My 1997 Saturn SL2 was not passing smog and I had been trying all of the inexpensive fixes. My numbers did get better and the car felt as if it were running better, but my hydrocarbon numbers for the 15 mile and hour test were still 6 points too high. The only thing left was to replace my catalytic converter. I had gone to El Camino Mufflers 6 years ago and had my catalytic converter replaced when my check engine light went on. (This time the light was not on.) He did a great job then, but I had to wait a couple of days for the part. This time when I pulled up he wasn't busy. It was during the day on a week day. He told me that the prices for catalytic converters had gone way up, which I knew, and it would cost a lot more than $200.00 like 6 years ago. Fortunately, he was able to get a catalytic converter that fit my car delivered in about 20 minutes, and in less than an hour he replaced it. He found me a chair to sit on while I waited. It did cost me $695 this time which I had expected. He showed me the old one and it was full of carbon and explained to me that all old cars burn a little oil and carbon builds up in the catalytic converters. He said I would likely need a new one in 2 years the next time I needed it smogged. I took the car back to the smog check place and my car passed with flying colors. I highly recommend this shop.

I had my catalytic converter stolen on my 2006 Honda Accord in 2021. I went to El Camino Muffler for a replacement and the guy working there or the owner gave me two options: one aftermarket catalytic converter and one (OEM). I told him wanted OEM parts, and he went with it. However, yesterday I had the engine light come on, so I took the car to another shop for a check-up. They found that the sensor connecting to the catalytic converter was not working, and I also learned that the catalytic converter was aftermarket, not OEM. This guy can deceive you, so take your vehicle somewhere else. I'll leave it to God (He's the best judge in the world). Stop deceiving people! The price was charged $1500 for the OEM

The best muffler/exhaust system shop I have seen so far in the SF Bay Area, IMHO. Armando may not talk much, but he knows what he is doing, and he is doing it well, with precision and high quality. I can tell by the way he put the exhaust support (did not need any re-adjustment and kept the exhaust very steady throughout the whole process) and I can tell by the quality of his welding seams - he knew very well what size wire, speed and current to use to get that those super clean welds. In and out in less than 15 min, and with great feeling of a job well done. The only regret I have is I have not discovered El Camino Mufflers and Armando much, much earlier :) Thank you Armando and all the best!Service: Exhaust

Amazing work and expertise. After having my factory resonator removed there was too much drone. Armando recommended some aftermarket ones and installed them within an hour. Love the reduced drone but still have the aggressive note under throttle

Armando has the experience and knowledge on any exhaust modifications you want for your vehicle. Try his work out.I've known him for a while and works really good on his part.

Had a muffler put on a old car I owned a year ago, worked and sounded great for the year I had it with the muffler, then I sold the car. He was quick and was able to pick out a muffler that would sound good on a V6 engine. Very reasonable price. Originally I had wanted the resonator off, but it caused too much vibration with it on and he charged a reasonable price to install it back on. His welds are fast and very clean along with the bends. Will come back to get exhaust work done on my other cars

I built my girl a 66' mustang and the only thing she didn't like was the conservative 50's I put underneath. I have a big block ford and she wanted a sound close to it. I called around literally within a 10 mile radius of El Camino and got prices that I thought were outrageous. I stopped in to his shop and he was really nice. Complimented the car ad gave me a very fair deal. Very fair. I've had very fair before with my years building cars and trucks but knew the greasy hand prints and average bead welds I could clean up and the welds we'll never see.. As long As they don't leak of course.I got the car back in a few hours and it was perfect. Not a hand print in or on the car, we paid him and we were on our way. Very professional.Later on that week I jacked the car up and to my surprise, the welds were damn near perfect. He put a adequate amount of supports and there were zero leaks. This dude takes pride in his work an is very good at what he does.I will forever take all my vehicles to him and literally calling him right now to do my 74' blazer. Thanks dude!!

Armando is honest and very experienced at pairing sound and installing exhaust systems of all kinds. True car enthusiast. My dad and I have gotten work done by him for over 10 years; GMC truck, Trans AM WS6, Grand Prix GTP, and Nissan 370z. Great pricing no one can match and quality that you can count on.

guy was very nice. he's a craftsman. hand made a custom axle back exhaust all while I stood there. pretty cool to see it all come together, and the car sounds nasty (awesome). definitely going here for any exhaust needs.

In-N-Out in about 30 minutes. They fixed my muffler when other stores would have charged me for a brand new one. That saved me at least two hundred bucks. Impeccable service, btw.

El Camino is an affordable alternate to these ridiculous dealer service prices. They got my part right away and installed it for less than half the dealer price! You can't beat that for driving another few miles down the road.

Told him my issue had me come in with part that i needed welding on told me 1 hr went to get lunch not even half way thru eating called me hey its ready that was like 30 min and only charged a nominal fee to custom weld me something
