The mechanics at Precise Auto Repair are genuine and honest. I've had one repair there, they gave me an honest assessment and have had no problems at all. They are never too busy to speak to you, explain something or answer a question. I really appreciate their business!

Tom and his team are great. Inexpensive, friendly, and responsive. Tom also did a great job of explaining what was wrong with my vehicle/why, as well as providing information to prevent future problems. They went the extra mile and I highly recommend them!

Initially brought a friend over to get a brake job done and they did a great job. Came back again to get a oil change & transmission drain and fill for my Corolla and they made sure to use the OEM CVT fluid (really important for this vehicle). Did the timing belt job for another vehicle as well and they've been really helpful in answering all of my questions. Happy to see that they're open to questions and using quality parts.

This place is gold. I took my car here because it made weird noises, and after a 5 minute test drive with one of the mechanics I was told what the problem was. He then recommended me to go to the dealer because it should still be covered in my warranty. I then took my car to the dealer and the dealer was amazed by how I knew what was wrong and fixed it for free. Saved me 3000 dollars.

These guys are the best!!! I originally found their shop because of all the positive reviews they had on Google and they did not disappoint.Tom & Viet are so honest, knowledgeable, and their prices are really good. They've actually taken the time to show me the repairs that need to be done. Their cost estimates are much more affordable than other shops. Also, one time after I had parked my car on the street, I noticed the side of my bumper had popped out (probably was swiped by another car) - Tom was able to get it back in place and didn't even charge me! I told my mom about how wonderful these guys are and she started using this shop too.The only reasons I don't go here anymore are because I need a shop that's open on Saturdays, plus I moved. They used to be open on Saturdays but they stopped during the pandemic (which I understand).I highly recommend Precise Auto Repair!

Tom is amazing. He has serviced 4 of our vehicles for over 10 years. NEVER have we had a problem with his repairs. He is personable, caring and reasonable in price. They will let you know if it is a safety concern or if it is some thing to hold off until a future repair. They know their vehicles and can predict some the future issues with certain makes and models. There have been some instances where Tom came out the parking lot, turned on the car to confirm what we told him, and made a minor adjustment. Then 5 min. later sent us on our way with no charge. They are the best mechanics hands down. I ve been going there for several years now and they always do top quality work. Recently I had a rod knocking and needed a new engine. They installed the new engine from the factory and gave me a fair price. I highly recommend Precise Auto Repair for all your vehicle needs.

I took my car here because my check engine light went on and it was the closest auto shop to my location. I m glad I found this place, as they did a quick diagnosis and then, sent me to the dealership for a possible warranty resolution, instead of taking my business and money. I will definitely use them in the future for any auto/mechanical issues with my car. Highly recommend.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

My car was making a weird sound and I took it here for diagnosis. They were able to pinpoint the issue with certainty. The part was expensive to replace, so they suggested a variety of other options, first steps, and even other mechanics I could call to see if they could rebuild the part instead of buying a new or used one. In the end, I had them replace the rear differential and it fixed the sound.I'm really happy with their service and feel they did everything they could to help me save money. I feel treated with respect here. This is my go-to place now for maintenance.

Cannot say enough good things about Tom and his crew. Everyone is so personable & honest. They won t try to nickel and dime you for small things like I ve had before. Tom and his brother are very honest at auto repair. I have taken my Ford Bronco there a few times in the last couple of months, and they do the repairs quickly, fairly, and honestly.They give me a call before performing any repairs that were not talked about before they are completed. Offers great advice for future repairs as well. Will continue to have them do the repairs and tuneups for my vehicles.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Very knowledgeable and helpful owner. Price is cheaper than dealership also. No appointments needed, first come first serve. I go here mostly because it is close to my work place so it is very convenient to drop car off and pick up in the afternoon

Tom Tran the owner and his team are awesome honest people. We ve been taking all of our cars to Precise Auto Repair for a few years now. Although we live in South San Jose, it s worth the drive because we know our cars are in good hands. Tom & Viet are very good at what they do & we know the problem will be fixed & whenever they repair or replace anything they show us the parts replaced. Not like so many repair shops that SAY they did.We ve even taken family members who also choose to go back here because they trust they ll get the job done right!So, if you re looking for a great reputable, honest, well knowledgeable, reasonable priced repair auto shop you definitely want to go to Precise Auto. Tom is great and runs an excellent shop. They know their stuff and I've never felt they were taking advantage of me- more often they recommend options to save me money.They're best if you know what you need. They'll take care of it and that's that, which is great. But I'm not a car expert so occasionally I've asked them to do a general maintenance check, and they had no problem taking a look at everything for me and letting me know what might need work.Super honest and reliable. Been going here for years and highly recommend them.

Our car engine light came on soon after moving into Santa Clara. I found Precise Auto Repair, nearby on Google and saw great reviews. Tom diagnosed the issue to be a faulty solenoid valve and gave me a clear explanation and quote which was very reasonable. He fixed the problem within a few hours. I highly recommend this shop for quality service, timeliness and reasonable pricing.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

The most honest and straightforward mechanic I have ever visited. I told them my problem and they explained the issue of my car in simple and understandable terms. I thought I was going to have to spend $1500 on a new transmission, but I only had to spend a 1/3 of that. If I had gone anywhere else, they would have tried to charge me the maximum. This is a really nice place for value to money. Tom and his brother are straight talkers. They're tell you exactly what's wrong and what's the immediate repairs cost are. It's for you to decide what all repairs do you want.I've been coming here for 8 years now and never had an issue with anything.

I have been coming here regularly in the past 5 years for everything from small servicing to major repairs and even electrical troubleshooting. I've always been very impressed by the quality and speed of the work. On top of that they do this at prices that are cheap nation-wide, let alone in the Bay Area. I can wholeheartedly recommend them for any car related work.

Tom is an honest, upfront mechanic, doesn't try to up-sell anything and explains any issues very clearly before starting any work. His prices are always fair if not cheaper than most, and he doesn't buy cheap parts to save on price (unless you insist). His work has always been solid, and if there's issues with the parts, he takes care if it. This is a rare combination when it comes to mechanics, I wouldn't take my vehicles anywhere else and I refer him to everyone I know

The part that separates "Precise Auto Repair " from the rest is the quality of care with the first priority to save you money.....many times has "Tom" went out of his way to keep the cost down....the staff shares his commitment in quality of service in evidence of very low to non existent turn over rate...they listen to the issues you have with your vehicle. They analyze, and tells you the precise solution your car needs to keep it running smooth and safely on the road...im very satisfied and glad I'm a client of "Precise Auto Repair "

Reliable and trustworthy (no unnecessary part replacement or so). I changed my engine oil, wiper blade, coolant, front brake pad for a total charge of $350. Fair price i would say.

Does this place need more ratings? Sure, I'll add some.I have been going to PAR for years. I love the level and quality of service they provide and the reasonable rates for said services. I take my Lexus' here for oil changes, AC changes, brakes, you name it. I wholeheartedly trust Tom and his staff to do right by me and to take care of me as he would his own cars. No other place I'd rather go to.

Always great personal fast service. We've been coming here you years.They don't take advantage of you.No up sell. Infact, if you don't need the service or the car is safe without, he'll tell you.We've even brought a car in for an electrical gremlin that he solved for us in the parking lot for no cost.We thought we were going to have to sell that car.He's worked on our gas and hybrid cars.He always gets us with a smile and said about the family before getting down to business.Why can't more mechanics be this caring, honest and trusting

All the high reviews here are right. Simple work, done well and honestly, by people who aren't afraid of hard work and from all I can tell from a few visits here, not out ro RIP anyone off. They evan talked me out of some expensive stuff that would be better deferred. My wife is even okay coming here because there seems to be no difference.Thom really seems like a good fut and the positive reviews are definitely earned.

Great customer service experience. They talk to you about your car, let you know when there is a real problem, and when it's minor or there is a cheaper solution. Honest mechanics, and they do good work - I haven't had to come back for repeat repairs on the same issue ever. Highly recommended.

It's really hard to find a good mechanic so I was happy to stumble upon Precise.My first experience was with Viet, who helped me service my van's broken a/c. Within an hour, I drove out with air again. I don't remember how much it cost ... Just that I was pleasantly surprised. While Viet was very down to business, he was also friendly.Since that time, I've interacted mostly with Tom. Tom has taken good care of my cars. He's great at explaining what the plan is, initially, and later, what they did. If he replaces parts, he typically sets aside the old parts and if he can, he literally shows you why they were defective. That's a level of detail that I rarely see.I've had both small and big services since then. Lately, they replaced my Subaru Outback engine with a rebuild. Because of the boxer-type engine, the common suggestion is to take your Subaru to a Subaru specialist (either the dealer/mechanic or to a specialist mechanic). Well, the only specialist I knew of in my area got pretty meh reviews online ... so I had Tom/Precise do it and now my car feels as good as, if not better than ever!I walked in to their office the other day and overheard somebody saying that they've been with Precise for years and they've moved around the Bay. And while he currently lives in the _San Francisco_, he and his partner still travel all the way down to Santa Clara/Sunnyvale to get their cars serviced at Precise.Now, that's loyalty ... and I can totally understand why.

Came in late morning asking for a brake job front and rear. Later on, they called me and told me the front pads had some life left - I didn't need to replace them quite yet. Price was good - way cheaper than dealership, of course - and communication was great. Thanks!
