Unfortunately I did not read the reviews before getting a smog check here. They charged me $60 - They did not quote price before the service was done. Smog Check Santa Barbara charges around $35 for the same service to do the smog check and automatically send to the DMV. Felt a little ripped off.

Pedro is very kind and knowledgeable, he keeps it real. Did not charge for things that were not done, only fixed what was needed, did not take advantage of me as I really don t know much about cars. Here s one of the last honest people left in this type of business. I m relieved to know that my car is being cared for by a professional, not some kid with little experience. If you have services performed here, you will be amazed with Pedro!

Great place. Pedro is very nice, professional, and knows what he's doing/talking about and best of all, he's efficient and proficient. Best place to have an oil change or your smog done hands down. Highly recommend giving Pedro your hard earned money rather than one of the bigger chains because you'll get better service, work done you can trust, and a fair price.

I got the smog test. I am from out of State and from online research I of determined a smog test is approximately $34-36 in Santa Barbara. Pedro charged me $60.00. My sincere advice check the cost before you get a smog test at Pedro. I will never go there for any service. Smog test isa State required test. It is a standard test and the cost should be Standard. In WA state it is a fixed price. In my opinion Mr. Pedro sets his own price, does not tell the customer in advance and in my opinion his wife charges are too high. It may also be possible that he has two set of charges; one for locals and one for out of State customers. I feel cheated.

These guys were great!! I'd heard good things and they were all true! Might want to get gas elsewhere though, usually that sinclair is in the middle of the pack price-wise.

Honest, truthful, & a great mechanic. So much more than just getting a smog. Very knowledgeable, definitely recommend bringing almost every car problem here! If he can't fix it, it's time to get rid of it.

The only star certified station that wasn't trying to rip me off with my older vehicle (1991). Fast (done within 25min), simple (watched the process myself), connected directly with the DMV, and it's always a plus supporting businesses that are run by less bureaucracy and more straight forward, down to earth mechanics.Other shops we're asking for $170, or trying to charge me even if the smog check data on their machine didn't go through (what does that mean??). Pedro's guys are good. This will be at the top of my list for smog/auto.

Professional, quick, no appointment needed (at least on weekday), explained the problem, willing to work with me, retested for free. They're awesome, and I will definitely come back.

I needed a smog check and tried this place because it was close to my home AND open on Saturday. I was happily surprised at how polite and efficient they are! They communicate with you throughout the process and do a good, thorough job. I highly reccomend coming here!!!

Twice the price of anywhere in town. RUDE. OBNOXIOUS. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS< INFACT THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANYONE'S BUSINESS. They used to charge around $25 for a smog, but this year it was $80.Note on the owner's response: They failed my smog because the exhaust was "tampered with" even though, the vehicle passed smog at the same station 2 years earlier, and I made no changes to the exhaust during that time. I took it to a different shop to have it fixed, and it passed, without any changes required.

Pedro and his son Pedro are the best mechanics in Santa Barbara. I know Pedro Jr. He's a Don all the way. Great person and easy to work with. I'm thinking of getting Insurance through them too.

They failed my smog because the check engine light was on, he claimed he didn t see the check engine light on after he started the car multiple times. Then insisted I pay the 50 dollars. NOT THE PLACE TO GO TO IN ORDER TO GET A SMOG

I called to get an estimate for repair and he very rudely responded well what the **** do you want me to do and asked me to come in to check it out. Very unprofessional I do not recommend.

I went at the slow time according to Google (Noon to 1pm) and when I got there they said I would be out in 20 minutes and it only took 18 or 19. They were friendly and easy to deal with and the price was good.

Got there and he told me he will back in an hour. Left in a truck and I waited an hour. After waiting fir an hour he came back only to tell me he is busy and cannot work on my car. Will never go there again

Personal is always with long faces all of them they are not nice, I go there because save me time with the renovation of my sticker but to be honest they are not nice

Star certified smog. I came in with my 1997 Jeep. Short waiting period, free pre test and I got my registration with sticker right there. Very convenient.
