Amazing service! I was looking at a $2200 repair bill on our Highlander at Toyota San Rafael Service and decided to get a second opinion. Armand asked if I had an hour to wait while they diagnosed the issue (which I did). In fifteen minutes they had sussed out the problem and got the repair completed 30 minutes later. They were able to do what the Toyota mechanics completely missed and it didn't require new replacement parts and extensive labour costs. In the end they saved us $2000 of unnecessary repair costs. Their team was professional and friendly. They also mentioned that the brake pads were due for replacement in about 2000 miles. I am proud to say that I am now their newest customer. I will be bringing our Highlander in for all future service and repair needs. Also, they work on MINIs, which will make my wife very happy as well.

Wonderful experience today at House of Brakes. Sonia was kind, courtesy and outgoing. She quoted a better price than i had received elsewhere for rear brake pad and rotor replacement. She had the technician check the other tires not needing replacement to ensure I received accurate information.I also needed tires so went to a local shop while I waited. Although they found a great deal on run flat tires, Sonia recommended I go see Nick at Cains Tire, who was able to quote me a better price!!!Although I didn t want to part with $$$, I found today s experience with HofB and Sonia to be rewarding and money saving. Please give them a call for your automotive needs!

I've been with House of Brakes for 10+ years now and they are one of my absolute favorite group of people to work with. I've serviced our vehicles at House of Brakes several times now over the past five or so years. This automotive shop was recommended by a customer of ours (thanks, Sebia!) Armand Dahan and his family have always been thorough, fair, honest and extremely detailed in their explanations of both the work that should be done as well as the work that was done at the end of the project. They call regularly with updates on findings and questions about what I'd like to do. I really appreciate this family-owned and operated business. They're in a great new location near Best Buy in San Rafael. The shop is super-clean and the people are courteous, friendly, knowledgable and efficient. Super friendly to work with, they are not my go to as I already go to another mechanic who I love but is generally really busy. So I gave these guys a chance and they did not disappoint. Will go back to them if I need them in the future!

I have never been more pleased! They are the MOST kind people. I was over-quoted from the dealership and went to HOB for a second opinion. Not only did they save me over a thousand dollars but they were able to get my car serviced quick. I never felt at all like I was being taken advantage of. They explained everything I needed done clearly and effectively. I can not recommend them enough! I will only be coming here for service from now on.Services: Brakes, Oil change

My brother-in-law who owns Steve's Auto Care in Novato recommended House of Brakes and I couldn't have been more pleased with everything. The owners are wonderful people, the price was great (on a 2001 Jaguar!) and he got me in the same morning I called and fixed them the SAME DAY! I would not go anywhere else and they also do other services. The car is running great and it feels good to know I got great service, a great price and gave the business to great people that have been in San Rafael for something like 40 years.Service: Brakes

They were recommended by Caine's Tires and highly recommend them. I no longer go to Toyota and get all my care servicing with House of Brakes. They are reasonable, honest and thorough. Excellent customer service. Totally happy customer! Dana Perez

They did good work, communicative throughout the day via text message which is just nice. They sent photos of the work being done and explained all that was going on.They replaced rear brakes in a day and I have to say they were super busy when I dropped it off so I'm glad they got it done so fast.The only thing I'll say is my initial quote was $360 if the rotors could be refinished or $680 if they needed to replace the rotors. Which was fine I expected they'd have to replace. But then at the end of the day the final price came out to $879 which while it might be resonable compared to the dealer doing it, is still a fair amount higher than the top end quote from the shop. I'd just suggest giving worse case scenario quotes to help people make a better decision.

This is absolutely one of the best auto repair shops that I've ever utilized. The owners are friendly and very knowledgeable. Their prices are very fair.House of Brakes offers just more than brake services for your vehicle. They are a full auto shop.I've utilized them to check on fun "check-engine" lights and other maintenance items. I trust them to offer services that I actually need instead of being sold maintenance packages from the dealership service shops.

I came in from out of town to get the under carriage of my car checked out before hitting the road again. This place was great! They fixed it and while I was there I got an oil change as well. They were honest about my car still having 5% brake lining left. I was sure I was already hearing metal on metal, but they charged only for what was needed. Very friendly and emailed me back within the hour to make an appointment for the following day. Awesome!

Huge help! Sonia, Armand, and the mechanic were on top of the ball and able to squeeze me in before the end of the day. Resurfacing the rotors of my car eliminated a high speed break wobble. Thank you!
