This is a nice little motel operated by a local guy. The room was very nice. I appreciated the wood laminate floor instead of the typical old carpeting, and the small microwave and refrigerator were also nice features. The bed was fresh and very comfortable. Our host was also helpful in suggesting some great options for dinner places in town. There is some construction going on as they rebuild the office, but there was no noise at all, plenty of parking, and no inconvenience. I recommend this place to anyone staying in the SLO area.

This is wonderful place and frankly they can charge a lot more but they don t and that is the beauty of it.The room is small but perfect. Everything is thought about, the fridge, the microwave, the bedding, the ac, and everything else.Jerry, the owner is extremely nice and accommodating.The location is amazing and close to downtown.The room is clean and well arranged.You will love this place. Stayed here for one night. Close to downtown SLO. The reception who I assume is the owner was very friendly, polite and helpful. He put me on to the farmer s market which was a blast. Pretty decent for what it is - a motel. The room was cute and up to date. I like that my room had wood floors and not carpet. My issues: the bathroom could have been cleaner - the shower curtain was dirty and there were dirt spots in the shower and the sink. I also wish that there was an iron in the room. Nevertheless anyone looking for a low budget option, this motel is a decent choice.

Excellent for the price point. No frills but the room still has a nice dresser and multiple lights. Room was clean and smelled great, which was our biggest concern. I saw some reviews about limited parking, but I went on a full night and there were 1-2 free slots, so I wouldn't worry. Overall 10/10 recommend. Seems like it's often booked out, so book early

To summarize our stay I would say that if you are not meticulous about cleanliness this hotel will suit you. The price charged is absolutely indecent considering the cleanliness of this hotel and the non-existent services. For the same price you can get better. I do not recommend this hotel. The walls do not provide any privacy. The location is terrible (very noisy). I could have been satisfied with all this if the hotel was clean. Pass on your way. There are much better places for the same price.

Great inexpensive motel. Rooms are newly updated but tastefully appointed. Nothing whatsoever dingey or past expiration. Very well maintained property and Jerry in the office is personable, friendly and responsive. One conspicuous advantage this place has over others is plentiful power outlets conveniently positioned in the rooms, as well as west and east facing windows with copious natural light.

I was really beyond happy with this motel. If you're looking for a budget-friendly motel in SLO close to the action, this was great. The second I walked into the room I was shocked by how nice it was considering the low price. Not to mention the guy who runs it was so nice to us.The only complaints were really small things, like the heater didn't go into the bathroom without opening the bathroom door all the way, and every hour or two the heater would make a loud clanging noise, but it didn't keep us up at night or anything.All in all, I'd highly recommend this place if you just need somewhere to crash for a night or two.

I just needed a place to stay for two days when visiting some friends. Sunbeam is a no frills motel with a decent bed and clean rooms. The walls are a little thin but everyone seemed to respect quiet hours after 10 so it wasn't an issue. This place is within walking distance of a bunch of stuff and a cool farmers market that pops up every Thursday nearby. Perfect for what I needed and a good price

Haven't actually stayed here yet and will report back after I do but I just wanted to leave an initial review! I booked this place and called the front desk for a few questions regarding checking in/out. I spoke with the owner and he was so relaxed and friendly (in the genuine way..not the forced way). So far this seems like it's going to be a charming stay with a very accommodating staff. I am looking forward to visiting my college town and staying here :)

My visit was short and last minute but I definitely loved that the place was clean and ready for my arrival. My room was spacious enough yet felt cozy which is always a plus. The staff at check in was super nice and helpful. Add great pricing and convenience in location and it makes for a great stay for anyone. Definitely will return!

Clean, quiet, affordable, great location. Everything we were looking for for our quick trip to San Luis Obispo. We were able to walk to the main area of town from the place. The owner was super helpful and hospitable. Would stay again!

Great affordable place to stay! Jerry, the guy at the front desk, was very kind and friendly. And the room is modern and updated inside. Don't be fooled by the motel's exterior. Only downside is that the walls are thin, so you can hear any outside traffic easily. But otherwise a very nice stay.

I stayed mid-week. Great price. Hotel manager was a sweetheart. It was clean and quiet. I was able to park my car right outside my room. Plenty of outlets. Everything in the room worked perfectly. If I wasn't just passing thru I'd totally stay again.

Absolutely terrible. After staying for over 3 weeks I was asked to switch rooms. I voiced my displeasure in a professional manner and then the manager shows up at my door steaming mad. No apology. He then continues to pursue me by email stating that he lost his cool . He then shows up at my door and demands that I leave the property for being disrespectful All from simply voicing that I was unhappy. Complete lack of professionalism and maturityAlso the building is very old and the walls are paper thin

This place was just an overnight for me as I was passing through. The host was welcoming and check in was easy. The area is quiet and they have cameras in the parking area. There is a Shell station mini-market a few min within walking distance and some eateries in the area. I would definitely stay there again.

I was going to give this place 384 Stars. But because of Mr Jerry, I believe he's the property manager, he went above and beyond what he's supposed to be doing. I stayed at this place only for the fact that I had a dentist appointment on Wednesday morning. Mr Jerry was able to accommodate me so I can stay on Tuesday, which was very generous of him. Wednesday morning my Uber didn't come and he offered to give me a ride to my dentist appointment. I mean who does that. This guy is an amazing guy, he does what he can to accommodate, and is able to help out on his own time just because he's a nice guy which is awesome of him.Now, the exterior may not look as amazing as the Hilton. But you're not staying the outside of the hotel. You are renting a hotel for a reason. You're raising it for the fact because it looks nice, because it's updated, because you want to feel comfortable as you were staying in your own home. I felt like I was home. The room of spacious and the room had everything that I was looking for. It had a decent size bathroom, they had a tv, the refrigerator, the microwave, and a soft bed. The bed by itself is flawless. It was so comfortable that I almost slept immediately.The previous renters may have done something to the sink and the toilet. I informed Jerry about the toilet and the sink but I took it upon myself to flush whatever it was in the sink and in the toilet. Because of the room being spacious and had all the amenities that I was looking for and for Jerry being such an amazing person and offered himself to take me to my appointment, this place does deserve five stars.Some of the hotels are 24/7 room service and requesting an extra towel and all that other jazz..... But since this place is like basically another home and it feels almost like an apartment, I believe that having his services stopping at 10:00 p.m. and resume back at 8:00 a.m. is perfect. There were two times that I feel like I was at a friend's house that's how comfortable and relaxing this place was.Everybody has different tastes, everybody has different needs, and everybody has different wants. You may not agree with me with the five stars, but because of Jerry being a good hearted and a fantastic host I personally believe this place is five stars. It's nice it's quiet and it's perfect for those who want to stay at least a day or two. Oh and the prices is very reasonable. I would find myself staying at this place again in the future.Oh and Jerry if you're reading this, thanks again for offering to taking me to my dentist appointment. Thank you thank you thank you.

Great customer service. Some of the best I've experienced. The rooms are a pretty good for the price and the location is also great. Ac a little noisy but did not bother us. Will definitely be back

We experienced amazing customer service from site management. Management displayed a true concern for all his tenants. Our room was clean , spacious and management went over to re-inspect our room before our arrival and touched up. Our room smelt clean and fresh. Room was booked on bookin.com and we were able to find the motel cheaper then most surrounding motels. By far this was the best choice. For a decent price in a upscale area, you'll get a flatscreen TV , mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, comfortable bed/bedding, closet, body mirror, blow dryer, air conditioning and amazing water pressure in the shower. The only flaw was the blank space by the tv and the toilet being so close to the wall, making sitting in uncomfortable positions. I would diffently come back and recommend this place.

The beds are comfortable. Sheets and towels were fresh. Very tired room, a lot of old things, especially the chair - it's terrible. The refrigerator was filthy with the rest of other people's food. Everything looks much worse than in the photo. Wi-Fi is bad, I could not connect

Rooms were a bit dated and run down. Nooks and crannies were dusty/dirty, the microwave turntable didn't turn and the mini-fridge had a broken temperature knob. However, sheets and towels were clean and we didn't find any bugs. So for the cost ($48 per night), it was decent.
