I went to Burlingame Independent in the afternoon without an appointment and Jim (the owner) stopped what he was doing and helped me figure out why my right turn signal was not working on my Audi. He also noticed that two of my four brake light bulbs were out. He figured out what the problem was and replaced the brake lights while I waited. They had me come in the following week to replace the part that had failed (the fuse block in the engine compartment) and finished the job in less than a day. Where else can you go where the mechanic will even look at your car without an appointment? I have been going to these guys for many years. These guys are the best. Incidentally, I found out about Burlingame Independent from a guy who used to work at the Audi dealership in Palo Alto.

HEY AUDI AND VW PEOPLE- this is the place to take your car! I m the owners wife but we have been in business for over 30 years and he is the best! We have dealers that call us on advice for repairs! AUDIs are complicated and with all the new technology you need an experienced tech that knows the cars -the best part is the OWNER of the business works on your car - not a service writer that is not a mechanic- take your car here for any service repair or check up - you wont be disappointed!

Place does great work. Small independent shop. Very honest and quality work. Only downside is scheduling can be tough. Master tech has limited hours so can be tough to get timing right. That said, I have always trusted this shop with my Audis.

They are timely, transparent and reasonably priced. I went for a 40k scheduled maintenance for my VW tiguan, and they gave a very detailed quote. They also said they will only change the brake pads and roters if they need to, then only changed the rear ones because they saw that the front ones can wait till next maintenance (each pair costs about $700 so it's great to spread this out on two visits). They also notified me that my water pump is leaking, and that I can get it changed under the warranty (which i did, for free). I can trust them to do just what's needed and do it well.

Jim and the guys are great! Very trustworthy and very friendly. Called me back within the hour. Talked me through everything so I understood what the costs would be ahead of time. Were more than fair on the labor and even did an overall check of my car for no fee.So happy to have found a mechanic I can trust! Will definitely be back for all my VW needs!

Had my '03 allroad (the real one) here three times in my year of ownership for both repairs and regular service and have been very impressed with Jim and his guys. Labor prices are very reasonable for VW/Audi in the Bay Area, and they're very straightforward as to whether something is in need of being addressed or if it's still good.The only downside is their hours are basically when I'm work, and work is in San Jose, but it's worth it to work around that as far as I'm concerned. There is also a key drop for early drop off.

Honest and knowledgable folks! I came for diagnostic as I have humming and squeaking noise coming from my suspension. Guys did inspect the car, and said all is solid on the suspension, with having my tires cupped and needing an alignment. So I end up fixing nothing as they do not perform alignment but had a professional expertise and advice, at no cost!

Honest, reliable and GREAT SERVICE. To make it better they are fair in pricing. After owning a Golf TDI and a Toureg 2 I found that they are the best in the Bay Area. Always in good mood, always willing to work with the customer, what else would you want!

BEST service and very honest. Saved me literally thousands by advising me of recall. Went to VW, fixed recall, then they fixed the rest to be sure those actually needed to be replaced after the recall fix. They did, and I was outta there as fast as it could have been. Very painless for all the was done to the car. Thanks guys!

I have had service performed at Burlingame Independent several times while I was working in the San Mateo area. I cannot say enough good things about Jim. He patiently answered all my picky questions, performed work as quoted and was/is an absolutely pleasure to do business with. I will always try to go back here for service, but it's not always the most convenient location for me to get to. 5+ stars. True Pros!

Have been bringing my VW and Audi s here for about a decade now, good honest work from very friendly staff. All you can ask from your mechanic. I've gone to Burlingame Independent for years, and always found the quality and style of the service to be excellent and the prices to be very reasonable. Have tried many others, but for Audi and VW they are top-shelf.
