Currently under new ownership. Paul has retired and sold the place. The cat and all the artwork is gone, definitely doesn't feel the same anymore! There are younger guys running the show now. Business hours are not the same as before (still not updated on Google). Unfortunately, this was not a very good experience with this change in ownership. I don't know that I'd return - despite the convenient location - or recommend anyone to come here for service. While waiting for my car to be serviced, the worker at the front desk, after turning away 3 or 4 people, was complaining to the guys on the shop floor about all the people who were coming in for oil changes. He very colorfully remarked (and loud enough for all of us in the waiting area to clearly hear) that he'd never pay someone to change his oil and that people should learn to change their own oil since it's not that hard. Correct me if I'm wrong but the sign outside reads "SpeeDee Oil Change and Auto Service". If you're upset that people are coming into your business for oil changes, maybe find another business to get into or else take down the sign that advertisers oil changes as one of the main services you provide. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, airing out your frustrations about current and potential customers right in front of them is simply NOT a good business practice. My oil change today took longer than usual despite being one of the first cars serviced. They also failed to put a new sticker letting me know when I'm due for my next oil change which I didn't realize until I got home and saw the old sticker still on my windshield. Would I recommend this place? Definitely not. I'd actually recommend to avoid it at all costs.

The price for semi-synthetic oil change was listed as $52.99 in the store, however, the owner stated that I should pay $63.00, because my car supposedly needs more oil! I have a compact car, so it's hard to imagine that it needs so much oil that the cost would be so much higher than the listed price. When I gave a $5 coupon to the owner, he didn't seem happy; however, he honored the coupon. I urged the owner to perform the 17 points inspection listed in the coupon, he agreed to do it. Among these 17 points, there were fluid checks... and vacuuming the floor boards! This is the third time I'm coming to this place with coupon and I can assure you that they do no vacuuming at all. False advertisement. Also, they told me to come back after 3,000 miles. If what they put in my car is really semi-synthetic, I should come back after at least 5,000 miles. I do not believe this place anymore. Also, the old cat Chewy is gone. I was mostly coming for the cat because he was cute. If there were no advertised vacuum-cleaning, I cannot trust that the 17-points check was performed. But the owner is very professional and does service on time.Service: Oil change

Super great when I was in a pinch. I usually do my own oil change, but I did not have a breaker bar available and there was no getting the housing off. They were willing to use what I already bought for the filter and oil and great about what would happen if they couldn t get it off. Super fast and very friendly. Also washed my windshield while they were at it. Won t be going anywhere else. They have a lifetime customer!

Everyone is super helpful and nice, and the work was done really well. They have great prices, a really really cute and friendly cat might come say hello, and fun decorations. I will definitely return to get work done here.

This place is the best oil change place ever. It's decorated with cool artwork (the owner is a super nice photographer) and the bathroom is so clean, you could eat off the floor. This place has this "home" feeling, hanging out waiting for your car isn't painful like other places.I never thought I could ever like an oil change place, much less write a review on one! As, I'm a girl and this isn't my thing, I usually dread the entire oil change process and the uncomfortable institutional "greasy monkey garage guy vibe autmosphere" who knew?

I've been coming here for about a little over 5 years they have always been great with all my cars very efficient and professional. Great service I always recommend this spot its the best in San Leandro. I walked in and thought i will wait forever but no, they were fast, friendly and it was affordable. I had a couple of questions later and they answered it in a very professional manner. The work done was great too. I will definitely come back here.

Dropped by after Christmas Day, they open, no appointments needed, fast, easy, friendly and great and most importantly affordable service! Talk and negotiate with them and it should work out! These guys are awesome!
