I just had the best experience possible with this shop and its employees! Kim and Randy and everyone at AAMCO were the most professional, knowledgeable, kind, and helpful group I've ever worked with. I have a modified vehicle for disabilities and they found a way to get my van back to me as quickly as possible. My vehicle complicated, but they worked so hard and did whatever was necessary to make sure it was safe and completely fixed. Honestly, I've never had a better experience working with anyone anywhere. I so highly recommend bringing your vehicle to this AAMCO and rest easy knowing you are in the best hands possible.Thank you again, Kim and Randy! You are greatly appreciated!

AAMCO is the best place ever! It s my go to place! And, today I just didn t know where to go & of course I went there & was treated with respect, courtesy & friendliness! Zack took care of the problem (along with the technician) and today was no charge! I have all my work done there. I trust them so much! Thank you AAMCO~Kim, Zack, Randy!!

Randy at AAMCO is a LEGEND! My van wouldn't fit in any shop in town, including theirs. Just as I was leaving, Randy offered to do a free diagnostic. He ended up discovering a loose spark plug, and fixed it on the spot for free, saving me days of waiting and calling shops for help. I highly recommend the group here at AAMCO

So glad I was referred to AAMCO on Ocean street from good friends I trust..Kim and Randy brought back the "small hometown" feeling back and they were so kind and professional. Easy to work with and everyone who heard what my bill was said it was really reasonable considering the work I had done..I wouldn't hesitate one bit to refer anyone to AAMCO..There's a reason why you need to make an appointment. That's a good sign . Glad that locals business owners are doing well though it's a tough business to be in....Thanks again Kim and Randy..I won't havce to think twice about returning.You can bet I will..

Don t do business here. I brought my truck here a couple years ago and thankfully didn t schedule the 8000+ work they claimed was needed. But my friends haven t been as fortunate. The woman who owns the place and occupies the service office is literally a crook. I could go on about the incompetent work but what is my chief concern is this woman s lack of any moral compass wrt money. She will outright steal parts off your vehicle to coerce and extort money she believes herself entitled to. Her pleasant demeanor vanishes the minute she senses there is no money to be fleeced.Avoid this business until there is a change of ownership

best shop in sc hands down!!! and I've been to all of em. Kim is knowledgeable with obvious decades of experience plus friendly, understanding, and accommodating. She s always ready to make a plan to get your car into tip top shape, prioritized by honesty and YOUR needs! There s some quality shops on the east side but none with rates as reasonable or comparable customer service. I ve moved away from Santa Cruz but will always make the drive to this shop for anything above an oil change. Even when Randy just tops off my fluids my car drives away feeling better than it did before. They ve got the magic touch!! So many shady shops in SC. Don t get duped! Go to Kim!!

Even though my car was beyond repair, Kim the owner was so helpful and wonderful. Had to tow my car there from big O tires and Kim even kept it overnight after providing me the details. No charge either. Would recommend definitely

These guys are absolutely awesome. Cody was a pleasure to work with. I needed my clutch and slave cylinder replaced on my Jeep Wrangler, they not only had competitive pricing but also warranty the work which was surprising to me on a clutch. The job was done within 24 hours of me dropping off the vehicle.

Drove all the way from Gilroy to get my transmission serviced here. There was a million and one places I could ve gone to around the corner from me, but only trusted them. The reviews speak for themselves. My only interactions were with Kim over the phone and in person and she was very nice and knowledgeable! They re a quality shop!

I've gotten work done at this shop and they were extremely kind, transparent, and honest. At a different time many months later, the main guy running the show gave me car advice and looked at some damages for free even though his shop doesn't specially fix these damages. I definitely recommend them!!

Kim at AAMCO was a rock star. She was polite, informative and very helpful in arranging the replacement of my damaged transmission under the extended service contract for my 2012 Dodge Grand Caravan. I work for a plumbing company and and our fleet vehicles were in need of some maintenance. A friend referred me to Kim at AAMCO and I'm glad he did. I have had nothing but great results with this place. Kim and Randy are top notch and super friendly. They provide excellent service at a fair price. AAMCO! This is one of the best mechanic shop experiences I ve ever had. I took my 2006 Chevy Impala in to get it inspected for transmission issues. My situation was a Unique one for the reasons that there was potential bodywork needed to be done before they would Proceed. With further inspection we decided to go for it. They worked with me by allowing me to purchase my own subframe from another company which mechanic shops don t usually do. To make a long story short my Transmission and differential are like new my vehicle is running like a champ, and I m a happy camper. Truly the best professionals around ! My experience with this AAMCO, and especially working with the owner, Kim, was AMAZING! Kim is AWESOME!! I have had trouble with AAMCO service in the past, and that tainted my perception of ALL AAMCO's, but I learned that it is actually a franchise and each shop is independently owned - this makes all the difference. The shop here in Santa Cruz helped me to understand that, and they were so wonderful to work with.I needed a new transmission on my van after some time, and Kim answered all of my questions honestly, and with variety - something that is not typical of auto shops who simply want to sell you up. I was given quotes of several different options that were available to me, each with different price points, and all of them were reasonable relative to the nature of the option. They also replaced my window rotary motor, and my back door hatch. I highly, highly recommend doing business with these folks - you won't regret it!Services: Transmission, Battery

I left my Jeep with AAMCO after I had been dealing with what I thought was a transmission issue for quite some time. Kim and her technician were quick to find the real problem with my car. After a diagnostic test they determined that it was not my transmission after all! After a quick tune up my car was running perfect! I appreciate their honestly so much, I could have just been charged for a new transmission. Thank you kim and AAMCO team! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Ask for Kim and she will take great care of you.

The transmission Job that they performed on my car was amazing! Add a minivan that had almost 300,000 miles on it and these guys rebuilt it in three days! When I drove my car once I got it I feel like I was driving a brand new car! We drove to LA she got it done half days because she knew I was leaving out of town she threw in a bunch of work for free and made me feel like I was her Most favorite client! I guess such a one on one service with texts and emails I loved it. They also have an amazing warranty that other employees don t have back it up 50,000 miles or three years which ever comes first. If I could give 10 stars I would! They are very, very honest. I went there thinking I needed a transmission. They checked things out, and found that I really didn t need one at all. Saved me a lot of money. Kim, the owner, is very knowledgeable and honest. They not only do transmissions but lots of other types of car repairs and service as well. I had my Honda Odyssey transmission rebuilt in 2016. After 2 days, the transmission leaked all over our driveway. I returned to the shop where they fixed the leak and offered to give buy me cleaning materials so I can clean the driveway. The transmission then had occasional hard shifting. I returned once again and they were not able to replicate the problem. Now in 2022 and 38k miles later, the check engine light came on with a transmission code. After $400 of mechanical work and assessment, the transmission needs to be rebuilt again. It's passed the 3 year, 50k warranty and is no longer valid. Now they charge $4k to rebuild. They are kind and friendly, but I am not pleased with the end results. I cannot recommend this business.Service: Transmission

In a world where it seems that customer service has gone by the wayside, AAMCO on Ocean St. in Santa Cruz, is a steadfast rock of integrity, professionalism and true customer care. The owner Kim recently helped our family with our Suburban s transmission issue. Having been to another service shop in Scotts Valley and the horrible experience there, AAMCO was a true breath of fresh air! Not only did they treat us with respect and compassion, but they gave us five-star professional service every step of the way. We were cheerfully greeted, given clear upfront guidelines on how they do their pricing and they communicated with us very step of the way, regarding the repair process. Their professionalism never wavered and we felt that they truly took the time to listen to our concerns, properly diagnose the issue and had their seasoned and expertise staff handle our vehicle with great care. Their communication is second to none. We were kept up-to-date on the entire process and got our vehicle back in a very timely manner. It gives me comfort to know that their staff of automotive professionals, are well versed in a wide variety of vehicle maintenance and repair, as this will undoubtedly be the only shop we plan to take our vehicles to from now on. So, if you are looking for specifically transmission care and service or for complete auto care, look no further than AAMCO Santa Cruz! Thank you again Kim for easing our anxiety and providing us with the much-needed care we were looking for our Suburban. You give us hope that customer service is indeed not dead, on the contrary, it appears to be flourishing at the the shop under your care. You rock!

Thank you Kim and Steve for your prompt attention to my F150! I am from scottsdale Arizona. I am staying in Seaside. I am in town for my company and have been here for the last week. I lost overdrive and third gear in my truck Sunday night. Other companies said they could not even get a transmission for me until next week. And then a two day turnaround time. Well, I limped over to Santa Cruz in second gear. I dropped my truck off around 11 AM. They said they hope they could have my truck back to me by Friday. I got it back on Thursday! What a great job! Not to mention, the price! It was half of what other companies quoted me! I am a mechanic for the airlines! I can't do this kind of work in the parking lot of a hotel! I am very pleased and ecstatic with the service that I received from the people at AAMCO transmissions in Santa Cruz! My "D" (Drive) light was blinking...and after looking it up online, it was clear I should not wait...as it had a connection to the transmission. I did some researching online and saw this Aamco highly rated, but then a number of my friends were giving names of their auto mechanics, until one of them said "oh yeah! Use Aamco Santa Cruz, they're awesome!" SO...I called, they got me in two days later and were able to diagnose the problem, ordered the part and whala! Car all fixed. Kim is not only friendly and helpful, but she really know cars! I would give this business ten stars...but they only allow five...so it will have to do. They are in a great location, too, right off the freeway!Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

Kim is amazing!! I've been having transmission issues with an old RAV4 and Kim was so helpful in talking me through what the problem was with my car and what to expect with the repairs. The whole diagnostic service and her expert advice was totally free too which I feel like is pretty rare these days. Super trustworthy place, will definitely be returning with any future issues!

I had a choice to go to a different Amco but after calling around Kim seemed the most professional of the many locations of AAMCO that I called. Even though I found one that was $400 cheaper, I decided to go with Kim because she made me feel secure and seems to know very well What was happening to my car. Also they guarantee that came with my Aamco service (three years or 50,000 miles ) what is there not to live? That was unbeatable especially since it s nationwide.I got my transmission fixed On my Honda that was 249,000 miles and she fixed my brakes and rotors threw in an oil change and did a bunch of other free work for me. How could I not love this place!!! She has so many rewards on her wall that made me feel very secure know that I will be taken care of. As a business owner myself I know the importance of customer service and Kim hit the ball out of the ballpark. I feel like my experience at aamco transmission in Santa Cruz Ca was a life saving one. Kim was such an amazing person. She gave me a great deal with a good warranty. She communicated with me throughout the whole process. She was kind, accommodating and most of all honest with me. I found her trustworthy cause everything she said was exactly how it happened. Everything was done promptly my car is now working and back in my life running great. I highly recommend Kim and the whole aamco transmission Santa Cruz team.
