I strongly recommend Rearend Specialty for differential work. They installed my Land Rover front and rear final drive units done there: air locker in one unit and LSD in the other. Prices are reasonable and fast turnaround and top quality work. Anyone in South Bay looking for a shop to work on differentials and drive units definitely give them a call.

I took my jeep gladiator to get re geared with Dana spicer parts and they got it all done in one day. They gave me a great price, were fast, and did a great job. If I ever need to regear something else I know where to go, now a days it's hard to find a shop that is fast and good. It seems like this is one of the few shops out there that still has quality and is proud of their work. Look at their reviews I'm not the only one that thinks so

Rearend Specialties is a great shop run by honest and kind people. I had my GM 8.2 10 bolt rebuilt about two years back. They were very communicative, met their deadlines, and informed me when they found issues (bent axle shafts). I sourced parts myself, and the team was happy to accommodate my requests.The axle has performed nearly 20,000 miles without issue, but I did notice a bit of a whine developing on deceleration recently. I brought it back in for a check-up, and Mike was able to get it lifted up, re-torque my pinion nut, and ensure the proper pre-load while I waited. He did a quick inspection to ensure the axle was still in good shape, and sent me on my way without a bill.There's nothing better than a communicative shop that stands by their work, and I thanks the guys at RES for taking care of me!Service: Steering & suspension repair

Rearend Specialties has regeared and installed lockers in 6 axles for me over the past 8 or so years. Many daily driven and hard offroad miles later and zero issues. One of the few shops left in the bay area that can properly set preload and backlash in differential gears.

I was concerned about gear noise on my Tacoma. Sara responded quickly on email, and despite being fully booked for weeks Adam was happy to spend 20min test driving and looking under my truck (and only a few days after I emailed). In the end it seems like the gears are OK. I offered to pay but they declined. Great experience.

Adam and Sarah did a great job getting my Toyota rear end rebuilt faster than I expected. Now I can enjoy my 94 toyota once again. They even offered to upgrade to Eaton posi traction. Thank you.

Came here to get a e36 LSD rebuilt, they swapped the ring and pinion as well too boot. They also allowed me to drop the unit off and buy my own parts which in turn saved me a lot of money. They were also able to give me an extremely reasonable no surprises involved quote over the phone which no rear end builder in the south bay would. Everyone else said bring it in and well take it apart then quote you.

Had 3.91 gears put in my 5th gen camaro, great customer service here, there's a reason everyone goes here, it's because they're the best at what they do, any rear end work should be done here, fair pricing and honest people here.

Brought in my complete diff for a ring and pinion gear change as well as putting in stronger axels and a true-track limited slip.4 days later it's a done deal. (My baby got back now! C; )Mike was straightforward with the estimate and stuck to it. They saved all my old parts and even hot tanked the diff per my request.The work comes with a 1 year warranty. Ended up costing 1/2 the price of a new one.All they do are rear ends and they stay busy. That should tell you something C:

I was very satisfied with Rearend Specialties . I took my rearend to them thinking it was going to be extremely expensive. That was far from the truth. Not only did they have reasonable pricing, they are honest. My differential ended up to not be broken. And they told me it may not be broke before they opened it up . I don t know much about rearends so they could have told me anything and they didn t.Very refreshing. I ended up doing an upgrading to POSI and they did a great job! I m a very happy customer.

Helpful and knowledgeable folks. I was looking for a hard to find, discontinued part for my older Jeep. They did not have the part I was looking for, but they had an equivalent that they sold me for an incredibly reasonable price. Also gave me some places to look for the original if I decided not to use the equivalent.

Had Rearend Specialties recently re-gear and rebuild the front and rear axle for my 1983 jeep. The three week job turned into two months with little communication. The front axle had inner and outer bearing installed in the wrong order casuing obvious issues once I reinstalled the axles on my jeep. The rearend also had a Ox-locker installed, they did not install the diff cover correctly to engage the shift fork. This company will no longer get my business, from a long time customer. Terrible experience all the way around.

Went through 2 mechanic's that couldn't figure out what was wrong with the rearend. Till stumbled upon Rearend Specialties. They did an amazing job and the whining and clunking is gone!! I highly recommend Rearend Specialties!

Been using this shop for a long time. They do a lot of heavy lube so my 4x4 gets that smell if it s in their shop overnight.....I trust these guys and they have a lot of people working now - so I m not the only one
