. These will be be go to tire guys from now on!

After calling around many places I came across independent tires and they where able to get me All 4 brand new tires for an amazing price also got me in the same day highly recommend. Very friendly as well.

I cannot fathom the fact of how many ppl including myself do not do enough research to save money. I found this place by calling all the tire shops in town asking for a specific tire and got different quotes all around but the one to stick out was Independent Tires. Frank is the best. Got me what i wanted at a great value.. Whos cares if the rotation is not free.. Its not like were promised tomorrow anyways. Hope this helps, thanks for reading.

This shop is a great shop. I spoke with a man named Steven and he delivers excellent service. He changed my tires quick. My local tire shop now
