3/20/2024 update: The Manager, Issa, upon reading my initial scathing review had the courtesy to contact me and inform me that he was very concerned with the review and caught off guard in regards to my purchase experience. Issa felt that it didn t meet his standards and expectations for what a proper buying experience should be, especially with pre owned vehicle. He personally saw to it that his parts and service team ordered the exact parts that were damaged by Marin Speed Shop. I m proud to say that the parts have come in, match, and restored the motorcycle to the condition it should ve been when I originally purchased back in late 2022. I do highly recommend Marin Speed Shop/Hattar Motorsports also based on their honesty and accountability. Perhaps one day I will pick up a future Ducati or Triumph motorcycle next time I m in the area. I also recommend that if there are ANY issues in regards to sales or service that cannot be resolved with non management staff, take it up with Issa and he ll see to it everything gets sorted.Original review:Horrible customer service follow through! I purchased a pre owned 2020 Ninja 1000SX from them November 2022. The salesman disclosed to me that their service technician crashed the bike during a test ride after prepping it for sale. I understood that the left side fairings were rashed with road damage and that they ordered a replacement for said damaged piece. I was okay proceeding with the purchase as their contract was that they owed me a new left side fairing. I have tried following through, when time permitted, to see if my replacement fairing had arrived so they can fix what Marin Speed Shop had damaged. I kept getting the run around that it was back ordered and will call when it arrives. Well guess what?!!! It s been 14 months and it still hasn t arrived!!! I m beyond pissed! I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING A VEHICLE OR DOING ANY FUTURE PURCHASES FROM THEM! They only care about selling their high end new Ducatis and Triumphs and will leave anybody who spends less than $30000 out to dry!!!

Alex and the team are awesome! We came in early as we live far away but there were no issues getting to talk to him early. Never felt pressured at all during our visit and I was able to secure my first ride. I highly recommend them for the chill laid back feel and the aesthetic of this shop. Plus it's in a great location if you want to check out the area. Great job guys keep it up!

Booked in Triumph Tiger 1050 for oil change, check over and new tyres as a half way check over from North Carolina and back. Great staff, service and updates. Good job guys.

This dealership is one of the best I have been to while in search of my perfect bike over the last 7 years. Every person I interacted with was helpful, encouraging, supportive, and friendly.They spent so much time going over various bike options and riding gear with me - they even took me out on a personal test ride and offered me gear they were no longer using! I have never had such a quality experience at a dealership before. As a tiny queer woman, I am especially thankful for how I was included and most specifically, not condescended to in any way. I will recommend my friends to this dealership in the future and will be coming back just to hang out with them again.Highly recommend this team and dealership.

Great shop. Great selection of new and used. Never felt rushed or pushed into buying anything. Bryan was great and honest. Stayed late and went out of his way to make sure I was taken care of. Charley was also great on the finance side and was able to clear up a small issue without any problem at all.All the fear of going to a Ducati dealer went out the window within minutes. I recommended them to my neighbor and he went a purchased a bike also. First time rider and is very happy with his purchase.

I drove 5 hours to pick up my Vespa and it was worth it! Not only do they carry bikes not found at most places, but their service was stellar. They showed me the features on my bike, went over basic safety, and were very kind and helpful throughout the process of purchasing my bike. Thanks again!

Like this shop because they always have some events to let motorcyclists to enjoy. Today, I went here for Dave Moss adjust my Scrambler s suspension. Then, I ordered some Scrambler s accessories as well as took a landmark photo for my bike. Staffs here are friendly and helpful, it would be great if this shop could have a coffee corner for any motorcyclists stop by, enjoy a cup of coffee, relax and talk about stories with their motorcycles.

High-quality people, bikes, and service. Triumph headquarters! The same can be said for the Ducati. Prolly the best used motorcycle selection I've ever seen in one location. Hondas to Harleys and everything in between. I'm so glad to have found them. Would recommend checking there before going anywhere else.

I was looking for a cute little grocery getter for when I don t want to take out my Indian and found the Vespa Primavera Pic Nic 150 here. The service was amazing and professional. Alex made sure that it was Seamless from start to delivery. I highly recommend Marin Speed Shop, first class all the way.

I had to give these guys a five star, I went in completely nervous about my son buying a motorbike. They were very, helpful and they were very informative. They did not try and take an advantage of him as a new rider, they suggested that he stay with a bike that didn t have too much power, they suggested the courses and the right equipment He ended up with a bike in a color that I love, since you can see it coming a mile awayI strongly recommend them..

I came to Marin Speed shop last year looking for a new motorcycle. Working with Bryan, I have decided to get a Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro. Unfortunately, I regretted it for seven months. I was not too fond of the bike, did not enjoy it, and overall it was a terrible experience owning the bike. This past weekend I went there for my 6K oil change.That moment I saw this tuned-up Ducati Multistrada Enduro - I instantly fell in love with it.Bryan and Issa helped me to be a happy rider again. I took the Multistrada for a long test ride. I made sure it fits me, and I could not be happier.I traded in the triumph instantly and could not care less to see it again.Bryan and Issa made the process super easy, and I could not be happier.Thank you, Marin Speed Shop - Bryan, Issa

After 3 Yamahas, five Hondas and a Kawasaki, I thought the Triumph 900 GT Pro seemed to meet my riding needs. I walked in with lots of questions, ably answered by Brian and walked out with this gorgeous black 900 GT Pro. For years I've watched Triumph do what Harley should have done when they were flush with cash, to expand what was a very limited offering into a full line of first rate machines. Everything was above board and they gave me a fair price for my trade in. I did contact other Bay Area Triumph dealers, but none were as cooperative as Marin Speed Shop. The selection of bikes is extraordinary and if you're looking for a low-mileage 8th Gen VFR, they took mine on trade. It's always been garaged and will give someone years of great riding. I traded it only because it does not make a practical commuter. Thanks to Brian and the Speed Shop staff!

Recently traded in my motorcycle and purchased a used motorcycle from MARIN Speed Shop. It was a great experience. Shout out to Alex. He was great to deal with. We discussed my expectations regarding my trade in and the motorcycle I was interested in over the phone. I was able to come to the shop and demo the motorcycle while my trade-in was being inspected. We finalized a deal I was comfortable with there after. Zero pressure. This is how it's supposed to be. Thanks Alex.

Came to Marin Speed Shop to see a gorgeous used Ducati 749 from their fleet. Everyone was kind and welcoming, ended up purchasing the bike. I was expecting to sell my current Kawasaki Ninja on my own, but I ended up happily settled on a fair trade in deal. Nice! Now the real frosting is that I had some questions regarding the bike after purchase and MSS got it checked out and covered everything. Real heart and integrity with this team.

After selling my last bike in 1996 to pay rent (the TL;DR of a long-a$$ story), I'd been wanting to get another motorcycle, but kids, helping to run a theatre, and a teaching career kept distracting me.After deciding that I really wanted a Triumph, I looked at dealerships in the area, and Marin Speed Shop happened to be closest to my home, so around July 2022 I popped in to see what the place was like, and I was really taken with the positive, friendly, and chill vibe of the place. I talked to Bryan, he asked me questions about my motorcycling history, what I'm feeling my current direction is, and had me sit on a couple biked to get a feel of them. This was super relaxed, conversational and no pressure at all on me...as much as I wanted to engage, Bryan (and another gentleman whose name I've spaced on) matched me, and even though I was apologetic about not being there to purchase -- just to check the place out, they were SUPER nice, helpful, welcoming, etc.Fast forward to just the other day; I check out the Marin Speed Shop website because....why not?....and I notice what I read as a three months no payments or interest promotion going on, so I head over to get a vague idea if that can work out for me. Bryan remembered me, answered my questions, we look at a bike that I end up really digging, and a few hours later my wife and I came back to sign paperwork.Bryan and the rest of the Marin Speed Shop team were great at not only explaining the amazeballs deal (which was better than what I came in for), but everyone was incredibly kind and patient with our fumbling through the process.It's kinda crazy to feel "at home" in a vehicle dealership, but -- somehow -- the team at Marin Speed Shop have created a place where returnees to motorcycling as well as active riders can feel incredibly comfortable and welcome.Thank you Bryan, and everyone else (Lucy too!) for the absolute best vehicle purchase experience I've had yet, and I absolutely LOVE my graphite and black 2022 Triumph Tiger Sport 660!!

Went in shopping for a new bike. After discussing details, we settled on a bike. I was pretty sure I wanted that model, as the features and ergonomics agreed with me and my endless hours of research and product comparison, so I arranged for a test ride on a previous (but fairly similar) generation to make sure the character of the motor was what I was looking for.I insisted on working numbers before I test rode, as I don't want to be distracted with playing the dealership price roulette while I was on a test ride. I asked for the PRICE repeatedly, yet I was pushed to do a test ride while they "worked up" the numbers.I'm led outside to the previous generation bike, which was a used model they had for sale. Sales guy starts it up and is blabbering about how awesome it is. One look at the front tire and I shut the bike off. They were going to send me out to test a bike with a cupping, bald, dry-rot front tire on the front of a 140hp motorcycle. The rubber was so hard I could not even depress my finger nail into it. Obviously, this isn't a new bike and used tires are expected, but these were very bad and in reality pretty dangerous to be running. I'm sure they'd have no problem selling this to someone if they're going to send a potential new customer out on it. Mind you, they had replaced the rear tire, because it probably got traded in with cords showing. But nobody looks at the front tire, right?!Well, the fun continues. After going back inside and saying "Well I'm not going to ride that, that tire is horrible, let's see the price." Salesman sits me down and gives me LITERALLY the MSRP + freight + setup + tax + title, all at a LOW 9.9%!! I started laughing at the guy, and he said "What? Well that's just a starting point."What happened to getting me the "PRICE" ?Well, thanks for wasting my time guys, now I'll waste yours. I'm sure they're going to keep selling clapped out used bikes to rich San Rafael/Marin county know-nothings, but hopefully shrewd bikers or customers head else where to get ripped off.

I d say the team at Marin Speed Shop are top notch. I worked with Jesse on the purchase of my bike and he was great, very helpful and wanted to make the deal happen. The rest of the team were great too, easy to work with and courteous. I travelled some distance because they had the bike I was looking for and they made it worth the trip, great selection of new and used bikes as well. I recommend them ! Randy C.

Great shop!! I came in last night and bought a new Trident 660. Alex was awesome, he was super knowledgeable and went over everything about the bike while we waited on paperwork. Great atmosphere with cool people that make you feel welcomed.

Original review was sales; update for service. Both earn 5 stars.My annual service was done while I waited -- much easier to make the 30 minute ride up from San Francisco, grab some lunch, use their WiFi, and then return to the city. Great alternative to leaving the bike at a different shop for a couple / few days turnaround.I've come to them off and on for ~10 years for parts, service, and sales on 2 different Triumphs. Consistent, solid customer service.

Such a great experience from start to finish.It started first with a simple look on the website to see if they have a Bobber Goldline in stock. Unlike a shop much closer to me Marin actually answered the phone! I talked with Jesse who let me know they had one in stock. Super awesome dude highly recommend asking for him.I found time to go up and see the bike. I live in Santa Clara and the ride up is about 1hr 45. So not short. From the moment I got to Marin it was an awesome experience. Felt like I was talking to real people who weren t just trying to sell some stuff but actual motorcyclist who love bikes.That day I decided yup I want this motorcycle. From this point I was ready to have to deal with the annoying hours of paperwork financing etc. Nope! It took almost no time at all. They worked with my credit union I got a call my CU said everything is good enjoy and done. Like I can t describe to you all how damn easy it was!What makes a good shop are the people. Without good people and a good shop vibe I personally won t buy from you. Marin is top tier. Like I could easily have went to the dealer literally in my back yard but they did not leave a great first impression.If your looking for a new Triumph or Ducati or even looking used do yourself a favor and check them out. I ve owned many MANY motorcycles and I can tell you I will always go to Marin first now. Customer Service is everything and this shop has that and then some.Plus you meet some cool riders and since the shop vibes are great it seems like everyone is just having a good time and excited to be around motorcycles.

This is the best Triumph dealer in the Bay (and I visited them all). The showroom is cool. They have a good range of bikes and depth of range (3 colours available in the bike I wanted whereas all other dealers had max 1). And best of all is all the staff are friendly, helpful and willing to work with you on your terms rather than forcing their own sales agenda on you. I bought my bike from Stephen - top guy.

Had an amazing experience buying my new bike! Picked up a Royal Enfield and couldn't be happier! Bryan was helping us out. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions and shared his experience with bikes he's owned. The entire staff was a pleasure to work with! Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a new bike.

Had a very pleasant time dealing with they guys at the shop. When picking out the bike Bryan was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Picked out a bike that was suitable for me, something that I could get use to and something that I could ride for a long time. When it came down the the financing part, Charlie was very helpfully with getting the best deal for me. He explained everything about the deal in detail. I will definitely be going back to Marin Speed Shop when it is time for an upgrade.

My husband and I came in to check out the great inventory of new and used bikes. We had a great overall experience with no pressure and got a great deal on our new Triumph Speed Twin. Both Issa and Bryan were very helpful, personable and professional. It was worth the 2 hour drive, we found just what we were looking for!
