This is my first visit to DNA as I had a troubleshooting issue that made me crazy. As a mechanic myself, I know that giving customers quality work and peace of mind is important. Long story short, they got to the cause, which I had suspected at one point. They got my truck up and running all the while keeping me in the loop with what was going on. It impressed me that they even sent me pics of what their initial inspection found. And took the time to basically "talk shop" about what was going on with the truck. They did a great job, highly professional, and I wouldn't hesitate to bring any vehicle to them in the future. Thanks again!

I cannot express enough how incredible Marco and DNA automotive is. Marco has spent over an hour total with me on the phone just genuinely wanting me understand everything that is going on. His knowledge and experience with over 20 years in the industry is so impressive. I trust Marco with any vehicle and so should you!! Leo has also been amazing, doing his very best to fit us in on a very packed Saturday.

We completely lost two wonderful cars within 7 days (first a car-jacking of our Prius, and then our son wrapped my favorite car around a pole)! This repair shop was incredibly patient with us! We are elderly, and Will the owner of DNA was extremely supportive in every way throughout our trauma. We highly recommend DNA Automotive in San Rafael!

Great communication. Very attentive. I can't say that I've never had an issue since I've been coming here quite a bit but I will say this; In every instance the issue was resolved in a very friendly amicable and responsible way.

Marco and Leo were the best. Had to take care of my kids car from another state and I didnt have to worry about anything with their video inspection and up front estimate. Ended up not needing a new alternator so it allowed for more to invest in aome new brakes and tires. Peice of mind, great/quick service and reasonable pricing. Highly recommend

So far, all is good. But, this was my experience having my 2019 Subaru serviced at DNA. Since this is only a first "date," I don't have enough knowledge to give them 5-stars yet. If future car services and/or repairs go as well, then they will definitely rate a full 5 stars.March 2024 - this is an update to the first review. All is well. DNA was exceptional - friendly professional service - for a reasonable price. Since the first "engagement", for regular maintenance, they have replaced my tires, and have performed my car's second DNA maintenance service. DNA deserves the 5-star rating. BTW, they keep a clean and comfortable waiting room, which is important for those prefer to wait for their cars.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Had 2 of our cars serviced here today and they did a great job. Leo helped us and they got things done quickly and I never felt like they were upselling us anything. Very reasonable pricing too. I took my 2013 Honda fit for an inspection and repair at DNA automotive over the weekend after the car started shuddering. I had done some YT research and had a good sense that one of my cylinders were not firing. Marco was so kind and did not make me feel like a fool when describing the issue and my initial thoughts. They did an inspection and gave me thorough rundown of what they found, taking the time to build on my own knowledge. My car was fixed and is back on the road within 48 hours without repairs breaking the bank. I highly recommend you take your car to DNA automotive. While the fix was quick and effective, the part I most appreciate is that they took the time to add to my education on how combustion engines work.

I've been bringing my Toyota Prius to DNA Automotive for several years now. I wish there was a shop I trusted closer to our home in Berkeley, but these guys are worth the trip across the bridge. Probably the most helpful, honest and friendly team of mechanics I've experienced. In the horror of being in an auto accident, DNA and Will Banuelos is a breath of fresh air. He did a professional job, quickly. He kept in touch and even helped me get a rental car. We arrived at this garage with the towing truck as our car broke down with red signals not far from there, we couldn t have wished to end up in a better place! They were really fast in understanding what was wrong with our car, explained everything very well to us so we could understand our situation to its full extent. To top it off, they were really nice with us while we were waiting! I recommend this place!

First time going to DNA from a referral by another auto repair who could not replace the radiator in my 2004 Acura RSX. They are welcoming, and so very nice. From the phone conversation to the actual meeting, everything ran smoothly. I am very impressed with this shop and will continue to get my car serviced at DNA.

I was introduced to DNA by my brother-in-law, who works on his own car and races at Sears Point. I knew that if he would vouch for them that they would be excellent, and they have been.For several years now I have entrusted the care of my Lexus to the professionals at DNA, and I continue to recommend them to friends and family. I appreciate always having the work explained to me - what's going on with the car and my different available options. They never push work on me that I don't need and I have come to trust them a great deal. I still consider their recommendations before giving my approval, but for years now I have not gone against what they recommend, and the result is that my car runs perfectly and the cost of upkeep is always fair. Most people have had a bad experience at one time or another with mechanics, as it's hard to know what must be done when you're not a car person, and some people in this profession take advantage of that. DNA is the total opposite: they tell me when I can wait to replace my brakes, they look long and hard for the best price on replacement parts, and always greet me with a smile. I'm glad to say that I my search for a great shop is over. DNA can fix anything, I'm convinced, and always on time and at the right price. The radiator hoses busted in my car and all my coolant leaked out and my radiator needed replacing. But, to make sure my engine was still OK, DNA also did a full engine test. Thank goodness it was OK! They had to order parts, but it was fixed even before they said it would be completed (2 days ahead of time). DNA were open on Saturday, quick to respond. My headlights had gone out. After swapping bulbs and checking fuse, they said to come back during the week for a more extensive diagnostic. Their speacialist was not in on the weekend. When I returned on Tuesday they were able to determine the root cause and fixed it in a couple of hours. They did not bill for Saturday's work, and the bill for Tuesday's diagnostic and repair was extremely reasonable.Leo is friendly and the team is conscientious. Overall I feel they provided excellent service and I'll be taking my car there in the future.Services: Electrical repair, Electrical

Year after year DNA keeps.proving how they're so GREAT. They are!!! I needed an "official" mileage document for the stupid Allstate ESURANCE who unilaterally decided that I drive 1200% more than I actually do so theydoubled my insurance premium.When AllState learns what DNA practices---customer service----they will do far better. LOVE DNA. They really are the model business..

Jose was a great help to me while shopping for a used car. He performed a thorough pre-purchase inspection and worked with the nearby dealer to get the car to his shop and back. Love this place! Antonio is professional, friendly, and his crew do great work at fair prices! I ve saved hundreds of dollars going here instead of the Nissan dealership and I regret nothing.Edit:After being serviced another time, they checked in with me less than 24hours following my appointment. There was a sound coming from the front that was concerning but I didn t have time to get back to the shop so I went to one closer to home. I let Antonio know and he was SO PROFESSIONAL and took full responsibility, even though he wasn t the one who did the work. They called the shop by my house and took care of the problem for me. Such honestly and integrity! Most people will claim well that doesn t sound like we did that! This is a great business!

They had an appointment for me right away and it was easy to check in drop off my vehicle with a big parking lot next door. Antonio was my mechanic and he was great, he would text and call me to give me updates and everything was very transparent and straightforward.
