I have been trusting Scott s shop for a few years now with my 1969 Firebird. Scott and his crew do excellent work and can be trusted to get the job done right. If something isn t functioning properly they will make sure that everything works as it s supposed to. They recently did an engine rebuild for me and I can t be happier! The best part is that you can trust Scott and know that his entire team will treat your vehicle with the utmost care.Services: Carburetor cleaning, Electrical, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Brakes, Oil change

I'm really not sure what to think of this place. I had a knock sensor code, so I took it in to get it fixed. After replacing the knock sensor and wiring harness, the check engine light kept reappearing and eventually they stopped returning my calls. I'm not sure if they thought I was screwing with them or something, but I would rather they tell me they can't do anything else than just ghost me. Also, when selling the car (didn't want to deal with issue anymore) they had left a dirty rag in the engine bay near the serpentine belt. Overall, it was a disappointing experience given the other reviews and I just wish they had communicated with me more about not being able to help past what they already did. Kudos for the extra work they did do for a bit after the problem persisted though.

Scott is straight forward, his crew does solid work, and the prices are competitive. There is good reason he has been in business for a long while. Give them a shot if you re looking for help with your car you ll be stoked.

On an extended trip had a strange noise coming from under the car that was hard to diagnose. Scott took us in right away for a quick look despite being short handed. He repositioned cars in the garage bays and the mechanic put the car on the lift. He quickly found the problem and welded a loose heat shield back in place. Shop was clean, friendly, professional, fast. Highly recommend!!!

I went to Scott's Shop for a sticky clutch after my regular mechanic in town wasn't able to fully diagnose the issue. Scott's team quickly figured out the potential issue, as well as found some fluids that desperately needed refilling (which I was honestly shocked to hear since I get an annual "check-out-my-car" review from my other mechanic and never once was I informed that I should check various fluids). With refilled fluids, my car has been running beautifully! And I am very happy I didn't end up needing a new transmission - phew!I appreciated Scott's transparency throughout the process - from cost estimates to explaining issues without being condescending. And the overall cost spent was within the range I prepared to pay.I think I have found my new mechanic!

I've used the great services of Scott's Shop a couple times, first for something minor (smog test) and soon after we returned more a more expansive service we needed. Of course it's always a bummer to have to get work done on your car, but it's so reassuring to have it done by people who are communicative, friendly/funny, and trustworthy. I was recommended to them by a friend and now I'll be recommending them myself. Great experience.

My first visit to Scotts Shop was fantastic. The first thing that struck me was how clean and organized the shop was. If you ve been to many mechanics, you know that most shops are a mess. I took my Chevy volt there because the AC was hissing and not blowing cold. It s six years old and I just bought it used a few weeks ago knowing that something was wrong with the AC. I m happy to say Scotts shop diagnosed and fixed it quickly. There was no pressure about doing a bunch of other stuff although he did point out a few things that it needed. I will definitely be bringing it back there next time I need something. I would recommend them to anybody!Service: Air conditioning

A neighbor recommended Scott's Shop and I am so very glad he did. I brought my Honda van by to have it looked at. They scheduled me an appointment to have the repair done pronto. The work was done very efficiently and quickly I might add. I would not hesitate to take my vehicle back to them for any issues

We have trusted our vehicles to Scott and his team for more than ten years. They are helpful, knowledgeable, and flexible. Their work is affordable and their billing is always transparent. Scott is personable and reassuring, a real small town type of business owner who remembers his customers and always makes time for conversation. When I once broke down on the road and called Scott out of desperation, he coached me through some quick fixes and got me back on the road. Whenever people ask us for a recommended mechanic, we always send them to Scott.

Scott is not only an amazing mechanic but he is also kind and explains what he needs to do to your car throughly! I always feel extremely well taken care of there and never like I'm being cheated out of anything! I've taken 3 cars there now and will continue to go back because of the quality of work, knowledge base, and friendliness everyone there possess.

I have consistently been given solid and sensible advice from this shop on a wide variety of repairs and issues that needed to be addressed. Recently I had them swap out the transmission, all suspension/steering components, switch to disk brakes, and a number of additional minor things along the way on my 1968 El Camino. As usual...the quality of work they did was exactly what I expected...excellent! I highly recommend this shop if you want the work done right.

I have been to Scott s Shop twice within the past month and am pleased with the new front end on my Dodge Ram 3500 Van. The ride is better and I feel safer. There is integrity in their work. All the guys were friendly and I would take my rig back to them for more work. Thanks guys.

I took my truck into Scott's shop because I trust them. That did a great job on fixing my truck. I am happy with the work they did.I would recommend them to anyone that needs to have their vehicles fix.

Wow, don't have enough great things to say about Scott and his business. I own an auto body shop here in town so i understand how important customer service is, Scott's Shop gets an A+ in that department. My dads original Corvette went into him recently, hurting from sitting, and he got it running absolutly perfect, couldn't be happier! Thanks Scott!

Honest Shop. I know a bit about cars from having Diesel Mechanic Father, Uncles and Grandfathers - Sent Husband into Scott's for the second time (Husband is a Lovely Man but cars allude him) -- I thought my cheap rotors were acting up but breaks good - maybe Bearings because the odd sound -$200-500 minimum. Turns out a piece of my plastics were rubbing (I have Rims so they kept catching perfectly) - $120 out the door with oil change. They could Have gotten us for $$$ instead they were honest again. Thanks Guys

After going by Scott's Shop on my trips to SLO for several years I finally went in to check them out. I saw several cars from the 60's & 70's as well as newer autos being worked on. l talked to Scott & Gino on two occasions and decided to take my 1964 Corvette in for some repairs. They stuck to the estimate given & called when something else cropped up so I could make a decision on the cost & repair. I am very happy with the end result & would recommend them to anyone who has an older muscle car. Scott & Gino know what they are doing & can find the parts that are needed. I will return.Lyle

Scott and Gino are wonderful, and I am so glad I have found a trustworthy mechanic here in SLO! A good mechanic is hard to find. They were very reasonable in pricing, very thorough in their work, and are very efficient. I wont go anywhere else!Thanks guys!

This shop and the people working there are great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. I brought my just purchased Mustang for a major going thru to get it ready for track duty and other issues. Couldn't be happier. After seeing the other cars in the shop I knew I had found the right place for me. If you have a specialty car this is the place for you.

Great staff, super friendly customer care, fast service. Reasonable prices. They know vehicles and don't take advantage of customers for unnecessary high dollar repairs. They make recommendations for upcoming maintenance, with due dates and cost estimates so you can plan ahead. Very happy at this shop and recommend them highly!

Women do not go here!!!I took my truck in for a metal on metal sound coming from the brakes. I had suspicians that it was a metal shim that had gotten dislodged, and let them know when i dropped it off (I dont have the tools to check it out myself). When i picked my truck up the diagnoses was warped rotors and $500 for new brakes. It just didnt feel right so I decided to trust my gut and take car back home. A family friend with tools came and checked the car out for me--it was the metal shim. $20 in parts and 1 hour later and the problem was completely resolved! My truck has been running great for over a year.Can I say Im surprised an automotive shop tried to take advantage of me? No. Am I dissapointed that a shop with good reviews thought this was acceptable? Yes.
