these guys are the absolute best. I'm reading things about coupons not working, but I've personally never used coupons. I just walk in, say what I need. They figure it out and fix it and give a good price. Some employees struggle with english, but they speak CARS and that's what matters.

It said online that this smog service would cost around $30. For a 2013 Toyota Avalon. After 10 minutes the service was finished and he charged me $78. I asked why it was so expensive and his explanation made no sense. I asked him again to explain, and was given the same answer.

Fast smog check, 10 minutes. Owner even filled up my tires without me asking because a tire pressure indicator was on.

the coupon doesn't work. $80 with certificate. called another the guy told me $40 out the door. be careful with this shop.

They have a coupon online that they won t honor. Beware.Edit to add: I did read the coupon before coming here. There was no fine print on the coupon that would exclude my car. The owner just chooses when to honor it. Highly unethical.

Painless smog test. Only waited one mins the it was my turn. Confirmed price with the employee then he started working. Less than 10 mins I am out of there.Tips: invest in a OBD2 reader. The Bluetooth enabled one can be had for about $10. Download a free app to work with it. Then you can make sure all the emission related checks are green before going for a smog.

I have never had a better experience getting of all things, a smog check. I mean, no one looks at this as anything but an inconvenience. But my daughter had to get a smog check so she could register the car her mom and I got her for her 16th birthday, (she's 19 now and hasn't driven it a block) but anyway. I found these guys on Google maps, I'd never been there before. But man, I was in and out in less than 10 minutes with a certificate. And I was shocked at how little it costs. Less than a tank of gas. I would highly recommend Star smog. Especially this one

I came here in need of a smog check after "failing" at a shady business. These guys were a great help. I pulled in and they took care of everything and I was able to sit down and even watch them do the smog check. They were super fast, extremely polite and professional! I would highly recommend this place.

Well, it's inconvenient but you have to do it, so go to this guy. Super pleasant, friendly gentleman and extremely fast worker. Vehicle testing was done in about 10 minutes. FYI: There is a coupon on their website.Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

Amazingly fast and friendly. I've used Star Smog San Mateo twice without an appointment and plan to use them again. There's a little waiting area with an umbrella and cold drinks in the 76 gas station it's attached to.Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

Went in for a smog test. Was quick service but pricing was VERY sketchy. The guy first tried to charge me $68. When I asked why it was so expensive, he immediately said, ok I can do 55 and said it was the coupon price. But I checked online and the coupon price is actually $40. So I guess show them the online coupon if you ever use them or expect to get overcharged.

My car was running great. No engine light on etc. Tech said I had exhaust leak without even lifting hood and checking ?...referred me to shop for repairs? Took to All- Smog in Redwood City, Passed with flying colors!

They have 3 stalls for smog check and I happened to get there when one stall was empty, so I was done in 10 min. Fast, courteous and transparent pricing. They told me the price up front ($50 for smog certification at a star station for a regular passenger car). They did the normal send the results to the DMV electronically, gave me back the vehicle registration notice that I handed to them, and an inspection report. Yep, checks all the boxes for a fast and good smog check station.

I went to this place after seeing the $29.99 web special. It is $30 + $10 for the paperwork. My car had a loose battery cable and the technician said that it would fail, but continued the test anyway.During the test a man showed up in a vintage BMW 6 series and was turned away because it was a manual transmission and the technician couldn t smog it. Seriously. After the failed test he charged me $30 and informed me that if it passed it would have been another $10 to get the paperwork. He pulled cash out of his wallet to make change.He said that I could fix it (and drive 100+ miles to reset the computer) and return for a free retest and sent me on my way. 1/2 way home I noticed that he left his scanning equipment in the car. Roughly $1,500 worth of gear. I turn around and return it. No apology or thanks or anything.Fast forward a few days and I ve fixed the problem, but somehow I ve managed to lose the paperwork over the last 250 miles and now the 2nd technician won t look through the receipts or call the other guy to confirm.

Fantastic, cheap, and fast smog check! I came here at 4pm on a Friday and was immediately seen by the friendly staff. I was in and out in 10 minutes. Print out the $29.99 coupon (it'll be about $38 with tax) from their website.

Fast, efficient, and friendly! I can't begin to tell you my concerns regarding getting a smog check during COVID-19 shelter in place. Well, I must say all my over thinking was all for not. Smog check was done with very little contact to the inside of my car.

Went in at 820am and no one was there. Hours state they're open from 8-6 on Google and their website. There are no hours on the door.

Stopped by 5/25 around 10:30-11:00. Door open, no one there. A lady had been waiting for awhile. She had stopped by the week before and was told to come back.
