I've been going to Ray's team at R&I for over 20 years, through 5 vehicles, and I have only great things to say about them. They're great to talk to, update in a timely manner, and get the job done. At times, they've gone the extra mile, staying in the shop late on a Friday on one occasion to get me back my car for the weekend.Nothing short of a full recommendation of these guys!

R&I has been our neighborhood go to mechanic on all our cars since they opened on Del Ganado. Scheduling has always been simple and timely. Jason and Louis are both very friendly and take the time to explain everything. We highly recommend them.

Excellent, honest service. I had a nail in my tire -took it to a tire shop that told me it could not be repaired. They were trying to sell me more tires! So I ended up coming to R & I Automotive and they patched it up the same day, and saved me a lot of money! Highly recommend these guys.

Again, I super appreciate the customer service and help I receive at R&I. They helped me with an oil change and some wear and tear repairs since my car is almost at 100,000 miles. They are always very responsive and provide excellent quotes in terms of timing for repair and cost. Will be coming back

Jason and the whole team at R&I are top notch. I stopped going to the dealer and switched to these guys when I needed a big tune up and they saved me a ton of money. They can handle anything, from routine services to major issues; they even handled all the repairs to my car when it was T-boned. And anytime you bring your vehicle in for any reason you receive a link to the details of your inspection and it s super thorough!Jason is so patient in explaining everything and answering questions. And he s excellent at helping you weigh options if money is tight.Although you MIGHT find a cheaper oil change at quick-lube places, you won t get the personalized attention nor attention to detail. I had a last minute issue with air conditioner and was leaving to drive to Montana the next day. They said come on in and fixed it and I was on my way!Not many mechanics who would even take my call. Great service!

I would definitely recommend R& I Automotive based on my very positive experience. Jason was super helpful getting me in to fix my breaks very quickly with a very timely estimate and repair. I had a headlight that needed replacing. I own an old Mitsubishi. Jason put in a lot of time researching how to obtain part. It turned out to be very expensive to replace and so he suggested replacing just bulb for now. I wasn t planning on keeping car much longer so I opted for that great solution. We did and he was very helpful.

On my way out of town and discovered a nail in my tire. After going to two different places who could not fit me in my neighbor recommended R &I. They put on my spare and kept my tire to repair. This was on a Friday so Jason said I would have to wait until Monday. Much to my surprise he called a couple of hours later saying my tire was fixed. I went back and they put the repaired tire back on for a very minimal charge. Definitely will go back and highly recommend them.

Jason from R&I reached out asked me what went wrong and wanted to fix it. I realized that there was some miscommunication from my part and lack of understanding in the way they work. There aren't many companies who reach out to you and work with you to make you feel better and happy. Their customer service is amazing, any questions or concerns that you have, feel free to bring it up to their attention. I am happy with the job they did, and I would recommend them. Got a thermostat replaced as well. All this work was timely mannered, the team really went above and beyond to make this happen on time for our last minute trip. Maybe not the cheapest but local, friendly and service minded. My 2013 Fiat had some electrical issues and deferred maintenance. My experience at R&I automotive was fantastic. Jason was responsive, transparent and educated me along the way. I was on a budget and Jason worked with me to let me know what items could wait a few months and what should be taken care of immediately. All the car problems were solved for exactly the amount of what the quote stated. Really liked the fact that he was able to text/email me the quote with all the details before determining what immediate work I needed done. Highly recommend!

I brought my 2013 Hyundai Sonata in for a rattle in the steering column which at least according to online forums is a known issue for the car. R & I took it for a test drive and definitely heard the noise and then did the research to note there was a service bulletin for the exact issue. They obtained the part, dismantled my steering column and made the repair. They were knowledgeable about my car and performed the service as promised. They are expensive, but that might be normal San Rafael pricing as I just moved to the area. I will definitely use them again. I had no interest in leaving a review until R&I sent me text prompting me to do so.. so here it is!I dropped my truck off to have a diagnostic for a circuit code P0201which was a concern that I didn t have time to diagnose myself due to my tags were about to expire.Upon their diagnosis it was noted that my PCM was faulty and that they attempted to fix my repair at my Mass Air Meter. I responded by saying there was never a repair and that I recently replaced my Mass Air Sensor and there was no damage to the harness.Being that my focus was primarily on the damaged PCM I dismissed the issue with the damaged wire harness.After arriving home I decided to take a look at the damaged wire harness. To my surprise there was a broken wire with a butt connector that is commonly use for car audio crimped to one side of wire then taped to my intake. An effortless attempt at fixing my wire harness that they damaged.If it was my customer I would have treated it like my personal vehicle in fixed properly being that I was responsible for the damages by at minimum soldering the joint or replacing the section of wiring harness that I had damaged but instead, they defaulted by lying straight to my face saying that the harness was already damaged.It s kind of ironic that the same place they were testing my wires there was a broken wire.The bottom lines is these people can t be trusted. At this point I m going to have do a pinpoint test to confirm it is in fact that the PCM is damaged once I fix the wire harness.300.00 + 60.00 in Uber rides was an expensive lesson. Never will I pay a shop to work on my vehicle again.

I was in a pinch with a flat tire. They interrupted their work, fixed my spare tire and I was on time at the place I needed to be. Later they had fixed the two holes and all was done to a impressively low fee. We have gone to this garage for many years and have been always happy with the service.Service: TiresService: Tires

Fair pricing & excellent service.This was the third quote I d gotten on a service, because road trip. They matched the lowest rural quote for replacing a cracked exhaust pipe. Jason recommended a detailed inspection after glancing closer for 5 minutes for free and deciding that wasn t an issue Their senior mechanic drove me home when I dropped off the car and the inspection saved me thousands in repairs, worth more than the car. The owner was at the front desk my final day there and gave me the unfortunate recommendation that I sell or donate the car, and I m doing that.Thank you to the whole team for your commitment to excellence in service, attitude, and hospitality.P.S. when I drove up I was concerned pricing would be high due to location. It wasn t an issue. I don t know how they do it. I would have been ok with a slightly higher quote due to location even
