Outstanding customer service at this Wheel Works location unlike the one in Belmont. Just wanted to shout out to Toni for helping me getting a new set of tires in one afternoon without an appointment. She told me that She only has two tires that I needed at this location. She tracked down two from other store. I got my car back with new set of tires in less than 3 hours. Kudo to Toni and outstanding crews at South San Mateo Wheel Works. Keep up the great work

The entire experience was made pleasant by the garage crew, but especially Toni at the front counter. Although the shop was extremely busy, she took the time to interact with each customer in a professional and friendly manner. Toni should be commended for her straightforward and caring attitude. Because of this, all my future business will be with this location. Well done!

Made an appointment a week in advance with exact details of my car model and what service I needed done. I show up to the appointment 10 minutes early and wait for 15 until the shop opens. The woman working the front counter was rude and said "I don't know how you expect us to be able to do this today, you will need to come back another day. and it doesn't help that you were late." I was not the one that was late for my appointment. If you need any work done, go somewhere else.

Wheelworks 2640 S Elcamino real san mateo,California 94403 Don't go to this place worst service employee is Rude even u have an appointment waiting for 3hrs and u need to get MAD before we put ur car in the rack we need a serious attention from head office from Wheelworks there's is a person man very Rude pls head office make actions.

I waited more then 2 hours to get a flat tire changed too find out they ordered the wrong tire . I went outside to give the code for my Tesla and the two guys are sitting one in there car and the other next to him on a chair . I had things to do today and to come outside and see him sitting down doing nothing . I will not come here . Maybe that s why you guys have such bad reviews . The guys Aditude towards the guy that works at the counter was very rude . .

terrible service first at the wheel works in San Mateo they tell me they don't have special order tires then they send me to the wheel work in Daly city because is available there 20 minutes on the phone making an appointment and 30 minutes driving to daly city then they tell me they don't work on ford transit vans because they are great when from the beginning they had already taken details of the van before the appointment. Waste of time with this company.

After an oil change across the street I found out my front tires were bald, the staff and mechanic team were able to replace app 4 tires in less than 2 hours, which is key for a busy mom before school pickup. My girlfriend had found this place and I simply accompanied her for a new set of tires. Her tires were in bad shape as well as her brakes. She has been in a really bad situation after losing her place and continuing to maintain a very demanding job, both performance and time wise. During this trip to wheel works, we were there s good portion of the afternoon due to the state of disrepair of my girlfriend s car, and while I was there I witnessed the genuine care and compassion of the lady who went by the name of tony, forgive me if I misspelled it, I m certain she can t be confused for another. This beautiful lady had a very thoughtful and pleasant demeanor visible at first glance, but the more I observed her carry on her usual daily tasks, I came to realize and admire her her level of zeal, but more importantly her genuine care and concern for the customer and it was apparent that their safety was her paramount concern, followed very closely behind with good business practices. She went well above and beyond her duties, which she already was executing exceedingly well at despite their abundance, but she did something that people will rarely ever do, at her own behest, not because she was prompted or pressured or for recognition, but she did it. I m not going to say what it was, but it was remarkable enough that I felt compelled to write this review for both her and the establishment that employs her and the other fine employees I observed there. And how much extra does all this fine service cost? Nothing at all. Their prices were reasonable and competitive, if not even less than I would expect. I can t give enough praise to this woman and wanted to share my experience and help others and let her know that she is truly appreciated. Business is typically just a exchange of cash for goods and services. This was more than that. This was business with the customers well being taking priority over anything less than a pleasant human interaction. My tires have been from Big O. Most recently, I bought two front tires ~8 months ago. I had a mail in the car tire, in the tread. They took a look at it and gave me a song & dance about how the nail was in the sidewall. They couldn t fix it, it had to be replaced. I got a second opinion at another Big O. The second place fixed it for free because it was under warranty. Big O is usually very good, this San Mateo location is an avoid.

Worst service possible.They charge double for life time wheel alignment deal, but never do that (only do it once, when you are paying). We took this deal 3 years ago but past 2 years they have been making excuses for our 2nd alignment appointment. Last year they cancelled our appointment saying that their alignment machinery was not working. This year they made us wait 2 hours and then when the time was up they said that they were only able do the oil change in the past 2 hours and that wheel alignment will take another 1.5 hours (we booked this appointment few days in advance and also took half day off for this).

I got my oil change done here and they left the oil cap off. I called them about it and they said I cant bring my car in (and have to schedule and appointment) because it ll hour before closing. Came here again at 8am to get it redone and they aren t even open.

the great storm of 2023 knocked out the power of the wheel works near my house, which left me stuck looking for another one to fix my wheel alignment after hitting a pothole that took out both my left side wheels.Toni was so helpful in getting me seen the next day after I replaced the wheels to help me fix my alignment. Super courteous I mean if you looked up the word in the dictionary her face might just be there. Told me she was busy for the next few days since they've been picking up slack(appointments) that the wheel works near my house had originally. Managed to pencil me in and had the job done in 4 hours even though they were busy.Really appreciate the help, turns out I have lifetime wheel alignment with this car...If you want to feel respected and treated like a customer I'd say come here.Service: Wheel alignment

Alexis and Vince were great! Alexis pointed out damage to my tire which might otherwise have been missed. Vince was super helpful in making sure my car was ready to go as promised. I drive a lowered vehicle, and they were careful in choosing a lift which wouldn t destroy my underside of the car.Service: TiresService: Tires

Vince (front desk & coordinator), Toni (coordinator), Nelson (mechanic) and the team were absolutely lovely! I would recommend working with Wheel Works (at Hillsdale/2640 S El Camino Real, San Mateo, CA 94403).Of note they have several locations, including a downtown San Mateo & Belmont location - so be careful when clicking google map results when scheduling, calling, or for driving directions. But I think this location convenient since it s about 3 blocks from the Hillsdale mall & 2 blocks from a 76 gas station. Vincent had kindly suggested, when I mentioned I preferred to wait for my wheel(s) replacement, there was the mall within walkable distance.Also, from start to finish, this Wheel Works team at Hillsdale was professional, warm & helpful. Although the phone line was busy / I was on put hold for a bit & understandably so during the stormy weekday when I called, Toni kindly explained their situation & warmly thanked me for my patience. She helped me schedule a Sunday morning appointment too, which I specifically requested since Sunday was forecasted for no rain & also let me know what tires & prices they had in stock & that I would be working with Vincent on Sun.This Wheel Works is one of the few wheel replacements open on a Sunday! (In fact, they are open 7 days a week.) They also have a open parking lot in front, which can probably fit ~ 15 cars with a front entrance on El Camino & a back one for drop offs.When my car was dropped off in their parking lot, Nelson was fixing another car, but warmly greeted me & helped me find Vince. Nelson speaks both English & Spanish, which is pretty cool!Vince was super nice to work with! I ended up needing to replace more tires than I initially thought & Vince patiently worked with me to find the tires & price point that best fit my needs. He also checked which tires are in stock or when the cheaper tires stock would come in, especially since I was on a budget now that I needed more wheels replaced. It s also nice that Wheel Works includes their tire & installation prices on their website- I would recommend checking that as a starting point. Mini good news: Wheel Works has cheaper tires than Costco Tires! Vince also helpfully gave a ball park estimate of when my car would be done later in the day & gave me a call when my car was done a bit earlier.I didn t get to see Nelson the mechanic in action working on my car, but when I came to pick up my car - it was neatly parked on the side of the parking lot with its wheels replaced & Nelson was hard at work as one of the last members wrapping up for the day.All in all, this Wheel Works s members (Toni, Vince, & Nelson) are super approachable & helpful & I would recommend them for those needing help with getting tire replacements!

There is no reason to shop here. I ordered my tires ahead of time, came in when they said to, no tires, no appt. Went to Beltran and they had them in stock, $10 less per tire, and installed immediately. This was not my first negative experience with wheel works, but it will be my last.

I had a flat tire emergency. Wheel works would not entertain without an appointment - and the next appointment was after 4 days! I called up Rafa's Auto care - they asked me to come over, and fixed the tire in less than 10 mins!

Amazing Customer Service I drove 30miles just to get tires here. Chris was behind the counter, very professional and efficient. He recommended the day and time to come in due to there busy schedule and seems they are short handed. The guys make the best with what they have and can. I will definitely be a return and regular customer for my vehicle maintenance.

Went in on Saturday morning after making an appointment. I confirmed when making my initial appointment that they d be able to put on my 335 tire. I called the day prior to confirm a second time and was told their would be no issues. When I arrived I was told my tires would be unable to be mounted. Worst customer service in San Mateo

First, they did a wonderful job with my alignment on my 02 Yukon, but every time I bring my 2019 Acadia in, they never have the oil filter. So I go buy a Wix next door and bring the filter. Black lady there seems to have an issue with my wife and told her that she shouldn't come back here for an oil change again cause she didn't wanna accommodate her bringing in the filter since they never carry it. Never had an issue before. But I'm thinking I will cause even after they subtracted the price of the oil filter that I purchased it was still $105. It's kind of ridiculous considering the dealership charges only like $70. It's $105 for freaking oil change and if I had to buy the filter from them it'd be like $115 to $120.

It was a rainy Sunday morning and I was in need of some automobile service. The routine oil change was due but even more pressing was a slow leak in my p/s rear tire. I had bought a Groupon for one retailer, so I went there. They were completely booked all day and told me I was out of luck... These things happen. I was directed to this wheel works location. It was here that I received the service I was looking for. It was done quickly and professionally. They spent a little but trying to find the cause of the leak but got it identified and fixed up. This store have a new great team! New management and awesome technicians! Brought my both of my cars for set of tires and they helped me out ASAP. You should check them out. They can also order you a specific tire you are looking for.

I find it ironic that when people don't understand something they want to blame the business for their failings. I have come to this store for a lot of work on my Ford F-250 and have found them to be reliable, honest, and very accommodating. I had one particular problem with my steering and they figured it out and got the parts I needed along with hunting them down as they were not easy to locate. They also told me not to change one of the steering dampeners as it was still good. They are not there just trying to sell you something you don't need. You do have choices as to what you want or don't want. IT IS YOUR DECISION. They have also fit me in on several occasions on a day when I have called in to get my oil changed. I would have to say that I will be back to have any work that I need done by them. This review is not from my daughter but, from her father. Keep up the good work! This review is from a customer and not an employee as some people may suggest.

Having an appointment here doesn't mean a thing. You may or may not get served. Understaffed all the time so "we can't get your car done as promised." BTW, this location suks even more than the location on B St. in San Mateo.
