Today, April 4, 2024, I turned to the Hyundai authorized service hoping to receive professional maintenance for my car. However, my encounter with this service turned out to be a complete disappointment.Immediately after handing over my car for repair, a manager named Ali informed me of the need to replace the generator and multi-fuse. Outraged that my real car issues were not diagnosed and ignored, I began to ask questions. However, the answers I received were not convincing. They claimed that to perform a full diagnosis, it was necessary to first replace the generator. This raised serious doubts for me, considering that the generator had already been replaced twice before without resolving the issue.When I demanded explanations regarding payment for incomplete diagnostics, the managers began to evade my questions and refused to cooperate. The senior manager named Brian was extremely persistent and showed no willingness to help. He even issued an ultimatum, demanding cash payment, despite my request to pay by credit card.He Also said me that I make bad business with bad face!!!!!!!!The rude attitude, unwillingness to resolve the problem, and unacceptable demands for payment for incomplete diagnostics made me feel deceived and offended. I was forced to pay $249.95, but I am sure that this service is not worth a penny of my money. I do not recommend anyone to use this service, where besides incompetence and rudeness from the staff, no solutions are offered to the customers.

Worst servicing experience I have had of any Hyundai service center. I was serviced by Ali.1. My front right tire was losing pressure, and Ali kept saying the tires need to be replaced as they are worn out. During servicing they did not even check for puncture. Later I checked and there indeed was a puncture.2. Presented $300/600/800 service options. When I asked for basic service then he reluctantly shared the $99 service option.3. I presented a $5 service coupon they had online, and initially he honoured it and later at the time of billing I was charged the full amount.Save yourself the hassle of coming here and getting poor service.

Went to get a recall service done and Sara De Guzman was very helpful and got me a Lyft to go to a nearby place to wait. Initially she told me the service will probably take about 4-5 hours! But when I got a call from her that everything was finished I was relieved and thankful. Booked a Lyft back to the place. Overall good service!

This is fro the service dept. We had an appointment to calibrate my windshield we dropped off the car and they scanned our vin and told us we were good to go. We thought everything was great. They did the oil change and washed the car, beautiful, however upon returning home they did not calibrate my windshield! The entire reason for the appointment. Upon calling back the service advisor Sara was horribly rude to us and said it was our fault for not mentioning at dropoff!!! You scanned the vin and said we were good??! How is having an appointment not give you any records to start with? How did this get overlooked? According to Sara it was our fault. When I tried to escalate and speak to a manager she would not transfer me and said there was no one else to talk to. How do you blame the customer?? How do you not just apologize and offer the quickest solution possible. I'm horribly upset and disappointed by this experience.

I visited this place more than 7 times to get the car fixed and never get fixed.I hate that place. It's like a nightmare.I get rid of my car. Still, I can't forget the worst services I ever had.I will not forget to mention the poor customer service.

Kinda wild that my catalytic converter had to be replaced at less than 62k miles. However, it was covered under warranty and Ali has been particularly helpful. We still have to determine how much oil the car is burning. That part is still in progress. Overall I have been very satisfied with the service I have received. I have taken my car to this location for every service and issue and will continue to do so.

I give this place 5 stars for always serving with a smile very professional and clean dealership. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming including the porters that cleans the car for the customers. My go to dealership.

Our SUV was broken in to and they tried to steal it. Before this we.kept trying to get in for the recall but they are always booked. Was finally able to go in for the recall on a Sunday but this was after someone tried to steal it. Staff was very brief and didn't want to answer questions as they had a lot of customers.

The Service advisors are very friendly helpful and professionals. Denny, Sara, Cris, Michelle, Ali and Eraca are great! I have been coming here for years and each new member is a plus! They all deserve a reward

This is my 3rd Hyundai car i have been coming to this dealership for years. Staff is pretty friendly. Coffee is watered down but its ok. Across the street us a shopping mall so you can shop while getting your car serviced. Or if youre within 15 miles theyll lyft you home and pick you back up when its done!!! Other dealerships wont let you get a ride home unless you spend over 500 dollars with them.

Overall I had a bad experience his location,never updated about my car and I had to be the one calling to receive any type of update. I waited a week for my car and if it wasn t for me calling I would ve have never known my car was ready to be picked up. I asked how much will the total price be to pick up my car I was told $230 but when they emailed me the receipt the price was completely different then what was told to me. The workers communication skills need to be worked on because she said on the phone I wouldn t be charged for the part the total price would be 230 for my car. I ended up having to pay more than that. When they finally gave me my car the issue still wasn t resolved and nothing was done to my car. I noticed inside they dropped my ash tray and didn t even bother to clean it up. There was ashes all over the front of my car which I thought was unprofessional of them. If you drop something it should be cleaned up. Overall I wouldn t come back here I was lied to and the communication lacked majorly.

Horrible place!!! If I may give it a 0 Stars I would! 1 Star is too good for this place! Their dealership is great, however their SERVICE is horrible! I went there for my windshield and their so called Service Advisor Manager name is Steve or Scott..something with S...all I can say is horrible person! If you care about your vehicle take it to any other Hyundai Service! You will thank me. This is not the 1st time this service has failed. PLEASE STAY AWAY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! They have been reported to Hyundai already. Any other service would be better than this horrible place. They need 100% change in staff and managers! Never stepping a foot in that nightmare place.

I went to get my car a recall.... Check up but they were all booked up. Of course I missed my appointment the day that I went back. My appointment was at 7:00. Smh, but I have another appointment for August so I definitely won't miss that. I love their services pretty cool

I came in for an appointment due to couple of emails for recall and for them to check the whistle sound from the drivers side window it makes whenever in the freeway driving 50+ mph. I had this problem ever since I got the car.I bought it brand new and I love everything about it except that whistling sound. It s annoying especially when you re in a long trip. So I took a day off to get this fixed. They said they test drove it and couldn t find the problem. But right when I got off the freeway, I heard that whistle sound again. It was not fixed. So I had to take a video of it so they ll understand what I m talking about. And scheduled another appointment again. and one more thing, make sure you get all your important items from your car before you leave. They ll make u sign a waiver saying they re not responsible for any items lost. Somebody took my phone charger. It s pointless to even argue with them about it. I regret trusting them!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I had an excellent experience at this service department, where I brought my 2018 Hyundai for installation of antitheft software upgrade. From first phone call to actual appointment was three weeks, which, considering the number of Hyundais and Kias that require this upgrade, did not seem too long. The work was completed in less than 2 hours. My initial calls were to Michelle, who never failed to patiently answer questions or return phone calls. The Service Advisor assigned to me on the date of service was Sara De Guzman. What a dynamo: energetic, smart, caring, efficient, knowledgeable !! When she had to help another customer, Cris kindly assisted me. All three are a big "plus" for this service center.The following may interest Hyundai & Kia owners who have experienced the theft of their vehicles. No reflection on this Hyundai dealership--rather a reflection on Hyundai Corp. who claim they contacted all owners of affected vehicles which needed antitheft software. I received NO notification and only learned of this after the attempt to steal my car, which destroyed the ignition and steering column (theft was unsuccessful due to the after-market alarm system with ignitiion "kill" I had installed 4 yrs ago. ). Surely there's a way via VIN number to contact all affected Hyundai owners, even those like me who bought the car elsewhere (mine from Enterprise Rental Car).The wait time given to have the ignition repaired at SL Hyundai was two to eight MONTHS!!! Because each dealership is individually owned, they could not immediately say which other Hyundai dealers/service centers might be able to provide quicker service. I called all over the Bay Area ( I located parts at the very helpful Fremont Hyundai Parts Dept, but my fantastic mechanic Monte Benedick beat me to it, locating and installing all that was needed (amazing how much was destroyed up in the car!) So, I was able to drive my car for the antitheft installation which I'd booked --hoping for the best--without knowing if my car would even be repaired by then.Thank you to the service advisors at SL Hyundai Service Center, you all are easy, pleasant, respectful in your communication and advice. Sara, thank you for helping me that day.The work was completed earlier than estimated, and icing on the cake was the the complimentary car wash and wax.

I made an appointment for a recall fix and a 7K service on a Tuesday. I was led to believe I'd be able to pick up the car on Thursday. No communication from the shop. I start calling, finally am told Friday morning by 11. I start calling on Friday and the guy just goes radio silent on me. I decide to just show up at 1:00. No work has been done on my car. They never even started. three days and they didn't even start. I mean... wtaf is wrong with these people??Service: General repairs & maintenance

Giving two starts because they did manage to fix my brakes... However I wish I read these reviews before throwing money away here. Outside of the brakes, they literally "fixed" something entirely different than what I requested, only for me to come home and find that the problem I was having was still there. I called and left a message to get this solved, never heard back from them. Called again - got a hold of a person and calmly explained the situation. Not an ounce of an apologetic response for their own error. Rather the man kept telling me what they already did and had charged me for, and how he could quote me for what I needed now... This place is a mess. You'll pay top dollar for mediocre service and potentially more dollars for things you don't even need. By far the worst auto service experience. AVOID!!Services: Auto body & trim repair, General repairs & maintenance, Brakes, Oil change

I needed quite a few repairs done due to several recalls on my Sonata. One of the representatives there (Denny) helped me get all but one approved and completed. The last repair was a paint job which required a more lengthy approval process. However, I was contacted by Denny as soon as the work was approved, and given a Lyft ride so I could pick a loaner at the nearby car rental (which Hyundai covered). My experience thus far has been excellent, and I am now waiting confidently for the paint job to be completed. I highly recommend San Leandro Hyundai and Denny for any service work that may be needed!

Hyundai does not have a dealer in the San Mateo area - and the one I go to normally was booked up 3+ months out - so I was excited to see one just across the bay in San Leandro with earlier availability.The ratings looked good on the dealer (4 stars). I wish I had looked more closely for this service center (2.4 stars).I scheduled via website about 2 months in advance for (i) an oil service and (ii) the replacement of a door handle that had some chrome detailing that was peeling.The door handle issue is one that I've dealt with before and I know they need to order a part to fix it. I added notes when I scheduled that this was the case and asked them to call me so I could verify that the part was ordered and ready for installation if needed when I went in.I never received a call but I did receive multiple confirmation emails and texts of my appointment and the specifics of what I wanted to accomplish with the service visit (including almost every day the week leading up to the appointment).When I went to check in - they knew I was there for an oil change - and I asked them if they could also confirm my notes and the need for work on the door handle. TLDR either they did not obtain the notes on my appointment request or the missed them.I could have understood if they apologized and simply said they missed it but would get it resolved. Instead I was given a lecture about how it was my fault for not having come in before and that I shouldn't rely on the details of the appointment request to communicate my needs / that they can't do anything without seeing the car first (including, apparently, even issues related to recalls the way this individual lectured me about it).I have had this same door handle issue resolved before by two other dealers in the area (Fremont and Stevens Creek). In both instances they contacted me in advance per my request and spoke with me about the issue. A simple photo of the problem sent via email was enough for them to fully understand and have the part ready for me when I came in for my next service.So my experience with San Leandro Hyundai Service and Parts Center fell short of that by far... This coupled with the lack of any courtesy or accountability by the employee w/r/t the disconnect... I declined to do any business today with them and simply left.

Absolutely horrible service shop with no regard for your time. Came for a recall repair, was told the car would be ready in 4 hours. At the 4-hour mark, was told one more hour. Then, when the car was finally ready, I was told that they did not have the part they needed and I would have to come back again. Apparently it took 5 hours to check my tire pressure. Oh, and no apology needed in their view. Inexplicable and unforgivable.Service: General repairs & maintenance

JULY 2023Im always thankful to this Hyundai San Leandro service branch in 2085 Wayne Ave 94577. Im about 10-mi away but I come here always. Today is 7/14, I came this morning as my appointment time. Most of the Hyundai car owners come here. Hyundai staffs serve fast, are reliable, greet with smiles, have friendly approach, give advices, have a clean & quiet waiting lobby etc. My advisor now is Sara Jane De Guzman. A new very young, kind hearted and cute lady, very busy to-&-fro helping the needs of her customers. She helped me a lot. She deserves to be promoted with wage increased. She s 5 star. It also reflects how her supervisor / manager trains her. All work service guys are great too and fast. I wander why some people give this branch negative feedback. Let s all be patient if we stay longer or unsatisfied or if they find something to replace or repair. Car has limitations too and is getting older and weaker that needs regular maintenance. Everyone here is superb. All the highly trained repair guys can t finish to manage 20 cars in 1 hour. They are humans and not super heroes but they do an excellent job and you won t regret it. SEPT 2022Their service oil change and tire rotation is excellent. I waited an average 1-2 hours but it s understandable, that s fine especially morning rush hours. I have my handicapped son with me. A cute lady, Ms Jennifer M, not only has beautiful smile but has a big heart to everyone, fully assisted our needs, she s our advisor. Service crews are so fast, although very busy, still has time to greet & smile in a friendly manner. This is our first time, my car is washed too. I couldn t believe some of the negative feedbacks here. Staffs are all okay, we need only to be patient, they couldn t handle 20 cars in 1 hour, let s be patient. I ll come back again after 6 months or after 5k running miles. You won t regret choosing them to serve your car, believe me. I thank you all guys, I fully appreciate it.Services: Tire rotations, Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

The customer service that Michelle Maciel provided was exceptional. I am truly grateful for her patience and proactivity. It felt like I had someone on my side.The reason I don't rate this five stars is because I had a previous experience with this service center where another specialist (not Michelle) handled my case, and they failed to properly diagnose the issue with my air conditioner.So in conclusion, if you bring your car to this servicing center, make sure to request Michelle.Services: Auto A/C recharge, Vehicle Inspection, Auto A/C replacement

Horrible!2015 Hyundai Veloster "Anti theft" software failed and within 2 months my vehicle was stolen. Human error or computer error no one from the Service department has gotten back to me especially the manager "Brian". I have had to go to corporate. Hyundai/Kia Motors is a F-ing nightmare!!!

When I first drove up to Kia service building it's confusing. On the building it also includes Nissan and Hyundia. Their no specific signage where to go. You ask a staff person and they act like don't bother me and just point. I finally explain what two items I needed checked on my car. The service person didn't listen or ignored my request. When I picked up my car they only did one request. Seems no one there have responsible work ethics. They offered to set another appointment but all the stuff I needed to get the time to get the car there.

My only real issue with Hyundai is the rate at which they are able to book appointments. You have to book an appointment about a month out in order to be seen. This isn't particularly helpful if you have an emergency. Or if you have a broken window that, apparently, can only be fixed by the dealership. Otherwise, the service itself is usually friendly and speedy. They give a courtesy call when your work is done and you can leave your vehicle and pick it up at your convenience. I use this service most frequently because it is the closest to my home.

Why even have an appointment system if they're not going to look at your car for several more hours? I had an appointment that I had to book several weeks in advance, showed up on time, and was told it would take a few hours. About an hour later, they still had not moved the car from where I left it. After that they moved it to the parking lot and still had not taken a look around the two hour mark. I normally would take my car to a mechanic that I trust but this was for one of the many recalls that needed to be looked at by a service center. Hyundai makes an okay car but I would not recommend them based on the level of service provided when you need something done through them. This has happened at other Hyundai service centers as well and most of them seem to be closing down too so you have to make longer and longer trips to get poor service when your car needs work.
