I've had a beyond phenomenal experience with McCarthy's. Easy, quick and smooth auto buying experience. I saw a listing for a Honda Element, called and Oz had me in, test driving and signed within an hour or so. If you want a smooth and exceptional experience, go see Oz! He's not only professional, he's hilarious and just a rad, fun dude to talk to. I will definitely be buying my cars through McCarthy's from now on. Thank You Oz for getting me into, not only my dream Element, but for making it a great experience too. The car drives like a dream! 10 out of 10, will buy again!

Owner of McCarthy's was gracious, kind, and honest in pricing the value of my vehicle while conducting business in his establishment recently. I walked away with a check in hand for a fair price according to blue book. I wasted time with Toyota in San Luis Obispo twice over a 3 month time span and was disappointed in their underhanded tactics that rendered lower offers than the car was worth. At McCarthy's I was treated with respect and got the closure in selling my vehicle quickly without hassle. I am extremely thrilled over the ethics McCarthy's dealership employs with their customers.

My experience at McCarthy s just a few days ago was absolutely wonderful! I have nothing but good things to say about Jimi and his team. It was my first time buying a car all on my own and initially I was nervous because I didn t know what to expect, but Jimi made the experience easy-going as he explained everything straightforwardly! He is a very understanding man whom works very hard and it shows! At McCarthy s they are very flexible and helpful and make the process of buying a car as simple as possible. I appreciate everything they taught me while I was there and their willingness to answer any questions I had. I 100% would buy a car from them again. Thanks so much for making my dream of owning an amazing car come true, you guys are the best!

McCarthys SLO exceeded all of my expectations. Not only did they have some great cars to choose from but their sales rep, Jimi and finance guy, Cody, went above and beyond to help me get a vehicle. Their sense of urgency, kindness and overall personalities made me feel both super cared for and eager to work with them. Jimi truly knocked it out of the park. This guy could not be more cool and funny! As someone who's been to lots of dealerships over the years, Jimi truly takes the cake for being the nicest and non-pushy sales rep i've EVER encountered. His rad attitude and and positive thinking truly helped me stay a lot less stressed during the car buying situation. Jimi and Cody both were phenomenal putting in extra time and work while short staffed to get me financed and into a great car. Cody specifically took time to look into a couple of different options so that I could drive off the lot with the best deal.McCarthy's is extremely lucky to have the guys they have and I would wholeheartedly recommend using them over a name brand car dealership ANYDAY. You honestly won't get the genuine personalities these guys displayed anywhere else.Thanks again!

The people here sold me a chevy avalanche with a cheap aftermarket transmission replacement and did not mention it one bit that it had a transmission replacement performed. Had they mentioned I would not have bought this vehicle.They said it was all original. Not to mention all the other cheap after market components I discovered through time.It lasted a year before showing signs of transmission failure before giving out, now I'm stuck with a $6000 mechanic fee to get it fixed and the payment for the vehicle.Try your luck somewhere else because this is not the first time I've heard about these guys selling mickey mouse repaired vehicles.

Macarthy s was absolutely wonderful. Jimi helped us find the perfect vehicle he went over and above taking care of us!!! People talk about being nervous buying used vehicle but buying from Macarthy s gets rid of that fear by checking their vehicles over and giving a 30 day warranty (free) on the vehicle you purchase from them. They are very nice helpful and are willing to answer all your questions. We will definitely recommend Jimi and the Macarthy s team to our friends and family. Amazing, personable experience! I have had a really tough couple of years mentally and financially. I ve been working hard to build my credit up to be able to get a new car and I had my eye on a specific car at McCarthys. I walked in on Monday and Jimmi and I talked and started an application for the car I wanted. I am in a really unique financial position, but Jimmi and the team at McCarthy s made something work and now I own a car I ve always wanted. Thank you Jimmi and team, you guys are rock

Please let me recommend Steve at McCarthy's for his integrity, honesty and customer focus. I was interested in a car there and asked for a prepurchase inspection by an independent garage. Steve not only sent the car there for inspection, but when that garage changed their price, sent it to a second garage at my request -- all with no hesitation or complaints. He went out of his way to address all my concerns so that I'd be a satisfied customer. Highest marks to Steve and McCarthy's!

Great place to cook a crab lolAll jokes aside I've never personally done business with McCarthys but their inventory looks great and they seem to be a caring,well respected business,I'm glad to have found the crab video as I got to see the staff are just some fun loving guys who can take a joke, if I'm ever down in the area and need a ride at a great price I know where to go.

What a great and honest place! I used to work in the car industry for a number of years and it was great to deal with a place that is straight forward and upfront. I came in to get a quote to sell them my car and they were by far the highest offer I had had and was able to get a check for it in no time. Whether I need to buy a well maintained slightly used car or if I ever need to sell another one in the future McCarthy s will for now on be my first stop! Thanks again you guys!

McCarthy s is a solid car company. I would highly recommend to anyone in need of a vehicle. I purchased a rare car from over 500 miles away, sight unseen. They gladly held the car for over a week until I could make it to the lot. I felt comfortable because they offered up a free warranty covering the vehicle for several months/ miles after the purchase. They ve been in business for over 4 decades for a reason, they do what they say and say what they do. Jimmi was really great to deal with through the process. No pressure, just there to help in any way possible. I ve bought a lot of cars over my lifetime and this purchase will stand out as one of the best.

The folks at McCarthy's were friendly, reasonable, and pleasant to deal with when I sold my car. Both of the people I worked with were straightforward, with none of the haggling or weird sales tactics I encountered at other dealerships in SLO. A+ experience, would recommend.

Jimmy was my sales cars man, very knowledgeable about all the cars on the lot. He made it fast and painless to purchase a car from him. Our vehicle is very clean for a used car. Our vehicle came with new tires and breaks, they did a 5 star inspection on all their vehicles before they sale it on the lot.Thank you McCarthy!

My husband and I just got a Tahoe frome here, the staff Is FANTASTIC to say the least. They worked with us to get the absolutely best price and interest rate. I was in a bit of a pinch, I needed a vehicle quick at an affordable price. Long story short my commuter vehicle was totalled. I found something online at McCarthy's. I went down there on a Sunday, test drove a nice Scion. I wasn't pressured or needed to make a decision right then and there. I spoke with Jimi, a heck of a guy !. After the test drive told him I was going for lunch and I'd either be back or I wouldn't. I slept on my decision . I called him back Monday and now I own the vehicle. Very easy going dealership. Large selection of good vehicles. Easy financing. I really like Jimi, not only is he in the car business but after talking with him for a bit, he's an accomplish artist. I was admiring some artwork in his office, he gave me one of his peices of work which my family and I adore, also personalized it and autographed it. It's in my living room as I'm writing this review. Dealership was clean and face coverings were worn by all staff members. Go to Mcarthy's it well worth it.

McCarthy's earns its reputation as a friendly and honest dealer. They offered a more-than-fair price for our son's truck and made the whole transaction quick and easy. They have great cars on the lot and anyone looking for a good used vehicle should keep McCarthy's at the top of their list!

I recently gave this place a good review. I have more recently changed that to a one star. Would be zero if possible. I purchased a car here that was fine at first but then became nothing but problems. First my tire fell off while driving due to the fact that when they sold it to me it only had 2 lug nuts on the tire (which I had not noticed). Now 4 months after the purchase I have to replace the transmission, which is very pricey. I contacted McCarthys and they didn't seem to care at all or even offer to help. I spoke with a man named Chris and he was very rude saying the I'm basically out of luck and that it is "water under the bridge". I highly recommend buying your car elsewhere as to this place does not work with you at all.

Very kind, helpful, and enthusiastic people that work here. This made for a very smooth transaction for selling my truck with no hassle at all. They also seem to take really good care and pride in the cars they do have on their lot. I definitely recommend this business

I bought a Honda van off their lot. They had three Honda Odysseys available for my inspection. They allowed us to drive each one of them and there was no pressure from the salesman who helped us! They are a "used car" lot and not a dealer lot so they have many nice cars of all makes so the choices are many if you don't know exactly what make and model of car you are looking for. You can drive several to help make up your mind as to what you want. The paperwork was quick and easy so the entire purchase was a breeze and i left a happy customer with my "new" van

My husband and I bought a Honda CRV in July from Jimi, who was awesome. He was not pushy at all, listened to what we wanted/needed in a vehicle and within 3 weeks had the perfect vehicle. Highly recommend

My nephew had some credit problems, but I bought my last car here and Chris, and the guy who does the finance here we're great it had been an easy sale n great car. Today Sam helped my nephew as well and he loves his car!
