Good quality shop that is focused on Toyota & Lexus cars! Chris was quick to provide quotes and was able to answer all the questions I had. I was able to schedule an appointment a few days later to have some of my fluids replaced on my Lexus IS250. The price was fair and the shop is spacious and clean. Chris and the team at C & T keep my Toyota running at its top performance year after year. Regular maintenance is reasonably priced and well worth doing to have a vehicle that doesn't break down.

Solid and honest service. Don't go to the Putnam lexus for your service and just come here instead. Chris saved me from doing thousands of dollars of unnecessary repairs.

Took my Prius in for regular maintenance and a quick check-up before a long road trip. Leslie on the phone was very accommodating around my work schedule. Dropped off my car right before closing and left it there overnight. Extremely kind, helpful, and down-to-earth folks who really know their Toyotas. Explained everything to me in great detail. I felt confident that my car was in good hands. Provided great recommendations with a full breakdown of everything. Will definitely be coming back for my car issues.

Great service as always. I notice that when I take my cars to C&T, that the engine oil does not burn. If I stray and go to el cheapo oil changing places, my oil burns, and I have to top off the level at least once between changes. I have owned 7 Toyotas over the last 50 years. Five of them have been serviced by C & T. The other two would have been but we did not live in the Bay Area at the time. Being able to go to C & T rather than being stuck with a dealer is a great benefit to our family. I have been taking my Toyota Landcruiser and Lexus ES to C & T for more than 20 years. I continue to say that Chris is one of the most trustworthy, honest and reputable auto repair shop owner I know.Took the Landcruiser in because of a faulty brake light and a tired engine. I had taken it to the mountains and felt it was running sluggish. Chris reported it as driver error, which I have to admit is probably right. LOL. He suggested I put it in Power mode while in a lower oxygen environment. I will do as he suggests. The brake light assembly was cracked so Chris suggested changing it out because the problem may be moisture getting in to what should be a mosture free enclosure. The labor costs were very reasonable for the engine work and to replace the tail light assembly. We're keeping an eye on the brake light. If needed he'll replace the socket that holds the bulb.Excellent workmanship as well as reasonable prices and straight forward advice and service is the reason I keep bringing both my Toyota Landcruiser and Lexus sedan back to C&T Automotive.

Updated June 2023: Chris and Leslie continue to helm a stellar team. They are fast, efficient and most important, honest. I got a major service and installed a catalytic converter shield (apparently the wait for new cat converters is over 6 months). All this was done within hours and within budget. Best Toyota service in the entire Bay Area. Give them a call and you ll never see another mechanic again.Updated Review Dec 2022:Chris and team are the best. You usually do not associate honest and the concept of integrity with auto mechanics and servicing, but C&T is a class apart.We moved northwards, closer to the city, yet we still prefer to take our car down to San Mateo. They know Toyotas and often try to save you $$ by not recommending expensive add-on's, and if your servicing reveals some issues, they repair it at a reasonable price.Bottomline, just like your doctor, you need someone who is honest, gives it to you straight and has your best interests in mind. Chris and his team are the doctors for your car who you can trust!Old Review 2019:Honest, friendly, same-day service. If you own a Toyota, Chris and Leslie run the best repair and servicing shop on the Peninsula. They give you a fair estimate and charge reasonable rates for original OEM parts. After ever service, they patiently explain to you all aspects of your vehicles condition and test results. I have been a happy customer for over 4 years, after overpaying to dishonest service centers that charged me several times what C&T does. My longtime best friend has a 2001 Toyota 4Runner (Original Owner) that needs occasional TLC and basic wear and tear servicing. C&T went above and beyond to get her an honest consultation of what is needed for a truck with over 250,000 miles. What we assumed would cost a great amount of cash, it did NOT! I have been coming here for several years - workmanship and service are excellent. My older model Rav4 gets very TLC. Chris and Leslie are professional and thorough, and costs are very reasonable. They do thorough and timely work and keep track of any issues that may need to be addressed in the future. I recently had an engine check light on, and they quickly diagnosed it as a faulty exhaust gas recirculation valve, which they replaced at a reasonable price. Great service and very competitive pricing. My family has been driving Toyota and Lexus vehicles since 1984. Its no coincidence that Chris opened C&T the same year. Trust and confidence are understatements whenever we leave one of our cars, trucks, or SUVs at his shop. We know that from regular, routine maintenance to the occasional "big job" for one of our older cars; the work will be done properly with no screw left unturned, properly adjusted, or secured. It's the little extras the dealers ignore that Master Mechanics Walter. Alejandro, and John consider common.

In short, great service, super fast, great price and very friendly. Would recommend and will definitely come again.Met Chris today with some trouble with the car vibrating at certain speeds. I had not made an appointment and was expecting only for a quote and to be able to schedule a future appointment. Luckily, Chris said there was an availability and got me all set up. He thoroughly explained every detail and made sure what is being done and any issues that were found. I was basically in and out in about 3 hrs with completely fixed car. I was not pressured into getting any service and was only informed of areas that might be of concern. It was as if they knew that with such good service they did not need to convince me to come back. I'm definitely making this my go to spot for any car trouble from now on. Btw for anyone wondering, I was told that scheduling an appoint about 2-3 in advance is best for a cat guard for a prius just to make sure that they'll have it in stock by the time you come.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I've used C&T for several years, at the recommendation from a local police officer. Always pleased with the thorough and detail explanation of the work done and other service needed. I couldn't be more pleased with the owner, Chris and Leslie's customer service. And have/do highly recommend this shop....especially if you own a Toyota. I own a 1997 Toyota, and they have kept it running, sparing me the cost of a new car payment.

Work was done in a timely basis, Chris identified some other problems with the car, Rear axle bearing, and was still able to get the car done in a timely manner. Chris explained the problem and the solution and I agreed with all he had to say, as I usually work on my own car is nice to know you can trust another to the work. Price was fair, a little higher than I'm used to, but I feel more comfortable and would rather pay a bit more and know the car was fixed correctly. I will be bringing my car back to Chris if any future problems arise. Its nice to not worry about the car because you know its in good hands.Thanks Chris.

I have been servicing my cars at C&T for over thirty years. Chris and his team do great work, always use qualityToyota parts, and Chris treats customers with the highest degree of respect, honesty and integrity. Unlike some other service departments I have dealt with in the area, Chris never tries to upsell for a service that is not necessary. For example, if there is a slight leak in a component that does not pose a safety risk, he'll suggest keeping an eye on it; rather than have you spend a $1000 on an unnecessary repair. I've referred dozens of friends and co-wokers to Chris and, without exception, everyone has been highly complimentary about the service, value and results.

We recently switched to C&T due to proximity and based on their reviews. They did not disappoint. They do a thorough job and provide good direction on what the car needs. They clarify must do/ critical items from the others so that you can decide. Our experience has shown they don't ask you to frivolous items. In fact they were able to identify some issues that our previous mechanic couldn't.

Had my broken sun visor replaced, I was only able to come late so was told beforehand to leave my car and pick up next day, however the tech Alejandro(?) was willing to fix it right away. He also noticed a broken light bulb and fixed it at no charge. Service was above and beyond, overall very happy customer!

Very good experience. I had my Toyota cars (Prius and Rav4) being serviced and repaired here for the last 2 years, and am very happy. Chris does a thorough job, gives good recommendations but doesn't push things on you.

Chris is straight with you. He might not call you every minute with an update but you're okay with that because you know he's not bs'ing you. As long as it's a straight forward job, it should cost you less money and headache, compared to a dealer.Unfortunately, I had to take off a star because his mechanics were a bit sloppy putting the car back together. Some screws were still loose and headlight wires were thrown back in instead neatly tied together as it was before.

Not a good experience. I had my front brakes done there only to have this horrible noise develop you can hear my care brakes one block down the road. Took it back only to have Chris tell me it was my back brakes not the front that were the problem. So I paid more money to fix my back brakes which were absolutely fine before he replaced them problem still there so the back brakes were not the problem now the noise is even louder, Chris did note that if the problem was still there that he would have to evaluate the problem to see if it was his fault of something else causing the problem, if something else I would need to pay again......hummmm I'm taking my car back to the dealer to correct the problem, sorry Chris you lost a good paying customer

Very thorough, good documentation, and clear knowledge of specific Toyota maintenance schedules. When my ToyotaCare expired I was looking for a private shop and was pleased to find this one. I ll be back for every major service interval from here on out.
