I happened across this wonderful place when I blew a tire while driving to work on 280. I was terrified but managed to make it the 2 miles to this station and was welcomed by the most lovely, kind and reassuring man named Sunny. He helped calm me down immediately with his gentle, understanding manner, and I left the car with him without hesitation, took a Lyft to work and returned the following day to a complete and very thorough tune-up, new tires, alignment, new brake pads and multiple other necessary adjustments and replacements which have probably given me another 5 years of life in a car I was thinking I needed to replace. He is a lovely, kind and exceptionally skilled mechanic who did a re-alignment check 2 weeks later for free just to confirm that all was well. Even though I live in Mt View, I will continue to use his services in the future. The drive will be well worth it.

Guy changed my oil and rotated my tires in about 10 minutes . the guy did it late night for me and the whole situation seemed weird. I was wondering how the oil change was about 40 bucks . Well there was no mileage sticker put on my dash, and the front wheel lug nut was jammed on the driver side tire and crooked after he said he rotated the tires Took it to another place next time and they showed me the crooked and jammed lug nut. It took a little time but it had to be broken off to be fixed and they gave me a free one and put it on. The customer experience was much better and I was not be going back to this San Mateo spot. Too good to be true. A 10 minute tire rotation, oil change and about 40 bucks

Sunny (the owner and chief mechanic) has fixed several issues with my BMW 2011 328 x driveHe has become my absolute Go- To mechanic for any problems I have, large or small with my car.The prices are very fair and the service quality is unmatched. He will send you photos of your old vehicle parts and show you the old parts that were removed, the new parts added and explain how the problem occurred.Although he is a popular mechanic in the area, he will get work started on your car quickly and will often have it finished within 24 hours (depending on issue).Work done on my car: air pumps replaced, gaskets replaced, coolant line, all break pads replaced, tires replaced, brake sensors replaced, engine fan, alternator.I drive my car hard and put extra pressure on the valves and gaskets so I need a good mechanic that is honest and is there whether I need him and I found that with Sunny. I have recommended him to several close friends and know they will be in good hands.Great guy and has a good team- highest recommendation. 11/10

I got my car repair today.. It was nice to see the part's being replace.. I really like the machanic the works here.. Sunny is very nice and gave me warranty..

Sunny took great care of our 2008 hatchback after we blew out the clutch in the hills nearby. It was a busy holiday time but Sunny was able to do the repairs - and a bunch of other minor stuff we had been putting off - quickly and for a reasonable price. He stayed in communication and was helpful and considerate from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend this shop!

Alfredo and Sal are always ready to diagnose, repair and especially explain any problems with the vehicles we have been bringing in for service. I have felt that their attention to detail and honest repair advice has been exceptional and very much appreciated. Service with a smile and integrity are what they bring to their work. We highly recommend them for all of our auto care and yours!

Alfredo and Sol do a wonderful job keeping my car running perfectly. All the services are well-priced, and done skillfully and efficiently. I have complete confidence in their work. What's more, they are very nice people who take pride in their what they do but always have time to explain the repairs or have an interesting chat. Five stars, hands-down. I rely on them!

On top of being genuinely nice guys Alfredo and Sal are good, honest mechanics. Alfredo has been fixing my cars for 20 years and over that time I have found that he's able to fix ANYTHING. Pricing is competitive and you can't beat the location. Alfredo has even given my son advice on repair issues with his Bronco.

Alfredo and Sal are the best auto technicians. They are able to rapidly 'diagnose' what's wrong with my Volvo and have it fixed in no time. Service is always friendly and efficient. I can usually get my car in the same day or next day for repairs. Thanks guys for doing a great job (again)!

Alfredo is awesome. I recently moved to N. CA and work around the corner. I needed my oil changed (after a 3000 mile cross country drive) and wanted my brakes checked out. I called in the morning when he opened, I had my truck down the hill in 5 minutes and Alfredo took care of me before noon! It was such great service and I really enjoyed working with him. I plan to have my truck serviced there each time it needs it and I'm in town. He also filled all my fluids and even reset my tire air regulator which I didn't ask him to do but was needed.Great service, easy in and out and IN THE BAY AREA? That's 5 stars.

College Plaza Shell has been my main car maintenance source since the mid-90's. I've consistently received excellent service from them and all employees have been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I ended up owning a 1997 Audi A4 for 14 years, and it was thanks to College Plaza Shell that my car stayed in such good shape throughout that time - I've since sold it to a friend who continues to drive and enjoy it. A variety of issues with the car surfaced over time and College Plaza Shell was almost always able to diagnose and address the issue. When they couldn't fix an issue themselves they were always honest and up front about it and would do their best to recommend how to go about taking care of it. Similarly, I have never felt like I was being pushed into more repairs or service than what was necessary at the time; they treat their customers as long-term partners and recommend the service they honestly believe is needed, even if that means less revenue (sometimes even zero revenue) for them. I highly recommend this business to anyone needing friendly local automotive care.

Alfredo at College Shell Auto Care is fast, honest and fair just like Dave who turned over the business to him. Sal, the other mechanic, is great, too. I've been trusting my family's fleet--including a hybrid--to Alfredo for years. I trust his advice and his work. Make an appointment to have your oil changed, tires rotated and brakes checked and spend the hour waiting by having a bagel at Sonoma Valley Bagel down the street.

Love these guys- have been going 2 them 4 a decade or so & they've fixed major as well as bizarre stuff 4 me & have done so in a timely fashion. & have never gouged me on price! I originally went. 2 this shop becz my car was dying & barely made it up hwy. 92 & they were the closest shop. Fully expected to B overcharged but they did not! I've been going 2 them ever since & have found them. 2 B honest, trustworthy, & efficient & I truly like Alfredo & Sal! They bailed me out of automotive jams many times over the years & They R my "Go To" guys whenever I have a vehicle problem!

Alfredo & Sal (& their predecessors at College Plaza Shell) have been keeping my long list of various makes & models of cars running smoothly for well over 20 years. I would recommend them most heartily as a great place to take you car to be serviced due to their diligence & attention to detail. You're in Good Hands with Alfredo & Sal!!

It is very hard for me to accept that there are a number of customers reviewing College Plaza Shell being just one STAR... I have been a customer over the last 10 years and I have been always appreciating and felt very enthusiastic with the job Alfredo provided to me in various occasions with my cars. He is always honest and open for suggestions, and tell me what he found and not found (yet). He is always a very good listener that he pays a very careful attention to what I tell him. I cannot explain what my problem is technically, obviously; however, he will get it eventually, and try to figure out what I meant to say.I always appreciate his service.

I have been taking my car(a) to be repaired here since 2011. Had sn old Durango that repares were going to be enormous with the dealer. I stopped by to put gas and started chatting with Mr. Alfredo about the truck. Brought it to them they have been taking care of all my mechanics needs since. Honest, dependable and great customer service.

Since these men have taken over the business the quality of care at this facility is outstanding. They go the extra mile and provide excellent advice as well as service, helping me to make long term plans for the car's maintenance. On time, honest, and friendly.

We were on our way up to the mountains the evening before Thanksgiving when we realized our tire was falling apart -- we called College Plaza Shell Auto Care in a panic -- he got us back on the road in a few hours and Thanksgiving was saved. I was really impressed with the care and the immediacy -- we could have had a terrible Thanksgiving (our cat and a brined turkey were in our backseat. Instead we were able to celebrate the with new tires and successfully getting back onto the road. Thank you so very much!!!

College Plaza Shell has been our place for car care for almost 15 years. I have always found them to be personable, honest, efficient, and flexible with their schedule. Alfredo and Sal do excellent work and have earned our trust.

I have been having my full stable of cars (up to 6 cars at one time when my now-adult children were living at home) serviced by College Plaza Shell for over 20 years & have always been appreciative of the honesty & the competency shown in keeping all of these different cars in running condition. I've always felt confident that the two Daves that preceded Alfredo & now Alfredo will give me honest opinions as to what needs to be done to keep the cars in working condition without discovering "unknown" problem areas that would increase the costs.Now that Alfredo & his trusty sidekick , Sal , are running the operation ; I continue to have full confidence in their ability to keep my cars (now down to 2) in tip-top shape & I will continue to bring them to College Plaza Shell until I either move away or get to an age where I can no longer drive.Ed Rhein

I have always found College Plaza Shell to be honest and reliable. They have been generous with services and time, sometimes checking batteries and tires for free. They are also very convenient, as I can leave and pick up the cars late at night.

Love this spot! The guys know what they're doing, they provide quick and reliable service and have great availability. Recently had my oil changed and battery replaced. Not sure I always get the best deal on parts but 100% will continue to go here in the future, can't beat the convenience and service!

Just left the station after being refused service to buy a bag of chips, as I ve done for years. The large man in the pay booth ran out to inform me I m parked blocking all the traffic trying to get to the pumps. The place was empty! I explained I was just grabing a bag of chips and he wouldn t let me enter the shop. He was much larger than me and he was getting angry. This turned into a swearing contest. As I drove away I told him that he lost the company business his response was You are only one customer. But I do have friends and family that I will be sharing my experience with. Lost one customer??

I have been taking my cars to these guys for at least 11 years now. They know what needs to be done per manufacturer recommendations and won't try to sell you work that isn't necessary.

Great lady working on the morning I was there. On my way to the airport and she turned the pump on early for me so I could top off the rental car.

You must not go here. The guy charged me $123 for engine oil ( $90 for labor ). He really ripped off my money.
