I came here a few times, first seemed honest but is obviously not. They tell me I have a 3,400$ repair due to three hoses and a valve and I knew that wasn t right because I could get an engine rebuilt for that.I took the car to a second mechanic, and is charging me 200$ to complete all the work, with parts.This location just lost business due to their dishonest and over priced scams.

Came here since google shows it has great reviews. I walked in and waited 15 for anyone to speak with me even though it was empty. It absolutely stunk in there like someone blew up the toilet and it leaked into the waiting area. Now for the car service, I drive a Subaru and had a few problems with the A/C, needed a new belt, needed new brakes pads, and had a few filters that needed to be replaced. They quoted me an insane price of $900 for just the A/C valve, a belt, 2 filters. Mentioned they wouldn t replace just the brake pads and I needed rotors too. They then mentioned that they don t do regular rotors and break pads that they only did ceramic ones like the factory ones are trash. Said it would be another $900 for the breaks to be done. I ended up just getting the filters done at this place since I thought everything else was too expensive. They then proceeded to charge the A/C even though I told them it had been done already and that wasn t the problem. Would recommend visiting another place before coming to this one.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Steering & suspension repair, Vehicle Inspection

UPDATE APRIL 9, 2024(changed from 5-star)Since first going to Fox Auto Care, this repair shop has changed hands from the original owners (Fox family) to another owner who has since and recently (one year ago) relocated to Texas. The staff has gone through an entire personnel turnover, with none of the original staff (admin, "technicians"/mechanics) remaining.Further, this most recent owner has sold a couple of his shops and intends to sell this Santa Ana Fox Auto Care shop. None of which are positive omens (all new staff, newest owner now living in Texas, selling all shops, etc). All of the aforementioned is reflected in the current staff's customer communications. E.g., on a recent visit, 15 minutes were spent "arguing" about inane, repetitive topic with a person who claimed to be the service writer...JUST to get an appointment and learn the correct transmission fluid to use in my vehicle.Given the current and future status of Fox Auto Care (especially the ridiculous back-and-forth, unproductive "arguing" with the alleged "service writer") I can no longer endorse or recommend Fox Auto Care. A real shame since, even with the new owner (who purchased this shop from the Fox family), the service had still been very good (until the aforementioned recent developments, over the past year). No longer. Tread with caution. At the least sign of the slightest conflict, just walk away.It would be best for AAA of So Cal to drop this repair shop from its list of recommended vehicle repair facilities.ORIGINAL FEEDBACK/"review"(Originally 5-star):Upper block rebuild, F150, 5.4LSince upper block rebuild (re-manufactured heads, i.e. machined, rebuilt) engine seems to be running smoothly...

I went to Fox for the AAA complimentary auto checkup. The owner/manager was nice enough to give me a ride while and after the check up was done, since my job site wasn't too far away. I received the detailed estimates and results of the checkup by email, which I liked. I returned the following week for a maintenance job which only lasted about 45 minutes to an hour. There were always snacks available, which I was welcome to take. Staff and manager were friendly and easy to talk to. It would be great if the property /building manager(s) would have signs that posted business names, since I had trouble finding Fox Auto the first day, even with Siri.

I had my transmission rebuilt there 3 years ago, that came with a warrant of 1 year or 12,000 miles at 13,000 miles on a trip to arizona the transmission blew the seal i was able to tow it home. I co tacted Ken at fox he tild me to bring it in and not to worry. He went to bat for me even though the warra ty was done. Then did and did the maintenance gave. Loaner car and to my surprise when i pickef up my car...it was all free no charge. They are awesome!!! they stand behind their work, and they go above and beyond.

Fantastic treatment of their customers! Super friendly. Went above and beyond to set me up with a rental car while mine was being worked on. A great family-owned, but professional-grade company that definitely surpassed all expectations, given my prior interactions with auto repair companies. This is actually my first time giving ANY company an online rating. Highly recommend!

Fox Auto Care really took the time to fully diagnose my van.They were diligent and thorough making sure they found the problem without making me spend a lot of money on other stuff. Now my van is running Great and I'm feeling real good that I brought it to Fox Auto Care instead of anyplace else. Thanks Fox Auto your team of expert technicians really took great care of me. Jackie, Lisa and Robert were all very nice and professional they made me feel real good that I brought my van to them.

My sister had to be towed here after closing. The staff called her the next morning to ask what the problem was. They took really good care of her telling her what needed immediate repair and nothing unnecessary. Got her car back to her quickly, reasonable priced. And friendly and helpful staff!

Fox does excellent work, has incredible customer service, and communicates in a timely and clear manner. I also can trust them and that's the most important thing with auto care. They recently saved us so much money by helping us realize that we could get the work we needed done for free under warranty at Honda and we saved almost $4,000. We get all our auto repairs done at Fox and have for years. They are the best.

For years I have come to rely on their expertise, honesty and exceptional customer service. Now that I do not have any family around for even some simple assistance, Jackie and the staff are most responsive to all of my requests. They have earned my trust and sincere appreciation for the outstanding service from getting me a ride to work, and the comprehensive maintenance on my car. I sincerely appreciate the service, kindness and respectfulness from everyone at Fox Auto.

I have been taking my cars to Fox Auto for about 12 years. They have provided professional, honest, and quick service every time. Jackie goes above and beyond to help me and give me a reasonable quote. Just a few days ago, she called the insurance company and had some of my costs covered. I appreciate a business that I can trust and does their best.

Our Explorer needed some major work done on its right rear after an accident with the curb. Had the car towed to Fox and they let me know of its arrival. Within a day a detailed list of what was needed was sent to me along with pics. We needed a few days to decide if it was worth repairing such an old car and Fox did not pressure us to make a decision. I think it took five days for us to finally decide to go ahead with most of the recommended the repairs. Fox Auto team took care of it and finished it ahead of schedule. We've been taking our cars to Fox for years and trust them to repair our cars right.Thanks Fox Auto.

Had a rattling noise coming from my engine in my Ford focus, brought it in and they did a phenomenal job identifying the issue and fixing it for a fair price. Now it drives smoother than ever and does not rattle. Thank you all so much. Highly recommend this location for all of your cars needs.

Totally professional and absolutely the best customer service.A full report with pictures of the vehicle is sent before any work is performed. As an older guy who has used many repair shops over the years I assure you that Fox Auto Care is the gold standard when it comes to repairing your vehicle(s). I have referred others to Fox and they are extremely satisfied as well. I guarantee that you will have a good experience at Fox.

I love Fox Auto Care! I had a busted Water Pump & they fixed it within a day. They send you a text message when your car is ready and a whole detailed report inspection of your car. Pictures and information is included in the inspection report. The staff is super friendly and everyone who works there seem to be very helpful. I have dubbed this place my go-to mechanic and they know it! Thank you Fox Auto!! Your Friend, Jane

Today I had my car serviced at Fox. I made the appointment online and they responded quickly to verify my appointment day and time. I made arrangements in advance to get a ride to work, and Jacki ordered Lyft for me, which was very efficient!I wasn't sure exactly what work my car would need, so Jacki communicated with me throughout the day to update me and ask how I wanted to proceed. She also advised me as to what they thought I needed done, and what they thought could wait. They took pictures of the parts they thought needed work, and sent me a link to a site that listed everything they reviewed and what the results were. Super convenient!When my car was ready a Lyft driver was sent to pick me up, and the final bill was exactly what I was quoted. Very pleasant, super efficient and professional. So glad a co-worker referred me to Fox! I'm a lifer! Thank you!

Fox Auto Care is my trusted mechanic for years. Always skilled, reliable, and prompt repairs at very fair prices. They often do even more work than expected at no extra charge. You can't find a more honest, competent mechanic than these guys. They're the best!

The service at Fox is second to none, as is their insistence on doing what is right for the customer. In the years we've been with them, they have talked us out of expensive repairs as they were not in our best interests. We know that what they recommend is absolutely necessary and that we won't be overcharged. We dropped in as a walk-in after catalytic converter theft and Patrick took amazing care of us! They offered a loaner for my daughter for 6 days no questions asked until the repair was done and Jackie called frequently with updates and took care of insurance. So I brought my car in on a tow truck after it overheated and was greeted by Lisa the manager, who walked me thru every step and made me feel comfortable with leaving my car at a very stressful time. Even tho its an extremely busy shop she still managed to make me feel like a priority, and even provided me with a rental car at no cost so I could still get to work! Once the car was inspected she found the time to call me and go over all costs with NO SURPRISES!!! Now im back on the road!! Thank you Lisa for all your help! You and your shop definitely deserve more than 5 stars!!

I had my 2005 mustang GT towed in because the master cylinder on my clutch broke while I was driving, my repair was supposed to be done next day, which is impressive, they had it installed but the part they put in happened to be faulty, which they noticed when testing everything. I cant fault them for taking an extra day to make sure my car works properly, when they still had better timing than other shops with the delay included. These guys are great

I have been going to this place for all my car repair needs and regular oil changes for 5 years now. Most importantly they are honest and guide you about what needs to be done urgently and what can take time. They never try to make money. Plus they are AAA approved shop and I never had any problem with them or the repair. I trust them 100%.

OK, this was the hardest 5 star rating I've ever given, Not because they don't deserve it, but I really don't want everyone to discover these guys and make it impossible to get my trucks serviced on short notice. Truth be known, I love these guys and trust them with all my vehicles so (said extremely begrudgedly) stop by. You will love them too.

As a first year member of AAA Plus, I was surprised to receive a coupon for a "free 40-point inspection". I chose this vendor because the reviews were great. The facility is clean, you even get a photoreport on your phone. BUTThe guys suggested me a maintenance for almost $2000 for my VW Jetta which I didn't need.1) They suggested to replace rotors, a caliper, and pads for $900. When I started asking questions I realized that only front pads need to be replaced. My caliper is in a perfect shape and requires a slight lubrication. My rotors are in a perfect shape as well (VW suggests to replace them at 19mm, but I'm having 21.8 mm now). How did I know that? I doublechecked the brakes myself.2) According to the maintenance spech, I supposed to change a timing belt and a water pump, but that could be done at a 100,000 miles. Anyway, even VW dillership agreed to change for this labour way cheaper.Conclusion? Thank you, Fox Auto Care, for trying to rip me off. I found another store with honest guys that triple checked my breaks for free. They confirmed that the rotors are fine, and my caliper needs lubrication and pads need to be changed. They gave me a reasonable price for their service.When I asked why they didn't charge me for inspection, which took 15 minutes, they said they are for a long run in the automotive business. After those words and honest approach, I want to support their business and will take my car there for as long as I'm living in this area.

I'm always very skeptical of repair shops, however, the customer service and honestness here was great. They were very friendly and nice, told me the issue, and I never felt pressured into beginning the service even though I declined. I will be coming back to them for any auto issues in the future.
