After purchasing my beloved Subaru Legacy Spec B in downtown Oakland some years ago, I moved to San Rafael and soon discovered that not all Subaru service departments and dealers offer polite and competent customer service. Marin Subaru has been consistently rude and unhelpful, both to me and my husband. We have managed by going to other dealers further away when I need service. It is worth the extra distance not to interact with rude employees. If google reviews offered the option of no stars, that is what I would choose.

Phenomenal service. Fast, organized, and nice people too. The turnaround was quick on what ended up being a warranty repair. Mario kept me informed, and I received a good loaner. I even learned a couple of local trout fishing spots from Christian! Great shop.

My experience at Marin Subaru has always been outstanding! They are always able to fit me in for an appointment and get the work done quickly and professionally., They friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. Kudos to Mario, my service advisor with whom I have worked for years. I don t know what I would do without him.

I have to say I had a great experience today at Marin Subaru. Everyone was helpful and kind. Victoria and George were terrific. But most of all Bruno Rodrigues was particularly outstanding. Bruno took care of me when I arrived for my appointment for service. I explained to him a couple of items that needed some attention. When I got a call, my car was ready I stopped by to pick it up and Bruno was extremely busy. Victoria took the time to complete my service and send me on my way, she was great too. What I was really impressed with was that I got a call from Bruno after I left with a follow up on all the little details that I had spoken to him about first thing in the morning. I ll be returning next week to complete my service. He told me all the things that would be followed up on. He didn t miss one item that I mentioned, including the light on the driver side visor that needed replacing but he didn t have the part. It ll be fixed next week. Got to say I will look forward to my next visit thank you.

I have always had a great experience at Marin Subaru, until my most recent visit with Victoria Marie. She did not take me seriously and did not represent a clear understanding of my vehicle and my requests and questions regarding the service. She gave me limited guidance on the purpose of work done on my vehicle and upon checkout was not able to accurately clarify why specific actions were done. I love my Subaru and hope to get better service in the future.

Had a great experience with John at Marin Subaru. I came in with a couple of concerns-- he asked clarifying questions and gave troubleshooting advice for my one concern (it worked), and when my other concern turned out to only be a missing bolt they replaced it, no charge, and sent me on my way! Great service and attentive staff. Many thanks!

Bruno's customer service is excellent. He explained each step of the process and answered all of my questions thoughtfully. If he didn't know the answer, he found out and got back to me without delay. This was far (far) superior to my last experience which made me reluctant to return as a customer. I brought my car in to the Subaru Dealership in San Rafael because there was a recall that needed to be addressed. I dealt with Bruno who was very nice and helpful and answered certain questions I had regarding my car. They were VERY BUSY and I thought I would have to leave my car there all day. I mentioned to Bruno that if at all possible, I would like to pick it up before the end of the day. I brought it in at 8:a.m.and by 11:30 I was able to pick it up. The recall was taken care of and the oil was also changed. Bruno was very polite and helpful.

Edit: I responded to the comment on this review and was contacted by someone at Marin Subaru. After talking they agreed to issue a refund. I appreciate the refund however it took leaving a negative review after I went through the formal complaint process. Subaru of America was very helpful with my original complaint and encouraged me to leave the negative review given my experience at Marin SubaruPoor communication, Inconsistent information about my vehicle, and Inaccurate with determining what was actually wrong with my vehicle.Worst service experience I ve ever had a Subaru dealer. I travel extensively for work and often take my car to dealers when I m away from my home garage. I know it s more expensive but I rely heavily on my car so I want quality service. I still love Subaru but will never ever be going back to this dealer.I paid a $235 diagnostic fee only to find out later they put in minimal effort to see what was wrong. They gave me a $4000 repair quote which was inconsistent and turns out inaccurate. I came in because my dash light indicated a malfunction with the tire pressure monitoring system. Per the documentation they gave me they got no code and my service advisor admitted the tech did not even get the light to come on when they drove it. Instead of looking any further they just blanket recommended 4 new tire pressure sensors. This was in addition to replacing all four rims and tires because I had two bent rims.Overwhelmed by the quote amount and a nagging feeling that everything didn t match up I took my car to an independent garage for a second opinion. They were able to tell me within 20 minutes that the tire pressure sensors were damaged by the bent rims. They fixed both in an afternoon for less than a quarter of the cost I was quoted at Subaru.I came in for an issue with my tire pressure monitoring system and they didn t even look at the sensors!! What did I pay a diagnostic fee for?!I pursued getting a refund but was told the dealer refused. There was more that was frustrating than I can fit in one review. I recommend taking your car anywhere else.

After a previous negative experience with an employee lying to me about warranty coverage I was hesitant to return to Marin Subaru. A recalled part brought me back and i added a routine service out of convenience. Thankfully, I met Bruno this time around and my whole perspective changed! Bruno understands what the customer needs and reacts accordingly. He is honest, empathetic and service oriented. Wait for Bruno if you have the choice!

It was an expensive repair, axle and brake pads, over $3000 of work. The loaner car was a very nice 2024 Crosstrek. They allowed me to keep the loaner 24 hrs which was convenient for me coming in to pick up my car.The problems started when I went to pick up my car. I called Mario to let him know I was coming when I was in my driveway; I got an immediate rushed this is Mario, can you please hold which did not allow me to answer. I was still on hold when I drove into the service area and showed Mario my phone. He said another customer had come in and he got distracted and forgot me and continued with that customer while I waited another five minutes. After that I paid and my car was brought out. In the past Marin Subaru has done a quick window wash, wipe down of dash and occasionally vacuumed. This time, although they had the car 24 hours and I had spent a LOT of money, there was nothing done to my vehicle.The whole experience did NOT make me feel like a valued customer of Marin Subaru, although I have brought my car there for every servicing since i bought it in 2015.

From the moment I arrived with concern that my "check engine" light was on to the next day when I picked up my car, my experience was top level. Mario, the very courteous and capable service representative, diagnosed the issue, provided me a loaner car and assured me my car would be ready for pick up the next day. I highly recommend Marin Subaru (especially Mario) for all your Subaru service needs.

Always pleased with the service. They are thorough and fast! Great customer service, great customer lobby with fast internet and coffee. This last visit there was fresh fruit to snack on not just vending machine junk. Very pleased all around.

I ve been coming here since 2017 and Mario has always been such an outstanding person to work with. If I could leave 10 stars I would. Subaru of Marin, please keep taking great care of your employees because when they are happy, the customers are happy. The service reps work so hard to make sure I m satisfied and it shows!

I moved to San Rafael in May of 2023. This is my second service here at Marin Subaru. Though I have to say it s a bit off putting not being able to actually speak with someone on their phone, Victoria took very good care of me. She s helped me both times here. She s to the point, she s about customer service, she s about getting on me to get my 90k service done! lol as long as I m here in Marin I ll come back to this dealership. It s small but the customer service I ve received from Victoria is what will continued to bring me back. Thank you Victoria!

The maintenance of my Subaru was flawless. Bruno checked my car in as soon as I arrived and the work was done in a reasonable time span. The items of the invoice were explained thoroughly as well as planned repair of the right side mirror (which I will have done soon) Bruno was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly.

Overall, I always have a great experience getting my Forester serviced at Marin Subaru. They are knowledgeable and always up for answering my questions and/or explaining in more detail on what is being done with my car. I did have to wait 20 minutes from my original appointment time to check in, which was not ideal. Also, would be nice if they offered 10% discount for people who buy their Subaru directly from the dealership next door, since we have now purchased a Forester and Crosstrek. That said, I'll continue to take our car here for regular service since I trust the certified dealership technicians the most.Service: Oil change

The shop was clean, dog friendly and the people were very friendly. I called and made an appointment there wasn't a two week wait I was able to get in when I needed to. I was very satisfied with my visit. Thanks for the help. Update: Same experience with my 2nd service visit. I appreciate the attentiveness that I received from Bruno. Was a very satisfied customer in the past but since I'm being asked to review my most recent visit I guess I'll say I'm not too happy...Brought car in to have oil changed and tires inspected for leak and rotated. After paying $600(!), tires didn't get rotated, tire pressure sensor is no longer working properly and I was charged excessively for a new battery I had no evidence for needing but approved without realizing the cost of $350 being quoted was for the battery alone and not all work being done. 200+150 labor for a battery?!
