Copart was contracted by my insurance company to do a vehicle inspection after it started having issues. After 6 weeks of holding the vehicle with no contact, they returned it in a state of absolute disrepair. The vehicle wouldn't start, the front seats were fully reclined and broken, they RIPPED the rear license plate off causing permanent damage to the trunk door, they shredded my seat covers and left the trunk literally full of trash. The car looked like it had been through a chop shop. Under no circumstances was any of that necessary for a simple inspection, there's something shady about this business and I would not recommend Copart for anything.

I buy a lot of cars from copart but this location in San Martin is horrible no one want to work getting paid for nothing all the employees at this location is very lazy doing nothing I wait almost 3 hrs to just make a payment the copart corporate need to have a serious talk with this location manager working 10 employees and just take 3 hrs to make payment and it was not busy day but all employees talking on the phone or having conversations with each other copart makes millions of dollar and people spending thousand dollars and it shouldn t be this way and at IAAI auctions just it take 10 minutes to make payments or pick up a car and why because IAAI HAS BETTER management and they know what they r doing avoid San Martin location at any cost to make payments or pick up a title

Buyers/sellers be careful they are thieves!!! They will steal parts from the cars or vandalized them after sale. Bought a vehicle and went to pickup the car, the catalytic converter/ exhaust system was cut off from the car. Reached out to the GM Daniel Sullivan and Steve Bender to help investigate or reimbursement for the damage. I asked them to resolved this matter, but was told to be quiet and don't ask otherwise you will lose your membership. The final response from them was to STOP email/call no one will respond it.

Do not bid in this Copart location, their yard employees empty the car before you pull it out . I got a nice car , but they got spare tire , jack , trunk cover , tail light, and the exhaust.

Useless customer service, operations personal decide to stop showing vehicles when its close to 4:30 based on their personal discretion. You can ask your owners to modify business hours on the website to match your interest, branch manager Mary Volz, never went out to check customers left unattended for more than 30 mins. First and worst experience ever, waste of time and money.

Dealing with a storm damaged car, is bad enough, but having to deal with Copart makes it a much worse experience. I have had to correct the address that Coparts computer assigned several times with each of my phone calls. I am very tempted to change my insurance coverage so that I can get even average customer service. Not only do they not want to accept the correct address but they must be chased down, they DO NOT RETURN CALLS IN A TIMELY MANNER. God only knows how they stay in business

NOT HELPFUL. I was in an accident and had SafeCo. I had an appointment and had to reschedule 3 times just for a tow. Insurance had told me they needed a couple of days to get the tow ready even though it took them 1 1/2 weeks to be ready. I don t recommend this place.

Horrible rude staff. Ridiculous wait times just to pick up a title. Said I can't wait in the lobby and made me wait outside in 90 degree weather.

Needing to have a car towed after it s been totaled by insurance for tree damage is a stressful process. This towing company didn t help make that process any less stressful. I got a call from them to schedule the tow on Monday (the call of course came from an unknown number so I couldn t reach them if needed). They said the tow truck would arrive between 8 and 4 and they would call an hour before so I would know when to expect them. When it got to be 3:30, and I still hadn t heard anything and didn t know how to plan the rest of my day, I called my insurance agent who then called the company. They said that since they are a 24 hour company, the driver could come anytime. So, why bother making an appointment in the first place??? People arrange their schedules based on appointments, so it s best if the appointment means something. So, they didn t come on Monday. On Tuesday, I got a call from the tow truck driver saying he was at my residence to get my car. If I had been given an hour notice like I expected, it wouldn t have been a big deal to have it towed on Tuesday. So to minimize inconvenience to me, I re-scheduled to have the car towed for Friday. Then, on Friday, the tow truck driver called and said he was at my residence, again not giving me any notice ahead of time. So, I had to rush back home while in the middle of something. All it takes is calling or sending a text message or leaving a voicemail or doing anything else that would take 30 seconds to do in order to immensely reduce the trouble that the car owners have to go through. It s a very simple improvement. The people in the office should not set appointments and they should not claim that the driver will notify ahead of arriving if appointments are meaningless and drivers don t call. And yes, I know that I don t technically have to be home when the driver comes. They say you can just leave a key in the car. However, I think it s reasonable that I would be uncomfortable doing that since I don t want to take any risks with leaving a key in the car. Just call ahead of arriving, and this process would be so much simpler.

My personalized license plates were missing when I went to get my belongings. Don't know if it was towing company or this place, but they were on my truck the day before at towing yard.

Copart is horrible! They damaged my vehicle with their forklift. I have fully documented the damage with photos and my local Honda dealership service department. Every time I call Copart, and every time my insurance company (USAA) calls Copart, we get the run around. If your vehicle ends up at Copart after an accident, don t expect to get the vehicle back in the same condition it was in when they received it. In my case, Copart s forklift crushed my Honda Pilot s muffler bent the driveshaft, and dented the drivers side back door. Copart is horrible, but don t take my word for it. Check out their very extensive list of complaints on the Better Business Bureau (BBB).

Not honorable, don't keep their word. They said they'll mail the documents for free, since they didn't have them ready when I came to pick up the car. Now they want $30 to send the documents 20 miles to downtown San Jose. I called them 3 times to confirm if everything is ready to pick up the car before coming. Avoid dealing with copart if you can.

I am a residents that Lives on Llagas Ave. I just hope Copart would do a better job of informing the drivers to respect the residents and DRIVE SLOWER down our street. The trucks bounce around dropping car parts doing 60+ miles and hour Morning, Noon and Night. A truck just the other day had his rams fully down and scrapping our newly paved street. The traffic has increased by 70% now that the other location near Church Ave has opened. It is dangerous, and rude of these drivers on our quiet country street. Our playing kids and pets would appreciate it. The neighbors all feel the same way.

This is the worst copart i have ever been to. There s only one person in the front desk and be ready to spend the whole day to make a payment or pick a title. Avoid this please at all cost or get in the online queue At least five hours before you go there.

This location is not bad at all,the Forklfit driver s are good, and the ladies in the office are helpful just wish copart would do a better job at explaining the process to get into the office it is very confusing looking at all the it s on the front door,ok don t know what has happened within the year since i have been back but horrible now,one forklfit driver he goes to lunch at like 11:30-12:15 and if he didn t get your car out before that time, even though my appointment was at 9:45am your out of luck they will kick your appointment off the app and you will sit and wait, and if you are not aware that they kicked off your appointment you will be sitting in the yard feeling really dumb thanks @Copart

These guys would have gotten 5 stars from me because the office staff was friendly and helpful and the forklift guy at the main lot was awesome. The 3 star rating is only because they have pot holes in the secondary lot down the street and the cars bounce up and down on the forks while they bring them out. I could see 6 inches of daylight between a customer's Prius and the forks as he came rushing out of the lot at top speed and bounced through the pot holes. I watched several cars come out like that before they brought mine out. Also on my own car one of the brake lines was cut in two and smashed by the fork as they brought it out. All the other auctions we buy from allow the dealers to retrieve their own cars, which eliminates the waiting and the abuse to the cars. All CoPart locations force buyers to wait for their operators to bring out the cars which causes bottle necking in the lot and wastes cumulative years of time for the dealers and shippers waiting. My favorite shipper refuses to haul from any CoPart because of this hassle. In terms of dealing with Copart, the San Jose location is one of the best.

Very helpful, a bit of a process to get inside (scan barcode, sign in - a good thing, allowances for COVID safety and their readiness to escort you). Must call them at least 30 minutes in advance to make it seamless.

Copart is the absolute best in customer service. In a business that is so much pressure, they never fail to be patient, respectful and genuinely friendly.

Love this place, shop for donated or slightly damaged cars, motorcycles or RVs. You will need to hire a dealer to purchase unless you find something not on dealers list. You can only view a vehicle a visit, no test driving, start only and you can put the vehicle in gear. You can pay to have vehicle checked out which I would do if you are not a mechanic.

Help inside the the office and outside guys couldnt have been more helpful. Little disappointed report said it had keys but upon pick up no keys were located, having accurate information would have influenced my bidding.
